CARLOSCARDOZA MANAGER

Cardoza enters his third year with the RoughRiders after managing the Riders to an 84-54 record and the Texas League North First Half title in 2024 Frisco’s 609 winning percentage marked the best year in franchise history Cardoza’s 148 wins already rank fourth in franchise history among 10 total managers Before managing Frisco, Cardoza managed High-A Hickory (2020, 2022), Low-A Down East (2021), AZL Rangers (2019) and DSL Rangers 2 (2016-19). In 2023, he piloted the Surprise Saguaros to an Arizona Fall League Title and was bench with Cangrejeros de Santurce of the Puerto Rican Winter League. The San PR native played two years at Georgia State and two years at Armstrong State, where he was a gold glove second baseman.

JULIOVALDEZ PITCHINGCOACH

Julio Valdez joins Frisco after serving as the pitching coach for High-A Hickory in 2024 and with Low-A Down East before that in 2023. Starting his sixth season with the Rangers organization, he had previously held the same role for the Arizona Complex League Rangers (2022) and the Dominican Summer League Rangers (2020-2021) Valdez started his coaching career with his alma mater, Alabama State, in 2017 before transitioning to the Director of Pitching at the s Pitching Institute in El Paso He spent two years at TPI before taking the me role at Baseball Rebellion in Durham, his last stop before joining the Rangers organization

RYANTUNTLAND

HITTING COACH

Tuntland will return to Frisco in 2025 after serving as the club’s hitting coach in both 2023 and 2024 Under Tuntland, the 2024 RoughRiders finished third in franchise history with 150 steals and fifth in walks (481) In 2023, the Riders set franchise records with 680 walks and a .355 team on-base percentage. Starting his fourth season with the Rangers organization, Tuntland was the hitting coach for Hickory in 2022 after serving as the hitting coach for the Arizona Complex League Rangers in 2021. From 2016 to 2018, the Illinois native coached in the egiate ranks at Oakton CC, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Virginia, his alma mater. Tuntland was drafted in the 29th round of the 2013 aft by San Francisco, hitting .227/.345/.338/.683 over his two seasons.

TYLERWOLFE

HITTING COACH

Wolfe will return to the RoughRiders for his second season in Double-A and his third season in the Rangers system In 2023, he served as the hitting coach for the ACL Rangers, helping guide an offense that finished with the second-most total bases in the ACL and tied for the second-most home runs Prior to joining the Rangers, Wolfe served two years as a hitting coordinator at Cressy Sports Performance in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Before that, he coached for two seasons in the St. Louis farm system with the Gulf Coast League Cardinals and spent four seasons as the head coach for Minnesota Blizzard Baseball, a 15U fall league team in Minneapolis/St. Paul. As a player, he was a 39th-round selection by the Astros in 2016 out of Kansas State University, reaching Double-A Corpus Christi.

KAWIKAEMSLEY-PAI BENCHCOACH

Emsley-Pai returns to the RoughRiders in 2025, where he specializes in working with the Frisco catchers. In 2024, Riders’ catchers allowed just 101 steals, tied for the fewest among all full-season MiLB teams, while throwing out 26 percent of potential base stealers. In 2023, RoughRiders' catchers had the second-fewest wild pitches and passed balls in the Texas League After coaching collegiately from 2019-2021 as the head coach of Centralia College in Washington state, he joined the Rangers organization in 2022 with the Hickory Crawdads A former catcher, Emsley-Pai played six seasons in the minor leagues for the ondbacks (2010) and Pirates (2011-15) systems, making his highest stop at Double-A Altoona in 2014

CARSONPHILLIPS BULLPENCOACH

Phillips marks another new face to the staff, joining the Rangers organization for his primary year after serving as a bullpen coach in the Toronto Blue Jays organization for the last two seasons (2023-2024). He was with High-A Vancouver in 2024 and Triple-A Buffalo in 2023 after being a graduate assistant with the University of Arizona baseball team in 2022. Phillips also pitched at California Baptist, San Diego Mesa Community College and Utah Tech (formerly Dixie State).

ATHLETIC TRAINER

Theile heads to Frisco for his first season as well, spending his fourth year within the Rangers organization. The Milwaukee, WI native served as the athletic trainer for the Low-A Down East Wood Ducks in 2024 after being with the ACL affiliate in both 2022 and 2023. After attending both Marquette University and Georgia State (master’s degree), he served as an athletic training fellow at Florida Atlantic University, working with the baseball and cheer teams from June to December 2021

Platts returns to the RoughRiders for his third season in the Rangers organization in 2025 and his second in Frisco In his first year, he was the strength and conditioning coach for the Low-A Down East Wood Ducks before spending a season with the Cubs, working in the Dominican Summer League. The Canada native completed his strength and conditioning internship with the University of Iowa athletic department in 2022 and spent four years with the Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Academy from 2019 through 2022. Platts played two seasons at Southeastern Community College in Iowa.

JOSH HATCHER

POSITION: OF | DOB: 9/3/98 | HEIGHT: 6'1" | WEIGHT: 200

HOMETOWN: ALBANY, GA

The 26-year-old Hatcher was a 10th-round selection by Texas in 2022, reaching Frisco after just 72 games between ACL Rangers and High-A Hickory. In 2023, Hatcher swatted 14 homers in 100 games between Hickory and Frisco Last season, he ranked second among qualified Double-A hitters with a .300 batting average. Hatcher played four years at Mississippi State, where he won the 2021 College World Series title, and one year at Kennesaw State. At KSU, he was a Collegiate Baseball Third Team All-American and First Team All-Atlantic Sun selection, becoming the third NCAA player ever to hit two cycles in the same season.

