The chief executive of the largest schools trust for Filton has criticised the area's MP for missing a debate on schools funding. Dave Baker, chief executive of the Olympus Trust which incudes Abbeywood Community School, Filton Hill Primary and Charborough Road Primary, took to Twitter to express his concern after Jack Lopresti failed to attend the debate - taking part in Brexit discussions instead. Mr Baker said: "We are in the lowest-funded local authority in the country and our MP was apparently not present for the debate about school funding." Mr. Lopresti said: “Unfortunately I was unable to attend the Westminster Hall debate on school funding because I was in a meeting as part of my Government role assisting the Brexit Secretary. "I believe it is absolutely vital that Brexit is delivered and I felt I would be letting constituents down to abandon these duties Turn to Page 2
