ANNUAL CLUB CLOSURE DETAILS

Dear Members,

Bradenton Country Club will undergo a scheduled maintenance period beginning Monday, July 27 through Monday, August 17, with normal operations resuming on Tuesday, August 18. During this time, several areas of the Club will operate on modified schedules while important improvements and course maintenance are completed

Administration Office:

The Administration Office will be available Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM should you need assistance or have any questions.

Golf Operations:

The golf course, driving range, and all practice facilities will be closed for the full three-week period.

The Golf Shop will remain open Tuesday through Sunday until 12:00 PM. Members are encouraged to take advantage of our Reciprocal Club Program during this time.

Dining:

The Club restaurant will be closed for the duration of the maintenance period, including both dine-in and takeout service

Racquet Center:

The Racquet Center will remain open and continue normal operations, along with its regular daily maintenance schedule.

Pool & Fitness Center:

The pool will remain open; however, it will operate as swim-at-your-own-risk with no lifeguard on duty.

The Palm Café will be closed during this time.

The Fitness Center will remain open for member use

LETTER FROM THE CLUB MANAGER

Dear Members,

As we begin the transition into our slower summer season, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been another truly wonderful golf season here at the Club. It has been a pleasure seeing so many of you enjoying the course, clubhouse, and all of the amenities we have to offer. Your continued support and enthusiasm are what make this community so special.

To our seasonal members who will be heading out of town in the coming weeks, we wish you safe travels and a happy, healthy summer. You will be greatly missed, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the fall.

While the pace may shift during the summer months, we are excited about what lies ahead. Our team has been hard at work putting together an engaging and enjoyable summer events schedule, and we hope to see many of you continuing to spend time with us at the Club throughout the off-season.

We are also pleased to introduce a new poolside menu at the Palm Café, designed with the summer heat in mind. Whether you're looking to relax by the pool or enjoy a refreshing bite to eat, we hope this will enhance your experience and encourage even more use of our pool facilities during the warmer months.

Additionally, we look forward to implementing our summer hours of operation, which will help us better serve you while maintaining a comfortable and enjoyable environment across the Club

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving our facilities, we will be conducting some seasonal updates and enhancements. You may notice new gates being installed around the course to provide added security, as well as upcoming construction projects, including roof work for the cart barn and golf shop, which is scheduled to begin in May We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these improvements.

Thank you once again for being a part of such a fantastic season. We look forward to a fun and relaxing summer ahead and hope to see you around the Club.

Members,

As we move into the summer season, we’re excited to remind all members about one of the great benefits of belonging to Bradenton Country Club our Reciprocal Golf Program. This program provides you with the opportunity to enjoy a variety of outstanding courses while traveling. To make the experience as seamless as possible, we encourage members to utilize Golf Genius for tee time access and program details. If you need any assistance navigating the platform or getting started, please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of our golf professionals they’re always happy to help.

With temperatures on the rise, we also want to emphasize the importance of staying properly hydrated while on the golf course. Summer conditions can be challenging, so be sure to bring water, take advantage of hydration stations, and listen to your body during your round.

For those members heading out of town for the summer months, we wish you safe travels and look forward to welcoming you back in the fall

We’d also like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone for their cooperation with the new range signage. Your support has been instrumental as we continue to provide practice facilities until the upcoming range project. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work toward enhancing this important club amenity.

AGRONOMY UPDATE

Dear Members,

We can put another season in the books, as we get into May and the approaching summer Speaking of that, as I always start with the weather state of the union, it seems we jumped right into the summer pattern with the recent heat wave Let’s hope the rain comes along very soon Unfortunately, we received only 1 rain event in early April at 1.5 inches and our drought index in the region continues to increase.

The putting greens are certainly ready for the summer cultivation programs. We are maintaining good density and playability; however, compaction is settling in, surface tension is high, and the staff is doing all they can to keep them hydrated with daily spot watering along with overhead irrigation at night. We were able to get them vented recently with needle tines and plan to continue in May before we get to our first big aerification punch in June. Although we are experiencing this droughty weather, I am pleased to report that our salt index on the greens is not excessive. Our acid injection system along with a good soil spray program has enabled us to maintain good levels during this adverse time.

