CARLOS CARDOZA MANAGER

Cardoza enters his third year with the RoughRiders after managing the Riders to an 84-54 record and the Texas League North First Half title in 2024. Frisco’s .609 winning percentage marked the best year in franchise history. Cardoza’s 148 wins already rank fourth in franchise history among 10 total managers. Before managing Frisco, Cardoza managed High-A Hickory (2020, 2022), Low-A Down East (2021), AZL Rangers (2019) and DSL Rangers 2 (2016-19). In 2023, he piloted the Surprise Saguaros to an Arizona Fall League Title and was bench coach with Cangrejeros de Santurce of the Puerto Rican Winter League. The San Juan, PR native played two years at Georgia State and two years at Armstrong Atlantic State, where he was a gold glove second baseman.

JULIO VALDEZ PITCHING COACH

Julio Valdez joins Frisco after serving as the pitching coach for High-A Hickory in 2024 and with Low-A Down East before that in 2023. Starting his sixth season with the Rangers organization, he had previously held the same role for the Arizona Complex League Rangers (2022) and the Dominican Summer League Rangers (2020-2021). Valdez started his coaching career with his alma mater, Alabama State, in 2017 before transitioning to the Director of Pitching at the Texas Pitching Institute in El Paso. He spent two years at TPI before taking the same role at Baseball Rebellion in Durham, his last stop before joining the Rangers organization.

RYAN TUNTLAND HITTING COACH

Tuntland will return to Frisco in 2025 after serving as the club’s hitting coach in both 2023 and 2024. Under Tuntland, the 2024 RoughRiders finished third in franchise history with 150 steals and fifth in walks (481). In 2023, the Riders set franchise records with 680 walks and a .355 team on-base percentage. Starting his fourth season with the Rangers organization, Tuntland was the hitting coach for Hickory in 2022 after serving as the hitting coach for the Arizona Complex League Rangers in 2021. From 2016 to 2018, the Illinois native coached in the collegiate ranks at Oakton CC, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and West Virginia, his alma mater. Tuntland was drafted in the 29th round of the 2013 draft by San Francisco, hitting .227/.345/.338/.683 over his two seasons.

TYLER WOLFE HITTING COACH

Wolfe will return to the RoughRiders for his second season in Double-A and his third season in the Rangers system. In 2023, he served as the hitting coach for the ACL Rangers, helping guide an offense that finished with the second-most total bases in the ACL and tied for the second-most home runs. Prior to joining the Rangers, Wolfe served two years as a hitting coordinator at Cressy Sports Performance in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Before that, he coached for two seasons in the St. Louis farm system with the Gulf Coast League Cardinals and spent four seasons as the head coach for Minnesota Blizzard Baseball, a 15U fall league team in Minneapolis/St. Paul. As a player, he was a 39th-round selection by the Astros in 2016 out of Kansas State University, reaching Double-A Corpus Christi.

KAWIKA EMSLEY-PAI BENCH COACH

Emsley-Pai returns to the RoughRiders in 2025, where he specializes in working with the Frisco catchers. In 2024, Riders’ catchers allowed just 101 steals, tied for the fewest among all full-season MiLB teams, while throwing out 26 percent of potential base stealers. In 2023, RoughRiders' catchers had the second-fewest wild pitches and passed balls in the Texas League. After coaching collegiately from 2019-2021 as the head coach of Centralia College in Washington state, he joined the Rangers organization in 2022 with the Hickory Crawdads. A former catcher, Emsley-Pai played six seasons in the minor leagues for the Diamondbacks (2010) and Pirates (2011-15) systems, making his highest stop at Double-A Altoona in 2014.

CARSON PHILLIPS BULLPEN COACH

Phillips marks another new face to the staff, joining the Rangers organization for his primary year after serving as a bullpen coach in the Toronto Blue Jays organization for the last two seasons (2023-2024). He was with High-A Vancouver in 2024 and Triple-A Buffalo in 2023 after being a graduate assistant with the University of Arizona baseball team in 2022. Phillips also pitched at California Baptist, San Diego Mesa Community College and Utah Tech (formerly Dixie State).

