By preventing this feeding activity, we prevent the transmission of the disease-causing agents the parasites may carry. Be vigilant in monitoring your pets for fleas, ticks, and mosquitos and remember that any you DO see represents a much smaller number than the ones you DON’T. An annual supply of flea/tick and heartworm preventatives provide another tool to help maintain and protect the overall health of your fuzzy family members, and there are often monetary incentives to buy them in bulk.
