20th Anniversary of Pine Valley Token Hunt Pine Valley would like to thank our cosponsor: WRCO-Fruit Broadcasting for another great job of advertising Pine Valley’s annual token hunt. This year was the 20th Anniversary and the basket value reached over $900!! The token was found on day 5 by Patty Grell. The token was hidden in North Park in the trunk of the little red car (children’s toy that springs back and forth). Thank you to all who went out searching for the Token, we’re glad that we had some days of decent weather to cooperate with us during this exciting event so the people of Richland County could get out and enjoy some outdoor time while it was nice. January 9, 2017 Robert (Bob) Emmett Connors, age 73, of Richland Center passed away at his home on January 9, 2017 of an apparent heart attack. He was the oldest of four children born to Raymond R. and Phyllis L. (Wood) Connors on October 10, 1943. Bob was a 1961 graduate of Richland Center High School. After graduation, he entered the Air Force on September 7, 1961. Bob performed electronic intelligence for 22 years in various foreign and stateside posts including Turkey, Japan, and England as well as Michigan, Ohio, Florida and Alaska. He retired on September 30, 1983 at the rank of Master Sargent. While in the service he earned an Associate Degree in Communications Technology. Decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the AF Outstanding Unit Award with two Oak Leaf Clusters and the AF Organizational Excellence Award. He attended Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio where he obtained his second Associate Degree in Mental Health Technology in 1986. Bob then went to work for the Montgomery County, Ohio Department of Social Services as a mental health technician and later as a case worker. In 1993 Bob was on his way to bowling league on his motorcycle when he was hit by a car and left for dead. The driver was never found. After several months in the hospital he was finally released. The accident left him with limited use of his legs and chronic pain which he didn’t discuss with his friends. In 1998 he left Ohio and moved back to his child-

hood home in Richland Center where his mother still lived. He enjoyed reconnecting with old classmates and friends and meeting new people. As a hobby, he took up documenting the family genealogy. He was proud of his Irish roots and looked forward to St. Patrick’s Day every year. Bob was a NASCAR, Brewer, Badger, and Packer fan. He enjoyed the classic old horror movies and was a trivia expert on almost any movie. He was an avid reader and loved computer games. He joined the Bayard de Hart American Legion Post 13 and became a lifetime member as well as the 40 et 8. Bob was a fervent patriot and supported the Legion as a loyal patron and contributed to its many fundraisers. It was a favorite haunt of his and he enjoyed sharing his wit and wisdom with his many friends there. He would be pleased if you would continue to support the Legion and make your donations in his name. He was a believer and loved his God, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond, mother Phyllis, and brother Terence John Connors. He is survived by his son Robert (Rob) Nathaniel Connors and his wife Jessica of Ohio; grandchildren Kirsten, Katelyn, Autumn and Brandon Connors; great- grandchild Kolin; sister Sheila (Kerry) Melby; brother Patrick Connors of Richland Center; nephews: Zachary (Kathy) Melby, Casey Connors and Dillon Connors; niece Angela McClimans and son Connor; aunts: Alta (Moore) Connors, Margaret (Connors) Hamsing and Eleanor Connors; many cousins and dear friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Richland Center, WI. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:30 AM. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Local Military Memorial Honor Unit at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in the Richland Center, WI. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be made at prattfuneralservice.com.
