The shimmering dresses were outshone only by the beaming students. Daria Rose, a Harvard University graduate, a current student at Yale Law School and a former contestant on the hit ABC series “The Bachelor” shared words of advice with a packed room of female students at Sewanhaka High School last Friday, and donated dresses she purchased for the reality show to students. Rose, a Baldwin resident, spent $4,000 on clothes and

accessories for the show — enough for 10 to 12 weeks of filming — only to be eliminated in the first week of competition. “I thought to myself, I have so many clothes that I’m not going to wear … what better to do than a giveaway?’” Rose, 25, said. “I’d love to give some amazing, deserving girls new dresses.” A video she posted on TikTok, explaining how much she spent, went viral, and soon young women began to reach out in droves to her via Instagram and other social media platforms to find out if

she planned to give away or sell her dresses. Rose donated eight dresses, which are now headed to prom and formal events for Sewanhaka students, at last week’s get-together. After her comments, the students got a look at the dresses up close. They were excited about the prospect of taking them home, and a teacher from the high school explained that it would soon announce how they would be given away.
