Michele Compa is an expert when it comes to addressing the needs of young, energetic children. She has been the director of the Summer Performing Arts Workshop for more than 40 years.

Designed for 3- to 6-year-olds, this program — which runs twice a week during the summer — offers gymnastics, creative dance, jazz, tap, music, and arts and crafts classes. In addition to all the activities, little tots learn to interact, and make some best friends, too.

By the time each day’s session ends at 12:15 p.m., the children have had a full day of activity, with juice for energy. The workshop accommodates up to 20 young children, divided into two groups. Bouncing, rolling, tapping, jumping and singing participation is fulfilling for any youngster who loves activity.

Compa has a master’s degree in dance education from New York University.

She started the camp because she wanted a diversified program in an informal setting for little ones. Her studio is fully equipped with mats and ballet bars.

It also serves as a full-time dance program venue throughout the year for children and adults.

The Brooklyn Nets have been an exciting basketball team for more than 50 years. Beginning in New Jersey as part of the ABA, the team has undergone a number of changes over the years.

However, whether in Newark or its current home of Brooklyn, the Nets continue to strive to create a sense of community for its fans.

The academy philosophy strives to develop the person as well as the court player, encouraging all campers to be the better versions of themselves in everything they do. Club values are interlinked to its success and history by nurturing young talent, by placing an importance on life skills, and developing the right character to create a platform for campers to be successful in the sport, and in everyday life.

Girls and boys between 6 and 17 learn from experienced coaches trained the “Nets Way.” The camp’s full-day experiences accommodate all skill levels.
