PLANT HIRE EQUIPMENT Customer Awareness & TIP (Thorough Inspection Procedure) This quick inspection guide to be be completed when plant hire equipment is delivered to site and before it is operated. The purpose is to ensure the machine is safe to use, free from damage, and suitable for the working environment.
1. DELIVERY CHECK (BEFORE USE) Machine ordered / delivered is correct Check for visible damage, missing guards, leaks, loose hoses, damaged cables, tyre/track condition, attachments supplied and general machine condition.
4. TIP – PRESTART INSPECTION Check for oil or fuel leaks, inspect hydraulic hoses, confirm guards and safety devices are secure, check tyres/tracks, ensure attachments and pins are secured, test brakes, steering, alarms and warning lights.

Operate the machine within its limits. Do not overload equipment. Keep pedestrians clear of the working area and never bypass or tamper with safety devices. If faults, unusual noises, vibrations or leaks are found – stop using the machine immediately and contact your Hire Branch.

3. OPERATOR REQUIREMENTS Only trained and authorised operators should use the equipment. Operators must wear appropriate PPE such as safety boots, high visibility clothing, hard hat, gloves and hearing/eye protection where required.
7. END OF SHIFT SECURITY Park on level ground, lower attachments to the ground, remove keys and secure the machine to prevent unauthorised use.
IMPORTANT: Do not operate the equipment if any defects are identified. Report issues immediately to our Hire Branch. Safe operation protects the operator, site personnel and the hired equipment.