MICHAEL THEILE ATHLETIC TRAINER

Theile heads to Frisco for his first season as well, spending his fourth year within the Rangers organization. The Milwaukee, WI native served as the athletic trainer for the Low-A Down East Wood Ducks in 2024 after being with the ACL affiliate in both 2022 and 2023. After attending both Marquette University and Georgia State (master’s degree), he served as an athletic training fellow at Florida Atlantic University, working with the baseball and cheer teams from June to December 2021.

BRETT PLATTS

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH Platts returns to the RoughRiders for his third season in the Rangers organization in 2025 and his second in Frisco. In his first year, he was the strength and conditioning coach for the Low-A Down East Wood Ducks before spending a season with the Cubs, working in the Dominican Summer League. The Canada native completed his strength and conditioning internship with the University of Iowa athletic department in 2022 and spent four years with the Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Academy from 2019 through 2022. Platts played two seasons at Southeastern Community College in Iowa.

POSITION: INF | DOB: 4/7/1997 | HEIGHT: 5'9" | WEIGHT: 175 HOMETOWN: MISSOURI CITY, TX Biggers has spent parts of four seasons with Frisco and was part of the 2022 Texas League Championship team. He was assigned to the Riders on May 31 after working back from injury with ACL Rangers. Biggers spent all of 2024 with Triple-A Round Rock, batting .275 in 119 games. He also won the True Ranger Award, given to a player who represents the core values of the organization on and off the field. An eighth-round pick by the Rangers in 2018, Biggers played collegiately at Arkansas, where he helped the Razorbacks to the CWS Finals that season.

WILIAN BORMIE

POSITION: RHP | DOB: 2/23/03 | HEIGHT: 6'3" | WEIGHT: 2175 HOMETOWN: BARAHONA, DR Bormie signed a minor league contract with the Rangers in December of 2019 and began playing in the Rangers organization in August of 2022.

After posting a 3.86 ERA with High-A Hub City in 2025, he was promoted to Frisco on August 5, 2025. Across 33 relief appearances for the Spartanburgers, the right-hander struck out 76 batters across 52 innings of work while walking 29 batters. Opposing hitters hit just .209 against him. Bormie tabbed his best month with Hub City in April, registering a 0.73 ERA across 12.1 innings of work.

JULIAN BROCK

POSITION: C | DOB: 6/3/01 | HEIGHT: 6'3" | WEIGHT: 220 HOMETOWN: HOUSTON, TX The Rangers selected Brock in the eighth round of the 2023 draft. Before earning a call-up to Frisco on August 5, 2025, the former University of Louisiana-Lafayette standout racked up 503.0 innings behind the dish for High-A Hub City. Defensively, Brock caught 61 batters stealing while also adding 24 RBIs, 12 doubles and 10 stolen bases on offense across 62 games for the Spartanburgers. In August of 2024, Brock went 11-for-20 at the plate in a series to earn Carolina League Player of the Week and bat .392 during that month to earn Carolina League Player of the Month honors with Single-A Down East.

GERARDO CARRILLO

POSITION: RHP | DOB: 9/13/1998 | HEIGHT: 6'1" | WEIGHT: 170 HOMETOWN: GUADALAJARA, MEXICO Carrillo signed a Minor League contract with the Rangers in December of 2023 and was assigned to Frisco on April 24. He missed the 2024 campaign due to injury. He was originally signed by the Dodgers in 2016, where he reached as high as Double-A Tulsa in 2021. That year, he was traded to the Nationals for Max Scherzer and Trea Turner along with C Keibert Ruiz, RHP Josiah Gray and OF Donovan Casey. With the Nats organization, 20 of his 29 appearances came with Double-A Harrisburg.

His brother Raúl has pitched 16 seasons in the Mexican League.

