Freeport Parks
Outdoor recreational spaces have become an essential part of the daily routines of many during this pandemic. Thankfully, the village of Freeport offers residents and outsiders six parks to choose from: Bishop Frank O. White Park, Glacken Park, Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, Randall Park, Sea Breeze Park, and Water Front Park. Under Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s direction and PAUSE restrictions last year, Freeport’s parks were closed until the Memorial Day weekend. Now the parks and their playgrounds, courts and other amentias remain open to the public and have housed several, small community events throughout the year. Some of the parks also served as training areas for Freeport students during the school district’s workout program, so as to avoid crowding at the districts fields. Park employees are also required
