History Opening in August 2013, ISV grew to over 400 students and over 60 teachers (with 18 nationalities represented on the staff and over 20 nationalities in the student body). In December of 2021, ISV joined the Reigate Grammar family and officially changed its name to Reigate Grammar School Vietnam. There are currently nearly 200 students in Years 10 - 13, with 46 students in Year 13. The Class of 2024 will be our sixth graduating class, and the fifth to graduate with the IB Diploma. International diversity is encouraged by the policy of not allowing more than five near non-native English-speaking students with the same passport in any one non-scholarship class, below Year 10. Vision Reigate Grammar School Vietnam aspires to nurture, empower and connect students with their local and global communities to become international citizens who are active, compassionate, and lifelong learners. Curriculum RGSV is a Nursery (pre-K) to Year 13 (Grade 12) not-for-profit school that is proud to offer a unique learning environment. Our numbers may be increasing, but we are happy to claim that our students benefit from smaller class sizes, allowing more individual attention and support from our teachers: an invaluable factor in the learning process. In Upper Secondary (Years 10-13/Grades 9-12), RGSV offers International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in the Sixth Form and Cambridge IGCSEs in Years 10 & 11. In Lower Secondary (Years 7-9/Grades 6-8), we have developed a bespoke enquiry-based learning programme. The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme is delivered in Nursery to Year 6 (Pre-K to Grade 5). In our Secondary School, we also have one-year pedagogical programmes in Year 11 to upskill and support students in the methodology and skills developed in our programmes. There are minimum academic requirements to enter our externally-assessed IGCSE and IB Diploma programmes. At IGCSE and DP Standard Level this normally would be a C grade; for our DP Higher Level, this would be a B grade. The school reserves the right to default to faculty recommendations on students’ chosen subjects. The community language in RGSV is English, with Vietnamese and Korean being taught as a first language and French, Spanish, and Vietnamese being taught as foreign languages.
Academic Calendar & Class Schedule The 184 days in the school year are divided into two semesters, from August to February and February to June. Each day has seven instruction periods, each of 50-minutes. RGSV runs a 5-day cycle and has a minimum of 181 days of instruction per academic year. The main vacation periods are mid-June to Early-August (six weeks) and mid-December to early January (three weeks). The teaching day starts at 8:20 and ends at 3:15. Extracurricular activities are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Scholarships at RGSV are awarded for academic excellence and for outstanding ability and potential in music, sport, and art.
2023-2024: This academic year has started in person, with plans to remain in person until further notice.
All RGS Vietnam students flourish, developing their talents and skills, and demonstrating high levels of performance both academically and in the wider curriculum. Scholarships recognise those students with exceptional ability or potential in a specific area and seek to nurture this throughout their time at the school by delivering a programme of enrichment and mentoring. Some scholarship awards include fee remission where values may be a percentage or a fixed amount per annum. Scholarships can be held alongside Assisted Places where candidates qualify for additional fee support.

RGSV A Level Scholarship Programme Cambridge Advanced Level (A Level) is an international qualification for 16 to 18-year-olds who need advanced study to prepare for university and graduate life. The A Level system offers flexible curricula that allow learners the freedom to choose subjects that are suitable for them. RGSV A Level Scholarship Programme was officially launched by MP Graham Stuart, UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos during his visit to Reigate Grammar School Vietnam on 4/4/2022. RGSV Founding Student Scholarship Programme In celebration of the huge achievements of the school over the last 10 years and to recognise the success of our collaboration with Reigate Grammar School United Kingdom, all students who are part of Reigate Grammar School Vietnam in the Academic Year of 2023-2024 will be awarded the Founding Student Scholarship. Students with the Founding Student Scholarship will enjoy a 50 % fee waiver from 2024-2025 onward that will last until the student graduates or withdraws from the school. Students who are not part of our school in 2023 - 2024 but begin their academic journey with us in 2024-2025 may also apply for consideration to be awarded the Founding Students Scholarship subject to availability of school places, successful application for the scholarship and terms and conditions. Assisted Places Assisted Places are intended to enable gifted children to attend the school irrespective of family income. Assisted Places are only available to those who are successful in our entrance examination and interview, assistance is not guaranteed if a place is offered. We attempt to help as many families as possible, but funds are limited: awards will therefore be based on the child’s performance in the entrance examination and assessment of need required. The level of fee remission will be determined on a sliding scale which may offer up to 100 per cent reduction in fees. Assistance towards the cost of school uniform, school meals and travel may also be available in cases of particular need. Parents’ income and assets will be assessed annually and all information will be treated in the strictest confidence. The exact amount of fee reduction will depend upon family circumstances. Parents are encouraged to contact the admissions team to discuss their individual circumstances, in complete confidence. For the higher levels of fee remission, the school reserves the right to visit parents at home or make other relevant enquiries to establish genuine levels of income.
2021-2022: The 2021-2022 academic year began with remote, online learning and included synchronous and asynchronous instruction. In-person instruction ran for two weeks in early February. Then RGSV was back online for several weeks. We finished out the final four months of the 2021-2022 academic year in person. 2020-2021: During the 2020-2021 academic year, the Vietnamese government closed all Secondary Schools from 18th February until 1st March and from 4th May until 11th June. On both occasions, ISV moved to a synchronous, distance learning model respecting the established school timetable and calendar. Students continued with the school’s proposed curriculum and were assessed and graded for Semester 2. The International Baccalaureate May 2021 Diploma Programme and Cambridge Assessment IGCSE written examinations were awarded traditionally.

Graduation Requirements for the externally-assessed IB Diploma: A student must achieve a minimum of 24 points from the 6 subjects studied. This is made up of a maximum of three Higher Level subjects and a three Standard Level subjects. Students must also be awarded a mark of A-D in the DP Core of Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and a pass in Creativity Activity Service (CAS). The DP Core can carry an additional 1-3 points to take a student’s maximum score up to 45 if all are awarded. Graduation Requirements for externally-assessed IB Diploma courses: A student must achieve 3 points or more per Diploma course subject. They cannot take more than six subjects in total. These can be at either Standard or Higher Level.
