Entrance Requirements

Successful transfer applicants will demonstrate an ability to handle a full-time course load of 12 to 15 credits per semester . In general, Rider is looking for a 2.50 minimum cumulative GPA: (2.75 for education majors and 3.0 for science majors).

Students whose GPAs fall outside of that range are still encouraged to apply as we also consider other factors such as grade trend, performance in major-related courses, etc.

Scholarships

Applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. Scholarships are typically awarded based on a comprehensive review of a student’s GPA from all colleges or universities attended.

PTK members receive an extra $5,000. Fall 2026 & Spring 2027

Financial Aid

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be submitted every to obtain Financial Aid. Filing by Rider University’s priority deadline, February 1, 2026, maximizes your eligibility for financial aid. Rider’s federal school code is 002628 . Apply for Admission

Transfer students may apply for the Fall or Spring semesters using either the Common Application or Rider’s online application at rider.edu/admissions/transfer/how-to-apply It is free to apply to Rider as a transfer student and there is no fee waiver code needed.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling admissions basis and can take 1-2 weeks to be reviewed once all materials are submitted in the Be-A-Bronc Applicant Dashboard. The application includes: the application; essay; official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended; and official high school transcripts if a student has completed fewer than 30 college level credits.*

Transferring Credits

Rider accepts transfer credits from most regionally accredited colleges and universities. Students who apply and send an official transcript will receive an official evaluation of credits within a few days of being admitted to Rider.

Credits are evaluated and posted in DegreeWorks , allowing students to see how their courses transfer to their degree program at Rider and what courses remain to be completed. To request an unofficial credit evaluation, visit rider.edu/transfer-credit-evaluation
