HuNdrEdS of rESIdENTS marched from Oceanside High School to the Schoolhouse Green for the 20th anniversary 9/11 ceremony.

For 20 years after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center, Oceanside has kept its promise to “never forget.” That was evident from the hundreds of residents who marched from Oceanside High School to the Schoolhouse Green to pay tribute to those lost that day. OHS teachers Jason Manning and Todd Nussen planned the day in recent months, but were originally inspired by a trip to the 9/11 Memorial Muse-

At the briefing meeting on Sept. 9, Senior Vice President of Communications Joe Calderone said 600 metro-area residents took part in the poll. Of the vaccinated group, which comprised 84 percent of participants, 75 percent said they would get a vaccine booster shot if one were

Dr. Aaron Glatt, MSSN’s chairman of medicine, said new studies have shown that the third shot could help people with underlying health conditions develop a stronger immune response to the virus. “If we had this infor mation, which we

didn’t have when the vaccines first came out, we’d actually recommend that these people take three doses right away,” Glatt said on Sept. 9. Dr. Adhi Sharma, MSSN’s new president, was heartened by the 75 percent figure, as a Mount Sinai poll last October indicated that more than 50 percent of Continued on page 11
