POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 6/21/97 | HEIGHT: 6’0” | WEIGHT: 180 HOMETOWN: PORT ARTHUR, TX A former 21st-round selection by the Mariners in 2018, Anderson was traded to the Rangers in 2019 for pitcher Connor Sadzeck. In 2019 with Low-A Hickory, Anderson made 37 appearances, going 7-4 with a 3.22 ERA. Before turning professional, Anderson worked out of the bullpen at McNeese State, going 8-0 with a 2.30 ERA in 2017.

DIOSBEL ARIAS

POSITION: INFIELDER | DOB: 7/2/96 | HEIGHT: 6’0” | WEIGHT: 210 HOMETOWN: HAVANA, CUBA Arias joined the Rangers organization from Cuba and he has been a mark of consistency ever since. With Short-Season Low-A Spokane in 2018, Arias hit .366/.451/.491 with three home runs and 44 RBIs en route to winning the Northwest League batting title and being named a Postseason All-Star. He followed that up in 2019 by being named a Mid-Season All-Star with the Down East Wood Ducks in the Carolina League, batting .270/.346/.361.

JAX BIGGERS

POSITION: INFIELDER | DOB: 4/7/97 | HEIGHT: 5’11” | WEIGHT: 175 HOMETOWN: MISSOURI CITY, TX Biggers, who skipped High-A to start 2021 with the RoughRiders, hit .282/.369/.353 with Hickory in 2019. An eighth-round selection of the Rangers in 2018, Biggers spent two seasons at the University of Arkansas, helping the Razorbacks reach the College World Series Finals in 2018. In 2017, he was a semifinalist for the Brooks Wallace Award, given to the country’s best shortstop.

CODY BRADFORD

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 2/22/93 | HEIGHT: 6’4” | WEIGHT: 205 HOMETOWN: ALEDO, TX Former Baylor Bears starter Bradford was third in the High-A East with 87 strikeouts over 61.2 inning before being promoted to Frisco in early August. With Baylor, Bradford was named Big-12 Pitcher of the Year his sophomore year, going 7-5 with a 2.38 ERA. Bradford missed most of his 2019 season after undergoing surgery for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome – which causes the nerves that pass between the collarbone and first rib to become compressed.

NOAH BREMER

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 5/13/96 | HEIGHT: 6’5” | WEIGHT: 206 HOMETOWN: BERKELEY, CA A University of Washington product, Bremer dominated in his 14 starts in 2019, going 3-0 with a 2.97 ERA for the High-A Down East Wood Ducks. The righty has a career 3.44 ERA in the minors. At UW, Bremer was named the All-Pac-12 team three times, going 16-11 with a 2.88 ERA over 47 games, 40 being starts.

TIM BRENNAN

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 12/18/96 | HEIGHT: 6’4” | WEIGHT: 212 HOMETOWN: PHILADELPHIA, PA Brennan was drafted by the Rangers out of his hometown St. Joseph’s University (Philadelphia, Pa.) in the seventh round of the 2018 draft. Between High-A Down East and Low-A Hickory in 2019, he went 11-6 with a 3.84 ERA, walking just 14 batters in 124.1 IP. Among those who threw at least 70 innings in the Low-A South Atlantic League, Brennan was tied for the lowest walk rate (2.9%).

HEVER BUENO

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 11/23/94 | HEIGHT: 6’2” | WEIGHT: 210 HOMETOWN: MESA, AZ An Arizona State product, the hard-thrower has been a reliever since the 2019 season with Low-A Hickory, where he went 4-1 with a 2.14 ERA. With the Sun Devils, Bueno made just 35 appearances because of injuries, including “Tommy John” surgery in 2016. Before going under the knife, he was the Friday night starter for Arizona State, but just made two starts before sustaining the UCL injury.

BLAINE CRIM

POSITION: INFIELDER | DOB: 6/17/97 | HEIGHT: 5’11” | WEIGHT: 200 HOMETOWN: MOBILE, AL Crim began his college years as a two-way player at Mississippi College, hitting .350/.404/.585 over his career and just pitching in 10 games his freshman year, owning a 7.18 ERA. After being picked up by the Rangers in the 19th round of the 2019 draft, he hit .335/.398/.528 with Short Season Low-A Spokane and he continued that in 2021, bashing 20 homers while hitting .300 with Hickory before being promoted to Frisco.

JUSTIN FOSCUE

POSITION: INFIELDER | DOB: 3/2/99 | HEIGHT: 6’0” | WEIGHT: 205 HOMETOWN: HUNTSVILLE, AL After Foscue was not drafted out of Virgil Grissom High School, he attended Mississippi State, where he hit .297/.380/.482 over three seasons. In 2020, he was drafted 14th overall by the Rangers, making him the highest second baseman ever drafted out of Mississippi State. Before being promoted to Frisco in 2021, Foscue hit home runs in seven-straight games for the Hickory Crawdads. He entered the year as the No. 5 prospect in the Rangers system according to MLB.com.

