Cycle lanes rolled out CYCLE lanes are being installed on the main road into Yate as part of moves to "make sustainable travel a more attractive option". South Gloucestershire Council started work to install the lanes in both directions on the A432 Station Road on August 24, as part of an 18-month trial before it decides whether they should be made permanent.
The new lanes between B&Q and the council's offices are being funded by the government as part of its response to the coronavirus crisis. The council says it has monitored the area and found many cyclists currently use the pavement rather than the road. Turn to page 4
