GymCats.net

Founded more than 30 years ago with the main goal of creating athletes as well as the foundation for them to succeed both in and out of sports.

Classes start as young as 20 months, and continue to challenge them well into their teens in the most modern, fully equipped facility in southern New York state. It is centrally located in Yonkers, the Hastings and Dobbs Ferry areas.

No other summer day program can offer quality instruction by experts in beginner through advanced gymnastics all year long. While their program offers a fun-filled good time, it also enriches the development of children by providing attitudes and skills that carry over in many of life’s activities.

The goal is to build a physical and mental foundation for all sports, and to promote athleticism and good health through participation in gymnastics. There is a low student-to-teacher ratio. All students are grouped by age.

Located within the same facility, the Ninja obstacle course adds another layer of athleticism and fun to our camp day. Campers will run their hardest to get up the warped wall and test their balance, strength and problem solving skills to make it through the many obstacle course options. Their self-confidence and motivation will be enhanced by the support and cheering of their instructors and fellow campers.

What better way to give your son a leg up on the competition than by having him perform under the tutelage of Westchester’s premier scholar-athletes?

Iona Preparatory is the three-time defending LoHud.com Sports’ Tom Whelan Private School of the Year and routinely beats national averages when it comes to college commitments. Already this year, 23 scholar-athletes have committed to schools such as Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, UPenn and Yale.

They represent 14 percent of their class, double the national average, with an incredible 9 percent going to Division I schools, more than four times the national average. Even more impressively, those 23 scholarathletes have a combined GPA of over 91.

Now is the time to get prepared for summer by learning more about the school’s summer sports clinics in baseball, basketball, football, soccer and wrestling spanning 10 weeks from June 26-Aug. 11, including five straight after the Fourth of July.

Baseball, basketball and football kick things off June 26-30. Then, following a break for Independence Day, wrestling hits the mat July 10 - 14. From there they have three straight weeks of Total Tech Soccer from July 17-Aug. 4, with the second and third sessions of basketball overlapping July 24-Aug. 4. Baseball closes out our summer sports clinic season by bookending with a final session from Aug. 7-11.

And they all take place across Iona Prep’s expansive 37-acre collegiate-style campus. What better way for your son to spend his summer days than in the company of the brotherhood of Iona men?

Bouncing, rolling, tapping, jumping and singing participation is fulfilling for any youngster who loves activity.