RONNY HENRIQUEZ

POSITION: OUTFIELDER | DOB: 7/20/00 | HEIGHT: 5’10” | WEIGHT: 160 HOMETOWN: BONAO, D.R. A veteran of the minors, Henriquez spent eight seasons with the Royals organization, including making the Texas League Mid-Season All-Star Team in 2018 as a member of the Northwest Arkansas. After signing a MiLB Free Agent deal over the offseason, he started 2021 in Triple-A Round Rock.

SAM HUFF

POSITION: INFIELDER | DOB: 1/14/98 | HEIGHT: 6’5” | WEIGHT: 240 HOMETOWN: PHOENIX, AZ Huff was picked by the Rangers in the seventh round of the 2016 draft after leading Arizona prep hitters with 14 homers his senior season at Arcadia High School. The six-foot, five-inch catcher burst onto the scene as a top-5 prospect in the Rangers system in 2019 when he blasted 28 home runs between Low-A Hickory and High-A Down East. In 2020, he debuted with the Rangers on September 11th, becoming the youngest catcher since Jarrod Saltalamacchia in 2007 (22 years old) to make his debut. He is the No. 2 prospect in the Rangers system entering 2021.

ZAK KENT

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 2/24/98 | HEIGHT: 6’3” | WEIGHT: 208 HOMETOWN: HENRICO, VA Kent was picked from Virginia Military Institute in the ninth round of the 2019 draft by the Rangers after a wonderful career with the Keydets. His final year with VMI, Kent set a school record, led the Southern Conference and ranked ninth in the nation with 132 strikeouts. To start 2021, Kent went 6-2 over 14 games with a 2.83 ERA, striking out 78 over 60.1 innings with High-A Hickory before being promoted to Frisco.

CHASE LEE

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 8/13/98 | HEIGHT: 6’0” | WEIGHT: 170 HOMETOWN: BIRMINGHAM, AL A native of Birmingham, Lee attempted to walk-on to the Alabama baseball team his freshman year but did not make the team in a tryout. After dropping down to throw sidearm and pitching for the club team, he made the Alabama baseball and became one of the best relievers in Crimson Tide history. Lee left with the career ERA mark there at 1.87 before being drafted by the Rangers in the sixth round of the 2021 draft.

J.P. MARTINEZ

POSITION: OUTFIELDER | DOB: 3/21/96 | HEIGHT: 5’9” | WEIGHT: 180 HOMETOWN: BARACOA, CUBA One of the top talents in the 2018 international sphere, Martinez has been playing professional-level baseball since he was 16 in Cuba. A blend of speed and power, Martinez hit 15 home runs and stole 28 bases in 2019 between Down East and Hickory.

SAL MENDEZ

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 2/25/95 | HEIGHT: 6’4” | WEIGHT: 185 HOMETOWN: WEEHAWKEN, NJ A 40th-rounder out of Weehawken High School in New Jersey, Mendez put together back-to-back strong seasons, owning a 2.85 ERA in 2018 and 2.37 ERA in 2019. While mostly out of the bullpen, Mendez filled in as a starter as well, making 24 starts out of 58 total games in the two years.

MELVIN NOVOA

POSITION: CATCHER | DOB: 6/17/96 | HEIGHT: 5’11” | WEIGHT: 215 HOMETOWN: NANDAIME, NICARAGUA Novoa spent both 2018 and 2019 see-sawing between Low-A Hickory and High-A Down East and had offensive success with the Crawdads in 2019. That season, he set career highs in home runs (12) and RBIs (53) while pegging 34.5 percent of base runners from behind the plate. The catcher is trying to become just the 16th player from Nicaragua to make The Show.

FERNERY OZUNA

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 11/9/95 | HEIGHT: 5’9” | WEIGHT: 190 HOMETOWN: NIGUA, DR One of the more interesting stories on the 2021 Riders, Ozuna was originally signed as an infielder by the Diamondbacks in 2012 and was released in 2018. Two months later, the Rangers picked him up and tried to move him to the mound, after just throwing 12 innings, he had to have “Tommy John” surgery and has returned with a triple-digits fastball.

JORDAN PROCYSHEN

POSITION: CATCHER | DOB: 3/11/93 | HEIGHT: 5’10” | WEIGHT: 185 HOMETOWN: CALGARY, CAN Pronounced pro-SESH-en, the 28-year-old has seen plenty of action over his six seasons in professional baseball. Originally drafted by the Red Sox in the 14th round of the 2014 draft out of Northern Kentucky, Procyshen spent five seasons in the Boston organization before heading to the Dodgers’ High-A and Double-A in 2019.

