Solemn tribute to America’s heroes The Village of Malverne and greater West Hempstead community held Veterans Day events to honor those who served and those who are currently serving America on Nov. 11. In West Hempstead, Congregation Shaaray Shalom held its annual Veterans Shabbat Program with a special guest, Jewish war veteran Sheila Berg, who spoke about her 29 years of experience in the military.
