rh + DNA is based on the continuous technological research and development born in our Powerlogic Lab and continues on the roads around the Headquarters, on the climbs that have made the history of cycling, to athletes who test our products where it’s demanded the most in terms of performance. Being part of this process means having innovation as an integral part of your DNA. SUPREMUS by L’evoluzione non si ferma mai, e così la ricerca e sviluppo di rh+: la nuova linea di fondelli è un ulteriore progresso verso il comfort e la prestazione in bici, indipendentemente dalla disciplina praticata e dal tempo trascorso in sella.

Tutti sapientemente sviluppati e prodotti dal SUMMUS by gruppo di Elastic Interface, partner dedicato e specializzato da anni unicamente alla produzione e sviluppo dei migliori fondelli al mondo, la nuova collezione vede nuove schiume, nuove anatomie e nuovi inserti ad alta portanza e un livello di traspirazione e risposta elastica che fissano un nuovo benchmark per tutti.

Evolution never stops, and so rh+ research and development: the new range of rh+ pads are significantly enhanced towards comfort and performance, regardless of the cycling discipline they are used for and time spent on the saddle. All developed and produced by Elastic Interface group, our dedicated technical partner and world leader in producing and developing cycling pads since years, rh+ new pad lineup features new high-tech foams, new anatomical shapes and high lift inserts, all at a whole new level of breathability and elasticity that mark all together a new benchmark in pad comfort.

Our close relationship with Elastic Interface R&D blend with our famous attention to details and style do not stop to the outside of the garment, while instead metodiically applied and carried over the whole piece, such as the inner pad of any of our cycling bibshorts, a hidden while so important components for the rider’s comfort over time.

La termoregolazione è una funzione naturale del corpo umano che attiva, tramite la sudorazione, uno scambio termico tra l'interno del corpo e l'esterno. È proprio questo lo scopo: mantenere a 37° la temperatura interna degli organi vitali, così che tutta la macchina del corpo umano possa continuare a funzionare alla sua massima efficienza e quindi erogare la prestazione fisica richiesta da voi quando spingete sui pedali o quando recuperate dopo uno sforzo intenso.

Heat regulation is a natural bodily function that uses perspiration to activate a thermal exchange, moving heat from inside the body to outside. The goal is to maintain body temperature at 37 °C (the temperature of vital internal organs) so that the body can function at maximum capacity and maximum efficiency, therefore supplying the level of performance that you require when you’re pedalling hard or recovering from an intense burst of physical activity.

Il progetto AirX è basato sul principio dello scambio d’aria come vettore termico e punta sulla traspirazione per migliorare il comfort muscolare e la prestazione: il surriscaldamento e la sudorazione eccessiva sono alla base del decadimento della performance sportiva.

Per minimizzare questo inutile dispendio energetico e lasciare nei muscoli quanta più energia possibile da impiegare nell'attività sportiva, rh+ utilizza nei suoi capi più evoluti una combinazione di tessuti di nuova generazione dalle caratteristiche speciali: dal trattamento FIR che lega al tessuto materiale bio-ceramico, in grado di riflettere i raggi di natura calorica e svolgere un'azione benefica per il corpo umano, alle più evolute fibre sia sintetiche sia naturali. L'analisi delle zone del corpo umano dove l'irrorazione sanguinia è maggiore e dove invece è maggiore la sudorazione ha delineato poi il posizionamento dei vari tessuti: è da questi studi che nascono le costruzioni complesse della linea DrySkin AirX, apice e sintesi massima dei princìpi di termoregolazione applicati ad un capo tecnico.

La tecnologia AirX affonda le sue basi nel principio dello scambio d'aria come veicolo per termoregolare il corpo in modo ottimale e quanto più possibile vicino al suo andamento fisiologico. The AirX project uses air flow to regulate body temperature and targets perspiration to improve muscle comfort and performance. Overheating is underperforming.

In order to minimise this decline in performance and to allow the muscles to hold onto as much energy as possible, rh+ uses a combination of innovative fabrics with some highly specialised features in its most advanced garments. For example, we use FIR treatment, which attaches a bio-ceramic layer to garments that reflects heat rays, giving you a real edge, as well as the most innovative synthetic and natural fibres.

