CONSAC, 25 YEARS & GROWING September 24th, 2010 marks the 25th anniversary of Consac-Imagemakers. For all you old timers, you can see the dramatic differences that have taken place in our industry since our first show back in 1985 inside the lobby of the Constellation Hotel. LED’s and wide format print were but a few of the technologies not yet invented. Since 1985, Consac-Imagemakers has shown steady growth with the exception of 2009 when a global economic downturn rocked our industry. Despite the adversity, we still delivered a great show to the delight of both exhibitors and delegates. I am extremely pleased to report the 25th anniversary of Consac-Imagemakers 2010 is poised to deliver on par with that of our best year in 2008. SAC is delighted to welcome 29 first time exhibitors to the show this year. Our new home at the International Centre should provide the perfect venue in which to celebrate our silver anniversary show. We have several top notch seminars scheduled in addition to a fabulous Toronto Island Dinner Cruise on the Mariposa Belle Friday evening and of course, our Annual Don Morgan Memorial Golf Tournament will kick off the show on Thursday, September 23rd. Our Annual General Meeting and Sign Competition Awards Breakfast will get underway on Saturday morning. As part of our new approach to the AGM, a renewed emphasis has been placed on delivering a frank, honest, and accountable presentation of SAC’s day-to-day operations during the past 12 months. We believe transparency is critical for future growth. An open Q&A will follow the reporting with the annual sign competition awards presentation rounding out the program. This will be an opportunity to meet the board members and engage in an open dialogue on all current and planned initiatives within the association. In closing, I would like to convey my deep sense of pride in serving as your board president of this great industry association. At this time I would like to extend a personal invitation to each and every one to join in the 25th anniversary celebrations of Consac-Imagemakers.
