Nakell Matthews is the Quality Assurance Consultant for the WIC Program at the South Carolina Department of Public Health. With over 25 years of experience in state government, she is responsible for overseeing Federal Civil Rights compliance for the WIC Program within the South Carolina Department of Public Health. WIC is a SpecialSupplementalNutritionProgramforWomen,Infants,andChildren,anessentialprogramtosupportfood securityinSCandacrossthenation.
Nakell is a dedicated community leader with a distinguished track record of service most notably as the Immediate Past Chair of the Fortitude Foundation Inc. Board of Directors. During her five-year tenure as Chair, sheplayedapivotalroleinexpandingprograms,securingmajorfunding,andissettingtheorganizationontrack withstrategicplanning.
She currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Farmers Market Nutrition Programs where she represents agencies from throughout the nation in making a positive impact on ensuring access to healthy foods and nutrition education for underserved populations. She has been a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated for 37 years and is an active member of the Richland County AlumnaeChapter,wheresheservedasthechapter’ssixthPresident.
Nakell is a graduate of South Carolina State University and holds a degree in Marketing. As a demonstration of herstrongcommitmentanddedicationtoherAlmaMater,shecontinuestobeanactivememberoftheGreater Columbia Chapter of the South Carolina State University Alumni Association. Nakell loves outdoor activities for bothexerciseandrelaxation.Shealsoenjoysdancing,reading,andcaringforherfamily.SheresidesinColumbia and is a native of Lane, SC. Dr. Kendreia Dickens-Carr is a board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist who is currently the Vice Chair of Medical Staff Affairs and Quality in the OB/GYN department at Prisma Health in Columbia, SC Clinically she serves as the Lead OB Hospitalist at Prisma Richland which is the Regional Perinatal Center for the 16-county Midlands region of South Carolina She is a member of the academic faculty and has an appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Duke University in 1994 and her medical doctorate from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) in 2000. She completed her residency in 2004 at New York Medical College. Dr. Dickens-Carr practiced in Nevada before transitioning to Columbia in 2022. She has worked in private practice; but for the last 12 years of her career has served as an OB Hospitalist caring forhigh-risk OBpatientsinvariousregional perinatal centers.
In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing with her family and participating in activities with her sorority sisters as she is an active member of the Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta SigmaThetaSorority Inc.
Vyce Johnson

Hailing from the great city of Columbia, SC, veteran educator, author, and playwright Vyce Moses Johnson, is someone you should know. Vyce is the creative genius behind VMJ Creates. Creative, imaginative, and innovative are three words often used to describe her wide array of gifts and talents.
Shattered, Covered, Restored, her debut novel, was birthed from a stage play of the same name In this book, you are introduced to the Caplin family as they confront past secrets on the winding road to restoration. You will fall in love with this family and their story. Vyce's second release, Still Miracles, is her family’s story of infant loss and adoption. This is one sure to tug at your heart. She is working on novels, Functional Secrets and Wooden Pews & Soft Peppermints, also birthed from stage plays
Having matriculated through the halls of academia, Vyce earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (Winthrop University), Master of Education in Reading & Literacy (USC-Columbia), Master of Science in Integrating Technology in the Classroom (Walden University), and a Graduate Certificate in Educational Media & Design Technology (Full Sail University).

Tiffany is the Chief Strategist for 410 Consulting Firm, an organization dedicated to connecting communities, organizations, government and businesses for change and impact Tiffany has 14 years of dedicated experience in public health and nonprofit sectors, working on statewide and nationally focused projects Her experience ranges from the state, the federal government, and community-based organizations in public health programming, implementation of populationbased interventions, and federal/private grant management. Specifically, Tiffany has worked on project teams to help acquire, implement, and evaluate almost 109 million dollars in grant funding within the state of South Carolina; convening stakeholders for planning and implementing population-level public health programming in diabetes and heart disease and family planning/contraceptivecare.
