MOVE-IN HELP » R esidential Education and University Housing staff will be on hand to answer questions and distribute keys.

Move-in Day Move-in welcomes hundreds of students and families to campus. To keep the process running smoothly, each student receives a specific move-in date (based on housing assignment). They will be given a timeframe to arrive within based on the location of their room (hall and floor) and they must arrive within that time frame. (Your 15-minute time slot is your arrival window, not your total move-in time.)

What to expect when you arrive 1.

Unload first. Family or friends should unload belongings onto the sidewalk near your hall.

2.

Student check-in. Head to the check-in area for your building to receive your room key and details.

3.

Quick stop. Parking in front of residence halls is limited to 15 minutes during check-in.

4.

Room review. Once you’re in your room, make note of any issues and bring them to your RA or hall staff during your first community meeting.

» Your Resident Assistant and Area Coordinator are excited to meet you and support you during your first moments on campus. Please stay tuned for more information about a welcome floor meeting and events to help you connect with others. We recommend bringing helpers to make move-in quicker and easier. MOVE-IN PARKING INSTRUCTIONS After students unload their belongings to their residence halls, they should park in the student spaces next to the Bart Luedeke Center (BLC). During Move-in Day, Public Safety and the Residential Education and University Housing staff will direct you into available parking spaces. LATE MOVE-IN Can’t arrive during your assigned window? Email reslife@rider.edu with your expected arrival before the semester begins. Late move-in will only be approved to move in on a weekday during business hours unless they have their Rider Ready pass in hand. If you don’t notify us, you risk being marked as a no-show and losing your housing assignment. RIDER UNIVER SITY | 2026-27

Early Arrival NEW FOR THIS YEAR, Rider has introduced a two-part Early Arrival Process:

OPTION 1: REQUESTING EARLY ARRIVAL Students not affiliated with a campus group can request to move in early by submitting a form in the Housing Portal. Students will be provided a day that they are able to move-in once requested and approved through sending an email. Requests must be submitted by July 31. $200 Early Arrival Housing Fee Students will be required to purchase an Early Arrival Meal Plan of either a 12 Meal Plan ($160) or an 8 Meal Plan ($120). Some students may also have their groups cover all or a portion of the meal costs during Early Arrival. »

Request must be submitted by August 1.

»

Students arriving early without approval will be fined per unauthorized day based on their scheduled date and time.

OPTION 2: PRE-APPROVED GROUP ARRIVAL If you’re part of a pre-approved campus group, you will be emailed with instructions on your move-in date and time based on your group and their request. There will be no added cost for this group and meals will be covered for these students OR the organization you are associated with will be covering these expenses.