CAM CAULEY

POSITION: SS | DOB: 2/6/03 | HEIGHT: 5'10" | WEIGHT: 170 HOMETOWN: HOUSTON, TX Cauley, MLB Pipeline’s No. 21 Rangers prospect, was a third-round pick by the Rangers in 2021 out of Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, Texas. Entering 2025, the Houston native leads the Rangers organization with 101 stolen bases since 2022. In 93 games with Hickory in 2024, Cauley clubbed 35 extra-base hits and stole 27 bases. Ahead of the 2025 season, Baseball America named him the Fastest Baserunner, Best Athlete and Best Defensive Infielder in the Texas organization. At Barbers Hill, he starred on the gridiron and was an All-State wide receiver.

FRAINYER CHAVEZ

POSITION: SS | DOB: 6/6/97 | HEIGHT: 5'8" | WEIGHT: 170 HOMETOWN: VALENCIA, VENEZUELA Chavez enters 2025 having played parts of three seasons with Frisco after being drafted in the 22nd round of the 2018 MLB Draft out of Midland Junior College. In 2024, Chavez batted .250 with four homers and 42 RBI in 78 games with Frisco before playing 35 games with TripleA Round Rock. He was a postseason hero for the Riders in 2022, hitting the go-ahead single in the 10th inning of the TLCS-clinching win over Wichita. The Venezuelan-born Chavez went to Little Elm High School, under 10 miles from Riders Field.

JOSE CORNIELL

POSITION: RHP | DOB: 6/22/03 | HEIGHT: 6'3" | WEIGHT: 165 HOMETOWN: SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC The No. 7 Rangers prospect tossed two hitless innings in his Double-A debut on July 19th versus Corpus Christi. It marked his first non-rehab appearance since the 2023 season where he earned Nolan Ryan Pitcher of the Year honors. Between Low-A Down East and High-A Hickory, he led Rangers Minor Leaguers in ERA, K%, BB% and opposing average. At just 20 years old, Texas added him to the 40-man roster after the season.

JOEY DANIELSON

POSITION: RHP | DOB: 1/11/01 | HEIGHT: 6'3" | WEIGHT: 235 HOMETOWN: EDINA, MN Danielson was a 17th-round selection by the Rangers in 2024. The 24year-old right-hander was promoted to Frisco on July 29, 2025, after a stellar stint in High-A Hub City. The former North Dakota State Bison pitched in 34 games out of the bullpen for the Spartanburgers, boasting a 3.70 ERA across 41.1 innings of work. Danielson struck out 48 batters while walking just 15. At North Dakota State, he earned 2024 All-Summit League First Team honors and finished third in school history for saves in a single season with 11.

DAVID DAVALILLO

POSITION: RHP | DOB: 9/21/02 | HEIGHT: 6'1" | WEIGHT: 175 HOMETOWN: OCUMARE DEL TUY, VENEZUELA The 22-year-old right-hander comes to Frisco after a dominant start with High-A Hub City. At the time of his promotion, Davalillo ranked fourth in Minor League Baseball in WHIP (0.82) and led the SAL in ERA (2.12).

Between Low-A Down East and High-A Hickory in 2024, Davalillo led MiLB with a 1.88 ERA, the lowest by a Rangers farmhand since former Rider Joe Wieland in 2011. His grandfather Pompeyo played one MLB season, great-uncle Vic was a 16-year big leaguer, dad David played in MiLB from 1994-98 and brother Gabriel is LAA’s No. 14 prospect.

JOSH HATCHER

POSITION: OF | DOB: 9/3/98 | HEIGHT: 6'1" | WEIGHT: 200 HOMETOWN: ALBANY, GA The 26-year-old Hatcher was a 10th-round selection by Texas in 2022, reaching Frisco after just 72 games between ACL Rangers and High-A Hickory. In 2023, Hatcher swatted 14 homers in 100 games between Hickory and Frisco. Last season, he ranked second among qualified Double-A hitters with a .300 batting average. Hatcher played four years at Mississippi State, where he won the 2021 College World Series title, and one year at Kennesaw State. At KSU, he was a Collegiate Baseball Third Team All-American and First Team All-Atlantic Sun selection, becoming the third NCAA player ever to hit two cycles in the same season.

