LETTER FROM THE CLUB MANAGER

Dear Members,

I couldn’t be more excited to be here at Bradenton Country Club It’s been wonderful meeting so many of you and seeing firsthand what makes this community so special I’m eager to build on that strong foundation with improvements that make your time here even better

In my first few weeks, we’ve made several updates around the club We created a new outdoor seating area with a fire pit just outside the restaurant, giving you a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy meals with friends We’ve also transformed the kiddy pool area into a space for yard games like cornhole, adding more fun activities for all ages.

You may have noticed enhanced lighting throughout the building and new uplighting by the pool to create an inviting evening atmosphere Our team deep cleaned all restrooms and repainted the pool restroom floors for a fresher, cleaner feel We’ve also touched up paint throughout the club to keep everything looking its best

Behind the scenes, I’ve met with our vendors to ensure we’re getting the best pricing and quality, and we’ve brought in new companies to provide better products at lower costs We’ve completed updates to the pool café as well, making it a more enjoyable spot for everyone to gather and unwind.

Looking ahead, I’m working with Red to connect with local realtors and new developments, and we’re exploring the idea of hosting an open house mix-and-mingle to introduce more potential members to our wonderful club We’ve also ordered new signs for the pool, restaurant, café, and playground to clearly communicate hours, age, and weight limits for everyone’s safety

Thank you all for your warm welcome I look forward to meeting more of you in the coming weeks and continuing to make Bradenton Country Club the best it can be.

See you around the club!

LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR OF GOLF

Dear BCC Members,

Thank you all for your continued patience and support as we’ve worked to restore the Golf Shop following the recent flooding We’re excited to share that we’re nearly back to full functionality and look forward to welcoming you into a refreshed and improved space

As part of these updates, we’re proud to introduce our new "Kids' Corner" in the Golf Shop! This dedicated area features junior apparel and gear from Adidas, FootJoy, Travis Mathew, Turtles and Tees, along with stylish junior headwear from Imperial We hope this addition brings new excitement for our youngest golfers and their families

We’re also looking forward to our next Junior Golf Camp, scheduled for July 9th–11th It’s a great way to keep juniors engaged and developing their skills in a fun, structured environment Please visit Golf Genius for all the details and to register. Sponsored guests are welcome to participate as well so feel free to invite friends!

We’ve also expanded our headwear offerings, including a new line of men’s and ladies’ hats from Ahead Additionally, ladies' AHEAD apparel has started to arrive in the shop This brand came highly recommended and received excellent feedback following the Ladies Night event held in the spring A full collection is on its way, along with exciting new arrivals from IBKUL, Adidas, and Belyn Key

For the gentlemen, be sure to check out the new featherweight polos from Peter Millar, featured on the main nesting table as you enter the Golf Shop These lightweight, performance-driven shirts are perfect for staying cool on the course during the summer heat

Looking ahead, please note our upcoming course closure scheduled for July 14th through July 22nd These scheduled maintenance periods are essential to the long-term health of the golf course and allow us to continue providing the exceptional playing conditions you expect year-round We appreciate your understanding and support as we remain committed to continual improvement

We’re also thrilled to be hosting the Florida State Four-Ball Championship on July 11th, 12th, and 13th This event is one of the premier amateur tournaments in the state, and we are honored to once again be selected as a host venue joining the ranks of TPC Sawgrass, Interlachen, and PGA National Hosting events of this caliber reflects the quality of our facility and community

Congratulations to AJ Skinner for earning the host exemption through our Interclub Qualifier. Be sure to wish him luck as they represent BCC in one of the FSGA’s most prestigious events!

We also want to recognize Sean Jacklin for his recent victory at the North Florida PGA Chapter Pro-Pro, held at Heathrow Country Club on June 9th. Sean and local professional Mike Visacki made a great team and brought home the win with outstanding play

And an honorable mention goes to our Assistant Golf Professional Thomas McClellan, whose team also turned in an underpar performance at the same event Well done, gentlemen!

As always, thank you for your continued support of the Golf Operation We look forward to seeing you around the club

Warm regards,

Game Improvement with Sean Jacklin

Tip of the Month: “Line it Up”

Have you triedusing a line on your ball? Anytime you can reduce the chances of human error is a good thing. Most companies are offering balls with lines on them and when you see every pro using a line on their ball you should consider it too. Not only can it help ensure you’re aimed properly on the greens, but off the tee as well. Aim the line where you want the ball to go and square the face of the club to that line.

