Richmond Montessori School is thrilled to welcome you and your young adventurers to Falcon Explorers Summer Camp! Get ready for a summer filled with exciting adventures, new friendships, and unforgettable experiences. We are excited to announce that students over the age of 6+ in the Richmond area are welcome to join our Elementary + Middle School Camps! You should register your child based on the grade they will enter in Fall 2024.

Camps will run from 9:00am-3:00pm with an extended care option until 5:00pm available on a weekly basis.

In April, registrants will receive a detailed handbook with information on the staff working that particular week, forms for registration (due no later than June 1st. 2024), and items your child will need to pack for camp.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Registration closes March 22nd, 2024 at noon. If a camp does not meet minimum number requirements, those camps will be canceled and registrants will be notified and refunded on March 29th, 2024.

In order to receive a full refund, Summer Camp enrollment must be withdrawn or canceled on or before May 3, 2024. Summer Camp cancellation requests made on May 4, 2024 until May 31st, 2024, shall receive only a 50% refund. Any cancellations made after the last date allowed for cancellation shall be considered forfeited in favor of the camp and will not receive a refund or credit. All withdrawals and cancellations must be received in writing to summer@richmont.org.

Camp registrations cannot be transferred to another student

No refunds or credits will be given due to illness (including COVID-19).

READY,SET,ACTION!MOVIE&PLAYCAMP

Rooted in the Montessori philosophy, this camp combines the principles of self-directed learning with the magic of storytelling and filmmaking. Throughout the week, your child will delve into the art of cinematography, exploring various aspects of movie making, from scriptwriting to acting, and even trying their hand at behind-the-scenes roles like directing and editing short films. Join us for a week of cinematic exploration where young imaginations take center stage, creating lasting memories and fostering a love for the art of storytelling through film!

MAGICIANS&SPIESCAMP

Ready for a mind blowing experience? In the mornings, campers will transform into secret agents with spy-themed activities, code-breaking challenges, and obstacle courses to enhance problem-solving skills. In the afternoons, campers will explore the wonderful world of magic. Campers can explore tricks, illusions, and even hosting a magical performance at the end of the week to showcase their new skills!

THREE-DIMENSIONALARTCAMP

This camp invites children to explore the world of threedimensional art through sculpture and kinetic mobile projects. Throughout the week, your child will engage in dynamic activities, sculpting with various materials, experimenting with balance and movement in kinetic mobile creations, and even studying the works of famous sculptors. Campers will foster artistic expression, develop fine motor skills, and cultivate an appreciation for the principles of balance and form. Join us for a week of artistic exploration, where young sculptors bring their imaginations to life!

MINDFULMORNINGS+CELESTIALCRAFTSCAMP

Embark on a cosmic journey this summer for our Celestial Craft and Mindfulness Camp, where creativity and mindfulness meet to create an out-of-this-world experience. Inspired by the beauty of the cosmos, our crafting sessions will immerse them in a world of celestial wonders and imaginative exploration. The mindfulness sessions will guide campers through yoga, meditation, and relaxation exercises. A perfect blend of creativity, science, and mindfulness for a well-rounded summer experience!

Grounded in the Montessori philosophy, this camp combines the joy of outdoor exploration with the wonder of artistic expression and crystal discovery. Throughout the week, your child will engage in nature-inspired art projects, using natural materials to create beautiful masterpieces, and embark on crystal exploration journeys, learning about geology and crystal formation. Campers will immerse themselves in the beauty of the outdoors, cultivating a deep connection with nature, developing artistic skills, and fostering a fascination for the wonders of crystals.

At our International Cooking and Culture Camp, your child will discover the art of culinary creation while unraveling the rich tapestry of global traditions. Beyond the kitchen, our campers will embark on an exciting exploration of global cultures Engaging activities and interactive learning will transport them to far-off places, fostering a deep appreciation for the customs, traditions, and histories that shape our world.

Rooted in the Montessori philosophy, this camp invites children to explore the rich biodiversity of Virginia's natural habitats. Throughout the week, your child will engage in hands-on activities such as nature walks to observe local flora and fauna, creating nature-inspired art, and participating in interactive lessons on the ecosystems unique to Virginia Campers will not only develop a deep connection with the environment but also enhance their understanding of the interconnectedness of all living things. Join us for a week of outdoor exploration, where young naturalists will foster love for learning and a lasting appreciation for Virginia's diverse and beautiful natural world!

In the mornings, our campers will turn nature into their canvas as they paint, draw, and create with inspiration from the Great Outdoors! Nature's Canvas Camp goes beyond traditional art forms. Campers will use natural materials to sculpt and weave, telling stories through their unique outdoor creations. In the afternoons, our campers will transform the great outdoors into their photography playground. From the Wishing Woods, to the Playground every corner becomes an opportunity to capture the beauty of nature through their lens.

Campers will step back in time as they visit iconic landmarks, explore trails and even Richmonds food scene! Students will hop on the RMS bus around the city, unlocking its secrets and treasures! Once campers return to campus, they will dive into the captivating world of science, conducting hands-on experiments, unraveling the mysteries of the cosmos, and exploring the wonders of the natural world. From chemistry concoctions to astronomy adventures, each day promises an immersive scientific quest!

FASHIONWEEKEXPERIENCE

During this camp we will celebrate self-expression and creativity through the art of fashion! Throughout the week, your child will immerse themselves in the world of design, engaging in exciting projects such as crafting their own fashion sketches, creating unique accessories, and even organizing a mini fashion show to showcase their personalized collections. Campers will not only explore the principles of design but also develop teamwork, fine motor skills, and a sense of personal style. Join us for a week of runway-ready fun, where young fashion enthusiasts shine as they design, create, and celebrate their unique sense of style!

FASHIONWEEKEXPERIENCE

Campers will kick off each day with hands-on workshops, learning the art of sketching, fabric types, and garment creations. From making mood boards to developing their unique designs, the runway becomes a canvas for their imagination. Engage in thrilling DIY fashion challenges, pushing creativity to the limits. From upcycling old garments to creating trendy accessories, campers will transform everyday materials into fashionable creations. The camp will close with a camp-wide RMS MET fashion show! Parents/caregivers are welcome!

GREATERRICHMONDSCHOOLOFMUSICCAMPS 9AM-12PM**

Mini Musical Camp: In this camp, students will create their own musical by taking scenes from multiple musicals and putting them together for a performance on the final day of camp. Campers will work on vocals, acting and stage presence, focusing on one area each day, incorporating fun exercises and games. To top it off, they will also work on creating costumes.

Intro to Music Sampler: Find your new passion in this weeklong adventure through the world of music. Designed for those who are new to music, students will experiment with various instruments, and experience various music styles. In-class use of piano, guitar, ukulele, and percussion are included in this camp. Learn basic music theory, ear training and rhythm while finding your musical voice!

**There is an afternoon offering from 12pm-3pm as well as an extended day option until 5pm.

Campers will embark on thrilling literary journeys as they dive into the pages of their favorite stories. From fairy tales to adventurous quests, every day is a new chapter filled with excitement and wonder! Encouraging self-expression, campers will engage in storytelling bonanzas, where they create and share their own tales. From group storytelling circles to individual adventures, their imaginations will take center stage. In the afternoons campers will explore a wide array of board games, from classics to the latest releases! Games will encourage strategic planning and critical thinking skills!