KEITH JONES II

POSITION: OF | DOB: 4/29/02 | HEIGHT: 6'2" | WEIGHT: 220 HOMETOWN: BRENTWOOD, CA The 23-year-old was assigned to Frisco on July 1st and made an immediate impact, homering in his Double-A debut versus Arkansas. With High-A Hub City, Jones ranked fifth in the South Atlantic League in OBP (.406) and seventh in OPS (.857), securing June Player of the Month honors. The Rangers made him a ninth-round pick in 2024 out of New Mexico State, where he was a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy.

JACKSON KELLEY

POSITION: RHP | DOB: 4/26/00 | HEIGHT: 6'0" | WEIGHT: 185 HOMETOWN: MARIETTA, GA The submarining right-hander returns to Frisco after rehabbing from a torn lat with the ACL Rangers. In 2024 between High-A Hickory and Frisco, he held opponents to a .166 average in 42 appearances. The Rangers drafted Kelley in the 12th round of the 2022 after a decorated career at Mercer University. In his final season as a Bear in 2022, he earned First Team All-SoCon honors and was a finalist for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year, posting a 1.35 ERA in 60 innings.

LARSON KINDREICH

POSITION: LHP | DOB: 6/21/1999 | HEIGHT: 6'4" | WEIGHT: 210 HOMETOWN: MEDFORD, OR Kindreich was assigned to Frisco on May 2 after going 3-0 and not allowing an earned run across seven appearances with High-A Hub City.

He picked up the save in his 2025 Riders debut on May 4 versus Wichita.

In 2024, Kindreich came back from an injury and rehab assignment with ACL Rangers to post a 1.62 ERA with High-A Hickory and earn a promotion to Frisco. With the Riders, he held opponents to a .250 average. Kindreich was an eighth round pick by Texas in 2021 out of Division II Biola College (CA), earning NCAA Division II West All-Region First Team honors in 2021.

RYAN LOBUS

POSITION: RHP | DOB: 9/8/00 | HEIGHT: 6'2" | WEIGHT: 180 HOMETOWN: WOODSTOCK, GA Lobus signed with Texas as a Non-Drafted Free Agent on July 18, 2023 after three seasons at Mercer University and one at Chattanooga State Community College, where he started as a position player. In his first Minor League season, Lobus shined in 27 appearances, including 12 starts, between Low-A Down East, High-A Hickory and Frisco. The Marietta, Georgia native posted a 2.96 ERA and 134 strikeouts while his 35.8% strikeout rate ranked second in MiLB (min. 90 IP). Lobus made six appearances for Frisco, including two in the postseason.

ERIC LOOMIS

POSITION: RHP | DOB: 3/27/02 | HEIGHT: 6'0" | WEIGHT: 195 HOMETOWN: BRENTWOOD, MO The Rangers selected Loomis in the 16th round of the 2024 Draft. The right-handed pitcher has been promoted twice this season, earning a promotion to High-A Hub City on May 2, 2025, and a call-up to Frsico on July 29, 2025. Across his 32 combined appearances at Low-A Hickory and Hub City, Loomis owned a 30% strikeout rate between the two stops.

Among arms with at least 30 innings pitched, he led the South Atlantic League with a .116 batting average against. In his final season at Missouri State, Loomis ranked eighth in school history for appearances in a season (29).

LEANDRO LOPEZ

POSITION: RHP | DOB: 6/17/02 | HEIGHT: 6'1" | WEIGHT: 200 HOMETOWN: BONAO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC The 23-year-old was assigned to Frisco from High-A Hub City on July 20th. With the Spartanburgers, he posted a 2.19 ERA, a .199 opposing average and 74 strikeouts across 14 starts. In his final five starts in HighA, he notched a 1.93 ERA, eighth best in the South Atlantic League. Lopez made five appearances, including two starts, with Hickory last season before a forearm injury shut him down. He returned to start three out of seven appearances for Surprise in the Arizona Fall League.

