LETTER FROM THE CLUB MANAGER As we transition into fall, I’m proud to share a few updates and improvements happening around the Club. We continue to move in a positive direction, supported by new hires and fresh talent across our operations—momentum that’s helping us build a stronger team and deliver the best possible experience for our members.

At the pool, you’ll notice a few seasonal adjustments as we head into cooler months.

Beginning in October, the Palm Café will no longer be staffed, though the blow-up slide will remain available through the end of October. Members may still request the slide for private events, ensuring fun remains part of every celebration. Even though the café will not be staffed, you can still call the bar to order food or drinks, which can be delivered directly to you by the pool for your convenience.

Inside the Clubhouse, we’ve been focused on elevating the overall dining experience.

You’ll soon see enhancements like sneeze guards on our buffet to keep up with health code standards, and I’m working closely with our new chef to develop a fresh seasonal menu, set to debut in early November. More details on these new offerings will be shared soon!

Around the Club, our maintenance team has also been busy. We’ve painted the bathrooms and repaired all pillars at the Morand House—a friendly reminder to avoid driving under the roof unless it’s raining—and will be painting the interior of the Palm Café in the coming weeks.

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for the Club. It’s inspiring to see how far we’ve come together, and I look forward to an exciting season ahead filled with great food, fresh updates, and a welcoming atmosphere for all.

Seth Groseclose

Bradenton Country Club is delighted to welcome Chef Seth Groseclose as our new Executive Chef! Chef Seth joins us with an accomplished culinary career that has taken him from some of the most respected kitchens in the country to international destinations known for their cuisine.

Over the past two decades, he has honed his craft in celebrated establishments including Beach Bistro on Anna Maria Island, The Coach House in Martha’s Vineyard, and Roskoff Brasserie in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he trained under Michelin Star Chef Paul Rankin. He has also had the distinct honor of cooking at the James Beard House in New York City — a milestone achievement in any chef’s career.

Executive Chef

Most recently, Chef Seth served as Executive Chef at Beach Bistro, where he was recognized for his commitment to exceptional quality, creativity, and consistency. His culinary style blends refined technique with coastal inspiration, resulting in dishes that are both elegant and approachable.

Beyond the kitchen, Chef Seth enjoys spending time with his wife and son and can often be found on the golf course when he’s not crafting new recipes. He is excited to bring his experience, passion, and creative vision to Bradenton Country Club and looks forward to enhancing the dining experience for all our members.

Heather Mohan

Bradenton Country Club is pleased to welcome Heather Mohan as our new Food & Beverage Manager. In her role, Heather oversees the daily operations of the clubhouse restaurant and bar, leads the clubhouse service team, and coordinates club and member events to ensure an exceptional dining experience for all.

Heather brings over a decade of restaurant and catering management experience, including six years with Mike O’Shays in Longmont, Colorado. Her background reflects a deep understanding of hospitality operations and a commitment to creating memorable experiences for members and guests alike.

Originally from Colorado, Heather relocated to Bradenton in April 2025 to be closer to her parents. She’s excited to continue building on the Club’s current momentum—enhancing what’s already working well while identifying opportunities for continued improvement.

Food & Beverage Manager

Outside of the clubhouse, Heather’s passion for hospitality is matched by her love of dogs. A certified dog trainer, she enjoys helping dogs become the best companions they can be for their families.

We are excited to officially welcome Titus Strom as Bradenton Country Club’s Tennis Administrator! Titus first joined the team in March as an Assistant Tennis Professional, coaching players of all ages and helping maintain our courts. In September, he stepped into his new role, where he’s eager to connect with members, share his passion for the game, and continue growing BCC’s tennis program.

Titus Strom

Titus brings both professional and playing experience to the courts.

A USF graduate with a PTR Certification, he previously worked at The Tennis Club at Newport Beach and spent four years as an ESE Paraprofessional supporting students with autism. As a junior player, Titus was ranked #1 in Texas and #3 in the U.S., with one of his proudest moments being a win over current world #5 Taylor Fritz.

Originally from Westminster, California, Titus came to Florida as a teenager to pursue his professional tennis career. When he’s not on the courts, you can find him at the beach, spending time with friends, or cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Orlando Magic.

LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR OF GOLF Dear BCC Members, As October begins, we want to extend a warm welcome back to our seasonal members returning for the fall and winter. We’re equally excited to see the rest of you coming back in the weeks ahead. The golf course came through the summer in tremendous condition, and we look forward to showcasing it during the upcoming season.

We are thrilled to announce that Joe Burbee will be joining Bradenton Country Club as our new Head Golf Professional, starting October 15th. Joe brings a high level of professionalism and experience that aligns perfectly with the club’s needs and will elevate our level of engagement moving forward. In addition, Joe will play a key role in the interview process for a new Assistant Golf Professional position, ensuring continuity and the development of a staff that fully supports our membership.

Golf Shop Updates: Fall pre-books have started to arrive!

We are excited to introduce Turtleson, a well-renowned men’s line, to our apparel offerings this season.

Upcoming Events & Clinics: Callaway Fitting Day – October 29th. Be sure to reserve your spot early.

Our first Sips & Tips clinic with Sean and me was a great success, with excellent feedback from participants. Members have asked for more of these, so we are working with the F&B team to schedule them monthly. Stay tuned for dates!

On the Course: The new scorecard is now in play, sparking great conversation in the Golf Shop. We appreciate your support of these updates, which were made based on real data to enhance fairness and playability across the membership.

Tip of the Month by Sean Jacklin: Mastering Speed to Predict Break The secret to sinking more putts is to choose your speed first, as it dictates how much break you need to play.

