The Music center is located at the juncture of the campus and the city, where three abandoned teachers' dormitories were present.

The border of universities campus has always been definitive. Nonetheless, students and the community communicate and connect considerably more frequently nowadays. However, the lack of platforms, especially in the creative field between campus and society, would impede this objective. Therefore, the general idea is to create an interface between the campus and the urban context, emphasizing the urban edge while encouraging communication between students and society.

The form and programming take inspiration from the Berlin wall. However, in contrast to the wall that rips communities apart, This design tries to connect. Instead of mines and anti-tanks, different interaction platforms fill the space between the two divisions. The reference to the old array of the old dormitories is then made evident regarding the organization of the external volumes arranged according to the axis of campus and urban context. Two juxtapositioning walls separate the masses, emphasizing the urban context while defining a space for interactions.

The side bordering the campus would be the music-producing and rehearsal studios, providing plenty of places for students to create. Discussion/meeting areas cantilever over the site and penetrate both walls to overlook the surrounding city.

The structure of the abandoned teachers’ dormitory will be modified into a cafe overlooking one of the two venues, increasing the chances for the students’ creations to be seen.

Two different sizes of music venues encourage the students to showcase their work to the community.