BRYAN MAGDALENO

POSITION: LHP | DOB: 2/22/01 | HEIGHT: 6'1" | WEIGHT: 202 HOMETOWN: SANTO DOMINGO, DR Magdaleno was named 2024 Rangers Minor League Reliever of the Year after a dominant season between Low-A Down East, High-A Hickory and Frisco. The southpaw yielded just six earned runs all year, while his .134 batting average against was tied for second among MiLB pitchers (min.

40 innings). From July 3 to Sept. 7, he pitched 19-straight innings without allowing a hit between the three levels. The Santo Domingo, DR native has pitched four seasons in the Rangers organization after signing a Minor League Contract on Aug. 23, 2019.

LUIS MIESES

POSITION: OF | DOB: 5/31/00 | HEIGHT: 6'3" | WEIGHT: 180 HOMETOWN: SANTO DOMINGO, DR The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native signed a Minor League Contract with Texas on Feb. 27, 2024 and re-signed on Nov. 18, 2024.

Mieses spent his first six Minor League seasons with the Chicago White Sox organization, where he was a MiLB.com Organizational All-Star in 2022 with High-A Winston Salem and Double-A Birmingham. After starting 2024 on the 7-day injured list and a rehab stint, he played 83 games between High-A Hickory and Frisco. With the RoughRiders, Mieses batted .281 with six homers and 20 RBI in 33 games.

DANIEL MISSAKI

POSITION: RHP | DOB: 4/9/96 | HEIGHT: 6'0" | WEIGHT: 170 HOMETOWN: SAO PAULO, BRAZIL The 29-year-old from Japan first made headlines when he pitched for Brazil in the 2013 World Baseball Classic at just 16 years old. Fast forward to 2024, Missaki made 20 appearances between ACL Cubs, Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa in 2024, his first Minor League season since 2015 in the Mariners system. That year, he was part of a trade that sent RHP Freddy Peralta and RHP Carlos Herrera to the Brewers for 1B Adam Lind. After being released, he embarked on a pro career overseas, pitching in Japan, Mexico, Brazil and Venezuela and is now back in the states looking to make the big leagues.

TUCKER MITCHELL

POSITION: C | DOB: 2/10/01 | HEIGHT: 6'1" | WEIGHT: 210 HOMETOWN: PALMETTO, FL The 24-year-old backstop was a 14th-round pick by Texas in the 2021 MLB Draft after one year at Florida Atlantic and one year at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. Before college, Mitchell played high school baseball at the prestigious IMG Academy. In 2024, he battled an injury in May, returned to High-A Hickory in late July and played his final 21 games with the RoughRiders. Between ACL Rangers, Hickory and Frisco, Mitchell posted a .624 OPS and hit seven homers.

IAN MOLLER

POSITION: C | DOB: 10/26/02 | HEIGHT: 6'0" | WEIGHT: 190 HOMETOWN: DUBUQUE, IA Moller was a fourth-round pick by the Rangers in 2021 out of Wahlert High School, forgoing a commitment to LSU. After 15 games with ACL Rangers in 2021, Moller played 155 games over the next two seasons with Low-A Down East. He flashed defensively with High-A Hickory in 2024, ranking third in the South Atlantic League with a .989 fielding percentage and tied for seventh with 22 runners caught stealing. His 16 stolen bases led Texas Minor League catchers.

KEYBER RODRIGUEZ

POSITION: SS | DOB: 10/24/00 | HEIGHT: 5'8" | WEIGHT: 178 HOMETOWN: MARACAY, VENEZUELA Rodriguez enters his eighth season in the Rangers organization after signing a Minor League Contract on July 2, 2017. He first reached Frisco in 2023, batting .242 in 41 games. In 2024, he hit .234/.285/.369/.654 while his 139 defensive assists ranked 10th among Texas League shortstops. The Maracay, Venezuela native won the 2021 True Ranger Award, given to the Rangers Minor Leaguer who exemplifies the core values of the organization both on and off the field.

