Please be sure to join us at the 18th Annual Maine Antiques Dealers Association Coastal Antiques Show! Eighteen years ago, a meeting took place in Damariscotta to consider a fundraising effort to benefit two Maine non-profit arts organizations, Round Top Center for the Arts and The Maine Antiques Dealers Association. Round Top had the buildings and grounds plus a goodly number of volunteers, and The Maine Antiques Dealers Association represented reputable vendors offering authentic merchandise and willing volunteers. Kicking off the Coastal Maine Antiques Show with tents spread around the old farmhouse and barns were over 100 dealers selling the best antiques to be found in Maine. Historic Round Top Farm dates to the mid 1700s and was a very well known dairy farm until 1968. In 1977, The Round Top Center for the Arts was formed and included a conservation easement to The Damariscotta River Association to whom ownership of the land and buildings would transfer if Round Top Center for the Arts ceased to exist. After the arts program left Round Top Farm, The Damariscotta River Association took over the land and buildings and in a seamless transition continued the partnership with The Maine Antiques Dealers Association. This was great news for the many Coastal Show enthusiasts for whom the show is a must visit. They know that the participating exhibitors set aside special items all year long just for this show and both the show attendees and exhibitors look forward to seeing each other and getting caught up in what has transpired over the past twelve months. This ongoing event has become a yearly celebration for many residents and summer people, and we plan to continue for years to come at this picturesque location. 2
