Views sought over new M4 junction plans EXHIBITIONS are set to take place in Yate and Westerleigh after controversial plans for a new motorway junction on the M4 revealed a second location option for the project. A consultation exercise has just started into the two options now being considered - the initial “western” site at Emersons Green and the surprise “eastern” location near Westerleigh. A campaign against the eastern site was started as soon as the details were revealed, with villagers in Pucklechurch speaking out against it and two local Conservative MPs - Luke Hall for Thornbury and Yate and Kingswood’s Chris Skidmore saying they would not support it. However, South Gloucestershire Council said the study was in its very early stages. No decisions had been made, no funding agreed and there was no preferred option for the junction.
