CARLOSCARDOZA MANAGER

Cardoza enters his third year with the RoughRiders after managing the Riders to an 84-54 record and the Texas League North First Half title in 2024 Frisco’s 609 winning percentage marked the best year in franchise history Cardoza’s 148 wins already rank fourth in franchise history among 10 total managers Before managing Frisco, Cardoza managed High-A Hickory (2020, 2022), Low-A Down East (2021), AZL Rangers (2019) and DSL Rangers 2 (2016-19). In 2023, he piloted the Surprise Saguaros to an Arizona Fall League Title and was bench coach with Cangrejeros de Santurce of the Puerto Rican Winter League. The San PR native played two years at Georgia State and two years at Armstrong State, where he was a gold glove second baseman.

JULIOVALDEZ PITCHINGCOACH

Julio Valdez joins Frisco after serving as the pitching coach for High-A Hickory in 2024 and with Low-A Down East before that in 2023. Starting his sixth season with the Rangers organization, he had previously held the same role for the Arizona Complex League Rangers (2022) and the Dominican Summer League Rangers (2020-2021) Valdez started his coaching career with his alma mater, Alabama State, in 2017 before transitioning to the Director of Pitching at the Texas Pitching Institute in El Paso He spent two years at TPI before taking the me role at Baseball Rebellion in Durham, his last stop before joining the Rangers organization

RYANTUNTLAND HITTING COACH

Tuntland will return to Frisco in 2025 after serving as the club’s hitting coach in both 2023 and 2024 Under Tuntland, the 2024 RoughRiders finished third in franchise history with 150 steals and fifth in walks (481) In 2023, the Riders set franchise records with 680 walks and a 355 team on-base percentage Starting his fourth season with the Rangers organization, Tuntland was the hitting coach for Hickory in 2022 after serving as the hitting coach for the Arizona Complex League Rangers in 2021. From 2016 to 2018, the Illinois native coached in the collegiate ranks at Oakton CC, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Virginia, his alma mater. Tuntland was drafted in the 29th round of the 2013 aft by San Francisco, hitting .227/.345/.338/.683 over his two seasons.

TYLERWOLFE

HITTING COACH

Wolfe will return to the RoughRiders for his second season in Double-A and his third season in the Rangers system In 2023, he served as the hitting coach for the ACL Rangers, helping guide an offense that finished with the second-most total bases in the ACL and tied for the second-most home runs Prior to joining the Rangers, Wolfe served two years as a hitting coordinator at Cressy Sports Performance in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Before that, he coached for two seasons in the St. Louis farm system with the Gulf Coast League Cardinals and spent four seasons as the head coach for Minnesota Blizzard Baseball, a 15U fall league team in Minneapolis/St. Paul. As a player, he was a 39th-round selection by the Astros in 2016 out of Kansas State University, reaching Double-A Corpus Christi.

KAWIKAEMSLEY-PAI BENCHCOACH

Emsley-Pai returns to the RoughRiders in 2025, where he specializes in working with the Frisco catchers. In 2024, Riders’ catchers allowed just 101 steals, tied for the fewest among all full-season MiLB teams, while throwing out 26 percent of potential base stealers. In 2023, RoughRiders' catchers had the second-fewest wild pitches and passed balls in the Texas League. After coaching collegiately from 2019-2021 as the head coach of Centralia College in Washington state, he joined the Rangers organization in 2022 with the Hickory Crawdads A former catcher, Emsley-Pai played six seasons in the minor leagues for the ondbacks (2010) and Pirates (2011-15) systems, making his highest stop at Double-A Altoona in 2014

CARSONPHILLIPS BULLPENCOACH

Phillips marks another new face to the staff, joining the Rangers organization for his primary year after serving as a bullpen coach in the Toronto Blue Jays organization for the last two seasons (2023-2024). He was with High-A Vancouver in 2024 and Triple-A Buffalo in 2023 after being a graduate assistant with the University of Arizona baseball team in 2022. Phillips also pitched at California Baptist, San Diego Mesa Community College and Utah Tech (formerly Dixie State).

