Residents moved out after cracks appear in flats

Residents in a Filton flats block were moved out after ‘significant cracks’ developed over the course of a day. Some people were moved to hotels and others moved in with relatives after housing association provider Merlin closed part of the block in Shellard Road in order to carry out tests. One Merlin tenant has been offered an alternative home. Merlin said it was a combination of foundations dug originally, trees and the dry summer we had.
