Reigate Grammar School was founded on Henry Smith’s philanthropy, a legacy that continues today at school and across the global Reigatian community
During our Decade of Difference, we remain united by a shared commitment to opening doors of opportunity, widening access to education and broadening our impact in our local community.
At the heart of this is a simple belief: philanthropy changes lives.

“I feel accepted just as I am.”
Nella* is currently in Upper School.
“Being in the junior girls' choir is one of the best parts of my life! I get to sing at so many amazing places - informal concerts, unplugged sessions, and even shows at Leatherhead Theatre and Queen Elizabeth Hall!
Whenever Mr Fenton’s letters arrive, I feel so proud, like I’m making my sponsor proud too. These experiences mean everything to me because they let me do more of what I love. I’m so happy to be part of the RGS family, where I feel accepted just as I am.”

“It seemed only natural to fund a second bursary”

“I received an assisted place at RGS thanks to the generosity of a former pupil - the only one available at that time - providing an opportunity my family could not otherwise have afforded.
My time at the Grammar was transformative and completely changed the trajectory of my life, shaping my future through lasting friendships and opportunities. Knowing the impact of the RGS experience, it was important to me to share it with others in a similar situation and it seemed only natural to fund a second bursary.
It has been thrilling and gratifying to watch the recipients make the most of it. More than that though, it has been inspiring to see so many of my fellow former pupils come together in collective philanthropy to take the bursaries awarded from only one during my time to 155 at school today.”

Andy Paul (RGS 1968-1975) at the launch of the Corsair E-Sports Hub in 2025

Karen Davis (current parent) and Guy Ellis (RGS 1997-2005) were incredibly generous with their time, advice and industry insights. Their support, contacts and professional introductions helped me explore opportunities in finance, build my confidence and gain a real head start in my career.
Morgan Stannard (RGS 2020-2022)

Since leaving RGS, the Reigatian network helped connect me to an industry placement at PLP Architecture in London, where I secured a Part 1 role after interview. It’s a reminder that the support of the RGS community continues well beyond school
Charlotte Chinery (RGS 2015-2022 )

Through the Reigatian community, I was connected with a recently retired former pupil, whose advice and guidance ahead of interviews helped me secure a role at his former firm. It reinforced the strength of the network, not only in opening doors, but in forging genuine support and connection - and I hope to one day do the same for another Reigatian
Jack Grant (RGS 2014-2021)

The Reigatian Hub brings the wider community and the school closer together, with former pupils sharing their experiences, advice and career insights in ways that genuinely enrich students’ learning Just as importantly, it helps people stay connected to each other and to RGS long after they leave RGS

The RGS Foundation brings the Reigatian community together through the Reigatian Hub and I’ve seen first-hand the value this creates. It feels like an extended family, united by shared values and purpose, and I’m proud that my family is part of it.

Construction of the Andy Paul Sport and Activity Centre begins in summer 2026. Supported by significant School investment and a transformational gift from Andy Paul and his family, the centre will create new opportunities for sport, wellbeing and community engagement.
Together with the Careers Department, we are building stronger connections with employers to expand opportunities for work experience, internships and degree apprenticeships, helping students explore future pathways and broaden their networks.

Every gift, conversation and introduction helps build momentum behind Changing Lives, Building Futures, enabling more talented young people to access an RGS education and benefit from its transformative opportunities.
As part of our Decade of Difference, we are strengthening connections with charities and community organisations through networking events and collaboration, amplifying their work and broadening the social impact of the Reigatian community.
We are truly grateful for all support and donations to our Changing Lives, Building Futures campaign.