COLE RAGANS

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 12/12/97 | HEIGHT: 6’4” | WEIGHT: 205 HOMETOWN: CRAWFORDVILLE, FL A former first-round selection in 2016, Ragans was he a top-10 high school arm in the nation before he went 30th overall to Texas. The southpaw impressed in Short Season Low-A Spokane in 2017, being named the best prospect in the Northwest League by Baseball America before injuries derailed his next two seasons. After undergoing two ‘Tommy John’ surgeries, he missed the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons. He started 2021 in High-A Hickory before playing the 2021 All-Star Futures Game and debuting in Double-A Frisco the same week.

DANIEL ROBERT

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 8/30/94 | HEIGHT: 6’4” | WEIGHT: 210 HOMETOWN: HOOVER, AL Robert was primarily a position player at Auburn, batting .283/.377/.403 during his career with the Tigers, but also made 14 appearances out of the bullpen. The Rangers drafted him as a pitcher in the 21st round of the 2018 draft and he has impressed since. In 2019, between Short Season Low-A Spokane and Low-A Hickory, he went 2-1 with a 0.99 ERA in 20 appearances while he threw in just four games before being promoted to Frisco.

JOSH SMITH

POSITION: INFIELDER | DOB: 8/7/97 | HEIGHT: 5’10” | WEIGHT: 172 HOMETOWN: BATON ROUGE, LA Smith was a key piece in the trade that sent Joey Gallo and Joely Rodriguez to the Yankees, coming over to the Rangers with infielders Ezequiel Duran and Trevor Hauver in addition to pitcher Glen Otto. Smith starred at LSU, hitting .313/.420/.478 over three years before being drafted in the second round by New York. While at LSU, Smith was named SEC Academic Honor Roll all three seasons. The Baton Rouge, La. native is the No. 7 prospect in the Rangers system.

ALEX SPEAS

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 3/4/98 | HEIGHT: 6’3” | WEIGHT: 225 HOMETOWN: POWDER SPRINGS, GA A former second-round pick out of McEachern High School in Georgia, Speas missed most of 2019 after undergoing “Tommy John” surgery. Originally drafted as a starter, Speas was migrated to the bullpen in 2017 and has racked up the swings and misses, striking out 13.4 per nine innings over his minor league career.

JOSH STOWERS

POSITION: OUTFIELDER | DOB: 2/25/97 | HEIGHT: 6’0” | WEIGHT: 200 HOMETOWN: CHICAGO, IL Acquired in April of 2021 from the New York Yankees in exchange for Rougned Odor, Stowers figures to be a big factor in the RoughRiders outfield in 2021. The former Louisville Cardinal was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 2018 draft’s second round, but was shipped to New York for infielder Shed Long a year later.

Stowers was a Third-Team All-American in 2018 at Louisville after hitting .336 with nine home runs, 60 RBIs and 36 steals.

TYLER THOMAS

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 12/22/95 | HEIGHT: 6’0” | WEIGHT: 175 HOMETOWN: SAN DIEGO, CA After beginning 2021 in High-A Hickory, Thomas joined the RoughRiders bullpen in May. Originally drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the seventh round of the 2017 draft, the lefty was traded to Texas for pitcher Jesse Chavez. Before being drafted, Thomas was a 1st-Team All-Mountain West selection at Fresno State both his sophomore and junior seasons.

Thompson has swiped 44 bases over 141 games since the start of 2018. The outfielder was committed to the University of Alabama for baseball before he signed with the Rangers.

POSITION: PITCHER | DOB: 5/31/96 | HEIGHT: 6’6” | WEIGHT: 195 HOMETOWN: LAKEWOOD, CA Tiedemann began the 2021 season with High-A Hickory before being promoted to Frisco in early August. After being selected by the Rangers in the eighth round of the 2016 draft out of Long Beach City College, Tiedemann pitched with Short Season Low-A Spokane in 2017 and 2018 before spending 2019 with Low-A Hickory. After being a starter his entire career, Tiedemann moved to the bullpen in 2019.

DAVIS WENDZEL

POSITION: INFIELDER | DOB: 5/23/97 | HEIGHT: 6’0” | WEIGHT: 205 HOMETOWN: IRVINE, CA A former Baylor Bear, Wendzel has only seen seven games of minor league action since being picked in the first round of the 2019 draft due to a thumb injury he sustained in college. The No. 8 prospect in the Rangers system per MLB.com had a wonderful college career at Baylor, taking home 2019 All-American honors and sharing the 2019 Big 12 Player of the Year Award with fellow Rangers farmhand Josh Jung.

MATT WHATLEY

POSITION: CATCHER | DOB: 1/7/96 | HEIGHT: 5’9” | WEIGHT: 200 HOMETOWN: CLAREMORE, OK Whatley is widely known as one of the best defensive catchers in the Rangers system and that culminated in the 2019 Texas Rangers Minor League Defender of the Year Award. The Oklahoma native excelled in college at Oral Roberts University as well, taking home the Johnny Bench Award in 2017 as the nation’s best catcher. Oral Roberts University also produced Rangers and former RoughRiders catcher Jose Trevino.