Our choice and positioning of specific fabrics is based on an analysis of the areas with increased circulation and which are most prone to perspiration during physical activity. These studies led to the design of our DrySkin AirX range, which includes our highest quality and most technically advanced heat regulating garments.

AirX technology is based on the principle of optimising the use of air flow as a vehicle of heat exchange, in the most natural way possible.

Abbiamo così analizzato a fondo le linee di flusso che l'aria genera attorno al corpo del ciclista per trovare le differenti zone dove l'aria genera maggiore o minore pressione, e dove/come questi cambi di pressione avvengono: ogni cm2 di tessuto, finitura superficiale, cucitura e accessorio che compongono qualsiasi maglia della linea SPEED di rh+ è figlia di questa analisi. Il tessuto Dual Cell trova così una collocazione ideale nelle zone di passaggio da moti laminari a turbolenti, tra alta e bassa pressione, dove l'aria tende a staccarsi dal corpo e genera quelle turbolenze che sono la prima fonde di una bassa resa aerodinamica. L'utilizzo della rete 3D nelle zone dove i vortici sono già maggiori, le cuciture piatte, la zip invisibile a 3/4 sono anche loro tutte scelte figlie di questa logica. La validazione in Galleria del Vento di quanto progettato è stato il momento di consolidamento e affinamento di questo lavoro, ma non ci bastava. Calare questi capi nella realtà del ciclismo quotidiano, non necessariamente dei Pro che hanno le ammiraglie al seguito, è stata la sfida ulteriore che ci siamo posti: lunghezza della maglia e della salopette, colletto e tessuti dalla veloce asciugatura, ma soprattutto le tasche...

Therefore, we began by studying the way in which air typically flows around cyclists, as well as identifying which specific areas of the body cause the most and least wind resistance.

The next step was obviously to position fabrics according to the findings of this study. Every centimetre of fabric, every finishing detail and every seam of our SPEED jerseys - including the position of pockets and type of zipper and elastic – has been chosen in accordance with our detailed air flow study. Dual Cell fabric is perfect between areas of high and low air pressure. It gives the best results in zones where the air tends to bounce off the body, increasing turbulence and lowering aerodynamics.

3D mesh (in areas where the air tends to swirl), flat seams and the invisible three-quarter length front zipper have all been deliberately chosen. We also tested the range in wind tunnel trials to consolidate our designs. Still not satisfied, our challenge now was to get some real cyclists – and not necessarily pros – to test features like the length of the jerseys and bibshorts, the collar, the fast-drying fabric and, of course, the pockets…

La conformazione e la disposizione delle tasche tradizionali da ciclismo non è quella ottimale ai fini dell'aerodinamica e il Powerlogic Lab non si è preoccupato di violare uno stereotipo del ciclismo - le classiche 3 tasche posteriori e ridisegnarlo da capo. Il risultato è stato dettato dall'aria: tasca centrale rialzata, là dove già ci sono le turboolenze maggiori e dove un volume aggiunto contribuisce a riempire il vuoto d'aria, e tasche laterali rastremate per permettere all'aria di fluire senza incontrare ostacoli attorno alla vita.

La simmetria è anche un aspetto importante in aerodinamica: le tasche laterali sono unite, permettendo di fatto di riempirle partendo sempre dal centro.

The classic pocket layout is not great for aerodynamics and so the Powerlogic Lab had no qualms about totally redesigning the traditional system of three rear pockets.

Our new design was dictated by air flow patterns and has one central raised pocket positioned where air turbulence is greatest, as the added volume helps fill the void. Side pockets are tapered downwards and are connected so that air can flow uninterrupted around the waist. Symmetry is crucial to maximise aerodynamics on a body moving through the air, so we designed side pockets which draw together – meaning they can be filled from the centre outwards.

APPAREL CARE is the only liquid detergent developed to wash and regenerate synthetic and technical cycling garments. All the clothing is clean even at low temperatures, thanks to its special formula it’s also effective against synthetic fibers smell. It doesn’t damage the garments’ particular structure by keeping them elastic and leaving unchanged UV filters and waterproofing films.
