School principal steps down at Yate Academy THE principal of Yate Academy has left his role just four months after the school became part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust (GLT). Paul Skipp had held the position since September 2015 but has now left to “pursue other senior leadership interests”. The chairman of governors, Darren Reynolds, said Mr Skipp had led the school through a number of changes, including the transfer to Greenshaw after nine years of being part of the Ridings’ Federation of Academies. Mike Cooper, chairman of GLT, said: “We are extremely grateful for all the work that Paul has undertaken in driving improvements in both the primary and the secondary school and we wish him well for the future. “Paul leaves Yate Academy in a good position and with the team that’s in place and the support of the trust ,it will continue on its journey of improvement.”

Mr Skipp said: "Yate Academy is an inspirational and unique school and it will always retain a special place in my heart. However, I can leave in peace