MARCUS SMITH

POSITION: OF | DOB: 9/11/00 | HEIGHT: 5'11" | WEIGHT: 185 HOMETOWN: KANSAS CITY, MO The Kansas City, MO native was originally a third round pick by the Athletics in 2019 before being dealt to the Rangers along with former Rider Dustin Harris for LHP Mike Minor on Sept. 18, 2020. Smith was assigned to Frisco on June 3 after hitting .283 with four homers and 10 RBI’s with Triple-A Round Rock. The 24-year-old speedster has stolen 81 bases in five seasons in the Rangers system, including a career-high 47 in 2022 with Low-A Down East. A star at Pembroke Hill HS (MO), Smith was initially committed to play collegiately at the University of Michigan.

JOSH STEPHAN

POSITION: RHP | DOB: 4/15/02 | HEIGHT: 6'3" | WEIGHT: 185 HOMETOWN: GRAND PRAIRIE, TX Stephan, MLB Pipeline’s No. 30 Rangers prospect, signed as a NonDrafted Free Agent on June 16, 2020, foregoing a commitment to Stephen F. Austin. He broke out in 2023, earning South Atlantic League All-Star honors and a promotion to Frisco. The Grand Prairie, Texas native made one start with the RoughRiders before an injury shut him down the rest of the season. In 2024, Stephan posted a 4.94 ERA across 12 games/11 starts before a UCL sprain ended his season. He re-emerged in the Arizona Fall League and was named to the All-AFL Team.

JOSH TRENTADUE

POSITION: LHP | DOB: 1/25/02 | HEIGHT: 6'2" | WEIGHT: 185 HOMETOWN: RICHMOND, VA The No. 26 prospect in the Rangers system was promoted to Double-A Frisco on July 30, 2025. Through 15 appearances with nine starts in HighA Hub City in 2025, the top-ranked left-handed pitching prospect in the Rangers organization led the South Atlantic League in ERA (1.15) and batting average against (.148) among pitchers with over 50 innings pitched. Across 54.2 innings, Trentadue struck out 71 batters while walking only 18. The 2024 Rangers 14th-round pick spent two seasons at the College of Southern Idaho, where he was the 2023 junior college leader in strikeout rate (16 strikeouts per nine innings).

SEBASTIAN WALCOTT

With Frisco, he batted .348 (8-for-23) in five games. Before Frisco, he was a South Atlantic League All-Star, leading the league with nine triples. Between Hickory and Frisco, he led the Rangers system with 54 extra-base hits and 34 doubles. Baseball America voted him as Texas’ 2024 Minor League Player of the Year, as well as the organization’s Best Power Hitter and Best Infield Arm.

AVERY WEEMS

POSITION: LHP | DOB: 6/6/97 | HEIGHT: 6'2" | WEIGHT: 205 HOMETOWN: FLAGSTAFF, AZ The 27-year-old lefty was a sixth-round pick by the Chicago White Sox in 2019 out of the University of Arizona. That season, he was named a Short Class-A Pioneer League All-Star with the Great Falls Voyagers. Along with RHP Dane Dunning, Weems was dealt to Texas in exchange for RHP Lance Lynn on 12/8/2020. With Frisco in 2022, he ranked third on the team in strikeouts (107). Weems missed 2023 after undergoing “Tommy John” surgery and was limited to seven appearances, including one start, between Hickory and Round Rock due to a different injury in 2024.

AARON ZAVALA

POSITION: OF | DOB: 6/24/00 | HEIGHT: 5'11" | WEIGHT: 193 HOMETOWN: KEIZER, OR The University of Oregon product was a second-round pick by Texas in 2021 – the highest-drafted position player in the Oregon baseball modern era. Zavala was the 2021 Pac-12 Player of the Year and a First Team AllAmerican by five media outlets. After 22 games with ACL Rangers and Low-A Down East in 2021, Zavala was a Baseball America High-A All-Star in 2022 with Hickory, totaling 11 homers and 41 RBI. Zavala has played his last 243 games with Frisco, notching 15 homers and 113 RBI. In 2024, he played a career-high 118 games, hitting .224/.333/.305/.638.