MICHAELTHEILE ATHLETIC TRAINER

Theile heads to Frisco for his first season as well, spending his fourth year within the Rangers organization. The Milwaukee, WI native served as the athletic trainer for the Low-A Down East Wood Ducks in 2024 after being with the ACL affiliate in both 2022 and 2023. After attending both Marquette University and Georgia State (master’s degree), he served as an athletic training fellow at Florida Atlantic University, working with the baseball and cheer teams from June to December 2021.

Platts returns to the RoughRiders for his third season in the Rangers organization in 2025 and his second in Frisco In his first year, he was the strength and conditioning coach for the Low-A Down East Wood Ducks before spending a season with the Cubs, working in the Dominican Summer League. The Canada native completed his strength and conditioning internship with the University of Iowa athletic department in 2022 and spent four years with the Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Academy from 2019 through 2022. Platts played two seasons at Southeastern Community College in Iowa.

HOMETOWN: MISSOURI CITY, TX

Biggers has spent parts of four seasons with Frisco and was part of the 2022 Texas League Championship team. He was assigned to the Riders on May 31 after working back from injury with ACL Rangers Biggers spent all of 2024 with Triple-A Round Rock, batting .275 in 119 games. He also won the True Ranger Award, given to a player who represents the core values of the organization on and off the field. An eighth-round pick by the Rangers in 2018, Biggers played collegiately at Arkansas, where he helped the Razorbacks to the CWS Finals that season

WILIAN BORMIE

HOMETOWN: BARAHONA, DR

Bormie signed a minor league contract with the Rangers in December of 2019 and began playing in the Rangers organization in August of 2022. After posting a 3.86 ERA with High-A Hub City in 2025, he was promoted to Frisco on August 5, 2025. Across 33 relief appearances for the Spartanburgers, the right-hander struck out 76 batters across 52 innings of work while walking 29 batters. Opposing hitters hit just .209 against him Bormie tabbed his best month with Hub City in April, registering a 0.73 ERA across 12.1 innings of work.

JULIAN BROCK

HOMETOWN: HOUSTON, TX

The Rangers selected Brock in the eighth round of the 2023 draft. Before earning a call-up to Frisco on August 5, 2025, the former University of Louisiana-Lafayette standout racked up 503.0 innings behind the dish for High-A Hub City Defensively, Brock caught 61 batters stealing while also adding 24 RBIs, 12 doubles and 10 stolen bases on offense across 62 games for the Spartanburgers. In August of 2024, Brock went 11-for-20 at the plate in a series to earn Carolina League Player of the Week and bat .392 during that month to earn Carolina League Player of the Month honors with Single-A Down East

GERARDO CARRILLO

HOMETOWN: GUADALAJARA, MEXICO

Carrillo signed a Minor League contract with the Rangers in December of 2023 and was assigned to Frisco on April 24 He missed the 2024 campaign due to injury. He was originally signed by the Dodgers in 2016, where he reached as high as Double-A Tulsa in 2021. That year, he was traded to the Nationals for Max Scherzer and Trea Turner along with C Keibert Ruiz, RHP Josiah Gray and OF Donovan Casey. With the Nats organization, 20 of his 29 appearances came with Double-A Harrisburg His brother Raúl has pitched 16 seasons in the Mexican League.

Cauley, MLB Pipeline’s No 21 Rangers prospect, was a third-round pick by the Rangers in 2021 out of Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, Texas Entering 2025, the Houston native leads the Rangers organization with 101 stolen bases since 2022. In 93 games with Hickory in 2024, Cauley clubbed 35 extra-base hits and stole 27 bases. Ahead of the 2025 season Baseball America named him the Fastest Baserunner, Best and Best Defensive Infielder in the Texas organization. Chavez enters 2025 having played parts of three seasons with Frisco after being drafted in the 22nd round of the 2018 MLB Draft out of Midland Junior College. In 2024, Chavez batted .250 with four homers and 42 RBI in 78 games with Frisco before playing 35 games with TripleA Round Rock. He was a postseason hero for the Riders in 2022, hitting the go-ahead single in the 10th inning of the TLCS-clinching win over Wichita. The Venezuelan-born Chavez went to Little Elm High School, under 10 miles from Riders Field.

In 2024, Kindreich came back from an injury and rehab assignment with ACL Rangers to post a 1.62 ERA with High-A Hickory and earn a promotion to Frisco With the Riders, he held opponents to a 250 average.
