Though geographically close to New York City, Franklin Square and Elmont each has ample parks and attractions for residents to escape the constant grind. Historic Belmont Park in Elmont is more than a racetrack. It’s also for kids and parents to picnic and play on the sprawling grounds of the 430-acre park. Rath Park in Franklin Square is the central hub for residents looking for a relaxing afternoon.

Residents can catch a summer show sponsored by the Franklin Square Civic Association, or play a pick-up game of basketball.