LARSON KINDREICH

POSITION: LHP | DOB: 6/21/1999 | HEIGHT: 6'4" | WEIGHT: 210

HOMETOWN: MEDFORD, OR

Kindreich was assigned to Frisco on May 2 after going 3-0 and not

allowing an earned run across seven appearances. He picked up the save in his 2025 Riders debut on May 4 versus Wichita In 2024, Kindreich came back from an injury and rehab assignment with ACL Rangers to post a 1 62 ERA with High-A Hickory and earn a promotion to Frisco With the Riders, he held opponents to a .250 average. Kindreich was an eighth round pick by Texas in 2021 out of Division II Biola College (CA), earning NCAA Division II West All-Region First Team honors in 2021

NICK KRAUTH

POSITION: RHP | DOB: 9/6/1999 | HEIGHT: 6'3" | WEIGHT: 170

HOMETOWN: CONCORD, CA

The 25-year-old Krauth is in his fifth season in the Rangers organization after being signed as a Non-Drafted Free Agent on June 15, 2020 Krauth was assigned to Frisco after starting with Triple-A Round Rock, where he made one appearance on April 3 In 2024 with the RoughRiders, he started 17 of 23 games, going 8-7 with a 5.78 ERA. Over the last three seasons, he has made nine appearances, including two starts with Round Rock. Collegiately, Krauth pitched at New Mexico, Diablo Valley Community College (CA) and UCONN. Krauth’s brother Ben pitched six seasons in MiLB, including one in the Texas League with San Antonio. rd

The 28-year-old from San Cristobal, Dominican Republic is back in Minor League Baseball for the first time since 2018 In 2015, Lara signed at 19 years old with the Kansas City Royals. The right-hander pitched in the Royals organization from 2016-18, reaching as high as Class-A Lexington The right-hander returned to the mound last winter with seven scoreless appearances for Leones in the Nicaraguan Winter League, earning a Minor League contract with the Rangers on Jan. 17 . Lobus signed with Texas as a Non-Drafted Free Agent on July 18, 2023 after three seasons at Mercer University and one at Chattanooga State Community College, where he started as a position player In his first Minor League season, Lobus shined in 27 appearances, including 12 starts, between Low-A Down East, High-A Hickory and Frisco. The Marietta, Georgia native posted a 2 96 ERA and 134 strikeouts while his 35 8% strikeout rate ranked second in MiLB (min. 90 IP). Lobus made six appearances for Frisco, including two in the postseason

HOMETOWN: DUBUQUE, IA

Moller was a fourth-round pick by the Rangers in 2021 out of Wahlert High School, forgoing a commitment to LSU. After 15 games with ACL Rangers in 2021, Moller played 155 games over the next two seasons with Low-A Down East. He flashed defensively with High-A Hickory in 2024, ranking third in the South Atlantic League with a .989 fielding percentage and tied for seventh with 22 runners caught stealing His 16 stolen bases led Texas Minor League catchers.

The Chicago Cubs originally signed him in 2017, but he never made an appearance for an affiliate In 2024, Serrano made 27 appearances, including three starts, between High-A Hickory, Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock. In nine appearances and one start with the Riders, he posted a 5 19 ERA and secured two saves The right-hander grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas before moving to Mexico after his freshman year of high school to focus on baseball

Stephan, MLB Pipeline’s No. 21 Rangers prospect, signed as a NonDrafted Free Agent on June 16, 2020, foregoing a commitment to Stephen F. Austin. He broke out in 2023, earning South Atlantic League All-Star honors and a promotion to Frisco. The Grand Prairie, Texas native made one start with the RoughRiders before an injury shut him down the rest of the season. In 2024, Stephan posted a 4.94 ERA across 12 games/11 starts before a UCL sprain ended his season He re-emerged in the Arizona Fall League and was named to the All-AFL Team.

ABIMELEC ORTIZ

HOMETOWN: BAYAMON, PR

Ortiz, MLB Pipeline’s No. 13 Rangers prospect, was signed as a NonDrafted Free Agent on 7/29/21 out of Florida Southwestern State Junior College. In 2023, Ortiz was the High-A South Atlantic League MVP and Tom Grieve Player of the Year, leading MiLB with a .615 slugging percentage and fourth with 33 home runs In 2024 with Frisco, he ranked tied for fourth in the Texas League with 18 homers, including 10 in August The Puerto Rican slugger has clipped 10-plus homers in all four Minor League seasons, amassing 73 total round-trippers.

SEBASTIAN WALCOTT

HOMETOWN: NASSAU, BAHAMAS

Walcott, MLB Pipeline’s No. 1 Rangers and No. 17 overall prospect, became the youngest player in Rangers franchise history to reach the Double-A level in September 2024. With Frisco, he batted .348 (8-for-23) in five games Before Frisco, he was a South Atlantic League All-Star, leading the league with nine triples. Between Hickory and Frisco, he led the Rangers system with 54 extra-base hits and 34 doubles Baseball America voted him as Texas’ 2024 Minor League Player of the Year, as well as the organization’s Best Power Hitter and Best Infield Arm.

AVERY WEEMS

HOMETOWN: FLAGSTAFF, AZ

The 27-year-old lefty was a sixth-round pick by the Chicago White Sox in 2019 out of the University of Arizona That season, he was named a Short Class-A Pioneer League All-Star with the Great Falls Voyagers. Along with RHP Dane Dunning, Weems was dealt to Texas in exchange for RHP Lance Lynn on 12/8/2020. With Frisco in 2022, he ranked third on the team in strikeouts (107). Weems missed 2023 after undergoing “Tommy John” surgery and was limited to seven appearances, including one start, between Hickory and Round Rock due to a different injury in 2024.

TOWN: KEIZER, OR
