Nina Bernat and Jiarong li a hit at library concert There was no shortage of classical, instrumental music this weekend in East Meadow. The talents of Nina Bernat, an acclaimed double bassist who studies at the Julliard School, and Chinese pianist Jiarong Li, filled the auditorium and halls of the East Meadow Public Library. Bernat’s talents have touched worldwide audiences, and thus, her arrival in East Meadow was a welcomed event. She’s currently a member of the Bowers Program — a three-season residency that integrates musicians into the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in Manhattan. The library thanked both Bernat and Li for a tremendous show. Above, Bernat during the performance on Jan. 14. Right, Li and Bernat. Story, more photos, Page 10.
