rincipal Darren Raymar of Covert Elementary School is known for his unique hairstyles. “When I had blue hair, students would ask me why I chose blue,” Raymar said. “My response was simply because I like the color. Now with pink hair, when asked why I choose pink, I have an opportunity to educate my elementary students about Breast Cancer Awareness.” Covert Elementary School students recently created get-well cards and collected donations for a community member whose breast cancer had returned. “I want to educate my students about these important issues in a way they can understand,” Raymar said. “The first step is talking about it, and the pink hair starts the conversation.”
