This project is to design a middle school in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The first step of the project was developing a ‘design language’ through representations of time and space through Red Hook’s history. This assembly grid was then utilized to create form and space through various levels.

this project uses a variety of ‘bridges’ on multiple levels to change what it means to have a conventional school. The bridges allow access from various heights and blend indoor and outdoor spaces not unlike video games, which helps maintain a whimsical atmosphere that tries to veer away from conventional schools with experimental materiality.