Shot Advice: “The Bunker Blast”

Struggling in the sand? Here’s a basic recipe: Use your sand wedge, open the face, and grip down slightly. Let the bounce of the club slide through the sand not dig. Key Mindset: You’re not hitting the ball you’re throwing a splash of sand onto the green, and the ball comes out with it.

Equipment Insight: “Understanding Bounce”

Bounce is the angle between theleading edge and the lowest point of the sole of your wedge and it plays a major role in how your club interacts with the turf or sand. Low Bounce (4°–8°) is great for firm conditions and tight lies. (Down grain here this is great but into the Bermuda grain it can get “stubby”). High Bounce (10°–14°) excels in soft GRAINY turf, fluffy sand, or if you tend to take deep divots. Here’s the : If you’re chunking chips or digging in bunkers, you may need more bounce. If you’re blading shots or struggling off tight lies, less bounce could help. Wedges aren’t one-size-fits-all. Bring your clubs in for a quick short game check I can help you find the bounce that fits your swing and conditions at the club.

AGRONOMY UPDATE

Dear Members,

In the Greens department, we are really looking forward to the summer and the plans we have to relieve the golf course with some much needed aerification and other cultural practices. We did see much needed and helpful rainfall in June, and we saw a nice response on our turf surfaces as a result. The amendments and programs in place finally paid some dividends and will continue to do so throughout the summer. We received 5 inches of rain this past month.

In the month of June, on the putting greens we were able to aerify with 3/8” coring tines 2 times as part of our proactive approach to organic layer displacement with fresh sand. Just as we saw on the golf course, the greens responded nicely to the natural flushes from rainfall. We did continue to verticut through June along with soil amendments to mitigate challenging weather and poor irrigation water quality. In July, week of the 14 -22 , we plan to aerify greens with 5/8” coring and solid tines. Our program goal this year is to displace 30% of the surface, which is good and above average for the industry. We did receive soil samples back and the most encouraging thing was the ph of the greens is around 7 which is neutral. Why this is good, is that our irrigation water is 7.8 (high). I feel like we are on the right track on our mitigation efforts. th nd

On the golf course, as I have mentioned in previous months, we want to continue to hit our marks on better weed control, nematode treatments, and fertility measures to encourage thick and healthy turf throughout the growing season. We plan to aerify our golf surfaces aside from the greens at least 3 times this summer and weaker areas more. In June we did aerify the tees, fairways, and roughs 1 time. We have an “in house machine” now to be able to do this more frequently. During our week closure we plan to verticut and topdress all fairways to help with smoothness, thatch control, and firmness.

Our new course Superintendent, Chuck Cakmakci, is settling in and learning each day the details and nuances of our golf course. We will continue to work together to continually help his transition as well as make the necessary positive steps forward on the golf course.

Yours truly,

JAMIE MCCROSKY

RACQUET SPORTS UPDATE

Dear Members,

Summer is in full swing here at Bradenton Country Club, and there’s been no shortage of activity on the courts It’s been great to see so many new faces at our Summer Camp, where young players are learning the game and having a great time. Our Elite group Juniors are showing incredible dedication, grinding through the hottest parts of the day to sharpen their skills before the afternoon storms roll in

Our new "Pickle Kids" program has also gotten off to a strong start. It’s been a fun and encouraging way to introduce pickleball to younger players, and we’re glad to see their enthusiasm grow each week

Of course, it’s not just the kids who’ve been active. Despite the summer heat, Cardio Triples continues to draw a solid group, and our women’s programming is busier than ever We currently have two USTA travel teams in action, plus two well-attended ladies' doubles mornings, and we’ve recently added a ladies’ singles round robin for even more opportunities to play.

With the Grand Slam season underway, there’s plenty of inspiration on screen And if any of our golfers or nonracquet members have been thinking about giving tennis or pickleball a try, consider this your invitation to the courts Finally, be on the lookout for more information about our end-of-summer "Double Double" event We'll be serving up burgers and cocktails courtside during a fun member-member doubles event It should be a great way to wrap up the season. Thanks as always for your support and participation.

See you on the courts,
