North Shore Board of Education candidates state their cases By MIKE CONN mconn@liherald.com

There are three candidates running for two open spots on the North Shore Central School District Board of Education. Incumbent Richard Galati is hoping to serve a second term on the board, while newcomers Andrea Macari and Robert Mazzella are campaigning to join the

board for the first time. Trustee Joanna Commander has decided not to run for reelection after serving for six years. Ballots for the vote on the district’s $110.3 million 2020-21 budget, and the school board election, were sent out May 22, and must be returned to the district office by June 9.
