Richland Library was awarded an Institute of Museum and Library Services National Leadership Grant titled “Fresh Food, Fresh Thinking” to address three challenges in the Lower Richland community food insecurity, limited access to library resources including broad band access and limited learning opportunities for teenagers.
Working hand-in-hand with Lower Richland High School, the library brought together local experts, teachers, students and library staff to envision a hybrid community space that would house both a public library and a farmers market.