The 12-18 Inch Rule Your goal on every putt (especially those requiring significant break) should be to hit the ball with the speed required to stop 12 - 18 inches past the hole if you miss.

Why 12-18 Inches? This speed ensures the ball is rolling slow enough near the hole to accept the full gravity and break of the green. It maximizes the target area—the high side of the cup— while still giving you an easy, confident tap-in if you miss.

The Relationship Between Speed and Break On our fast, sloping greens, a slower, controlled speed requires you to play more break than you might initially think.

1. (> 3 feet past the hole): The ball carries its speed and "cuts" the break, forcing you to aim closer to the hole. This reduces the effective target size and often leads to the ball blowing past the low side.

2. Ideal Putt (12-18 inches past the hole): The ball slows down and is fully influenced by gravity.

This is when you must aim higher (more break) to let the ball gently feed down into the cup.

Drill: Speed & Target Visualization Use this simple visualization technique during your practice or pre-round routine: 1. Find a Breaking Putt: Find a putt (about 10–20 feet) that has a clear left-to-right or right-to-left break.

2. Pick Your Apex: Instead of looking at the hole, visualize an Apex Target—the highest point your putt needs to reach before gravity pulls it back toward the cup. This target is often outside the hole.

3. Use Only Your Speed: Focus 100% on hitting the ball with the perfect speed. Let your chosen speed be the variable that executes the break. If your speed is perfect, the ball will slow down at the Apex Target and roll right into the cup.

The Takeaway Trust the green's slope! Commit to the slow speed required for the ball to die in the hole, and then have the courage to play the massive break that speed demands.

AGRONOMY UPDATE Dear Members, During the month of September, the Green’s team mainly concentrated on getting the golf course back to refinement mode along with a few renovation repairs. There was a big focus on attention to details that set it apart for the winter season. The weather last month told two tales. It was an extremely dry month with only around 2 inches of rain, which posed challenges keeping turf conditions lively with the hot conditions. On the other side it did allow the crews to push hard through completing those attention to details. The team did a nice job managing the irrigation in these conditions as well as the push on getting the golf course put back together after the summer grind. In the month of October, there will be a continuing effort to finish off our repair and grow in objectives.

As we get into October, the putting greens have healed completely from summer aerifications and are moving in a positive direction. As a sneak peak, we hosted a Sara Bay challenge event, and we were able to push greens to 12+ on the stimp meter and they looked healthy while doing so. This is encouraging, because we still have several weeks of warmer weather ahead of us to continue to focus on growth and further health before it gets cool where growth decreases. The aerification program this past summer was frequent and aggressive. I am pleased to report after receiving our recent soil samples, our organic build up amounts decreased, and our infiltration rates increased. As organics increase in the upper layers of greens and infiltration rates decrease, putting greens lose their firmness, smoothness, and trueness. As weather allows we will continue to lightly groom, needle tine, and topdress through season.

On the golf course, we have been making a big effort on weed control and growing in weaker turf areas. Moving forward we plan to increase liquid fertility applications on tees and fairways in conjunction with balanced granular applications. Finishing up last month we did a wall to wall application of liquid pre-emergent herbicide, and we plan to follow up tees and fairways in October with a fertilizer/herbicide combo product. There was a delay last month, but we should have our new acid/fertilizer injection system in operation this month. This will be a huge tool for us to meter our pH to our liking as we irrigate as well to meter out desirable fertilizer to the course with this modern system. We have and will continue to work on bunker sand consistency and playability, as we know this has been a challenge and issue.

Our new cart path grader and finisher is paying dividends, and this part of the course will continue to be a main daily focus. As far as other items, we do need to look at sod in a few drain areas like number 4 and a few other small areas.

Even though it was drier this summer, Bermudagrass never likes to be overly wet, and these lower areas will always struggle when sitting in excess moisture. August was the kicker month with over 10 inches of rain. We will have a contractor onsite through a lot of October installing new bridges on the golf course. This will be a great new addition to the course, as our current bridges are certainly beyond their useful life.

The team is in a good state and excited with current conditions and what we can still accomplish this fall to provide another great season at Bradenton Country Club.

RACQUET SPORTS UPDATE Dear Members, I hope this message finds you well and as excited for the upcoming season as I am. It’s been fantastic to see so many of you already back on the courts, and I’d like to extend a warm welcome to all our returning “snowbirds” and seasonal friends. I'm also thrilled to welcome back the cooler weather we’ve had a few beautiful days recently, and I’m sure there are plenty more to come.

As we gear up for a busy fall season, I ask for your patience and support as we roll out several exciting changes at the racquet center. These updates are all designed to enhance your experience and help our operations run more smoothly.

First, please join me in welcoming a new face at the front desk: Titus. While many of you have seen him on court since April, he’ll now also be taking on some front office and programming responsibilities. Be sure to say hello and give him a warm welcome!

We’re also making a significant upgrade to our booking system. Soon, court and lesson reservations will move to a fully automated process, making it quicker and easier for you to secure your spot.

In addition, you’ll notice changes to our food and beverage service. Our beloved kegerator is officially retiring, but in its place, we’re introducing a convenient food and beverage delivery service—so you can continue enjoying your favorite refreshments without ever leaving the courts.

On a fun note, our new ping-pong table has already become a hit, quickly turning into a popular afternoon activity. We also have some fresh new décor on the way to make the space even more welcoming.

I’m truly grateful for your continued support as we implement these positive changes. We can’t wait to see you all back out on the courts!