On the golf course this month we have a full plate on schedule to prepare ourselves for the summer season We plan to fertilize the entire golf course with granular fertilizer as well as our bi monthly fairway/tee liquid spray program We took nematode assays last month and as expected counts were high in the areas where we tested We started to identify our problem areas on the course and did our first fairway and tee spot treatment program in April When experiencing high heats and lack of rain, nematode activity can elevate and show more stress in areas than normal Along with fertility and spraying, we plan to spot cultivate these areas with our tow behind spiker This should allow for better root development and density once nematode populations are suppressed We continued to chase the spotted spurge and other weeds We also plan to spray the course this month with pre-emergent herbicide to help prevent further summer weeds. We have begun our bunker depth maintenance program and will continue to do so this summer by assessing liner problems and topdressing sand to achieve proper depths. For our clubhouse grounds and exteriors, we plan to fertilize palms, shrubs, and lawns. We will begin our summer trimming of trees and hedges on our roadsides.

The staff in the greens department really enjoyed and was very prideful preparing the course for the tournaments and events this season ending. We have begun designing and working with the club on the maintenance facility renovation. As we embark, we will continue to report each month. We hope everyone has a great summer and safe travels to all.

AGRONOMY UPDATE CONT.

On the golf course, we plan to take advantage of the warmer weather and continue enhanced fertility practices and fertigation/acid injection through the irrigation system As mentioned above with greens, the golf course shows a good amount of compaction due to time of year, drought conditions, and increased golf play This month we will be utilizing our tow behind aerifier with solid spikes to relieve compaction throughout our fairways and rough areas. This practice will not take a core and should not have any effect on playability. Soils temperatures are approaching a level for us to be able to start spraying for nematodes The areas on the golf course that are most affected are tee slopes, green roughs, and bunker surrounds. We will map out fairway areas and tees as well to selectively treat. Increased temperatures will also help us get better efficacy on our herbicide sprays, as we will get more aggressive on spotted spurge and other weeds on the golf course

In the greens department this past month, there was a big focus placed on attention to details for our March events. We received great reviews for both the ladies and men’s Invitationals. We still have our remaining April events ahead of us to continue to provide good playing conditions

RACQUET SPORTS UPDATE

Dear Members,

Thank you all for an incredible season of racquet sports! It has been a pleasure seeing the courts full and the energy high over the past few months

As we transition into the summer season, we have a few updates regarding our team and our upcoming programming:

Staffing Updates

We want to send a huge thank you to Jeff and Jack, who have headed back north to take the helm at their seasonal director positions. We wish them a fantastic summer and look forward to their return

Summer Tennis & Pickleball Programming:

We are excited to introduce several new offerings to keep the momentum going all summer long:

Mixed Mondays:Join us every Monday evening for some competitive and social mixed doubles tennis action

USTA Ladies 3.5 league:

Our 3.5 ladies will be battling it out every Thursday morning in the sectional USTA league. We wish them the best of luck!

Pickleball "Up the River, Down the River":

Join our open play pickleball format every Wednesday morning A fun, fast-paced way to compete and rotate through the courts.

Sunday Tennis Clinics:

I am personally taking over the Sunday clinics this summer. I’m looking forward to getting on the court and training with all of you!

For the first time ever, we are thrilled to offer continued pickleball programming throughout the summer!

Jay’s Tuesday Clinics:We are keeping the momentum alive with Jay on Tuesday afternoons.

Interclub Match Play: Keep an eye on the summer schedule for several interclub pickleball match play days.

The Sunshine Social League (Pickleball Edition):

We are officially launching a pickleball version of our beloved Sunshine Social League! This format has been a staple on the tennis side for years, and we can’t wait to bring that same energy to the pickleball courts.

Summer Camp Registration:

Summer camp registration is open! Some weeks are filling up fast, so please be sure to register soon to secure a spot for your junior players.
