Rick Torrey of Killington is the retired founder and CEO behind Basin Sports, Out Of Bounds Snowboard Shop, and True Wheels Bike Shop. Also referred to as Richard Torrey, he built his professional path around his deep interest in skiing and mountain biking. Rick Torrey’s Early Years
He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, and relocated with his family to Ludlow at an early age. He demonstrated a strong work ethic from the beginning by taking on various jobs. His responsibilities included bailing boats, cutting lawns, babysitting, and painting houses. In addition to these tasks, he managed two steady newspaper routes.
