Words by Alejandro taken from the book "Vive" by Óscar García Blesa.

My name is Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro, I was born in Madrid and Cádiz, and grew up halfway around the world. I can't think of a better plan for the next twenty years than to keep singing to you. I didn't start making music to sell records. When I am asked what you have to do to be an artist, I answer that the first thing is to know if you have the hunger and the capacity for sacrifice. This demands a lot both physically and emotionally. You have to open yourself up, show what's inside you, and that makes you vulnerable, because everyone has an opinion about you. So at the same time that you open yourself up, you have to put on a shield. It's very difficult. You have to be permeable and impermeable at the same time, trying to find the balance without leaving corpses along the way, because in that search sometimes you make mistakes and you take it out on the wrong people. On the other hand, you have to move with the world and show yourself while protecting yourself. It's like a triple somersault. My inner world is my refuge and my hell. That's where I fight my battles and win and lose. Like everyone else, I try to find balance without making too many fusses and without getting swept up in emotional peaks. I have my home, my friends and my family, but my inner world is a landscape that only I know. It has deserts, but also shores. It does not resemble what we live outside. I believe in what I live, I believe that everything accumulates and that the only certainty we have is the decision we make every second. I know that I am condemned to music and, likewise, music is condemned to me: we are condemned to understand each other forever and that will be our home. Whenever I compose, I always perform for only one person, which is myself, one of the most critical and voracious audiences that can exist. I am not afraid of not being applauded, I think that on stage I will always give my all. Someone told me that the greatest show in the world is to see someone playing himself..., and, giving it all, there will always be someone who will give you their applause. Music is always a search, as in life. I always go and never come. Life should not be a therapy, but an experience: it is not possible to fix everything. It seems that we have to learn to do everything better, and sometimes I like things the way they turn out. This thought helped me a lot in my singing. Now I don't hit as high notes as I used to, and yet I sing much better because I discovered that I didn't have to do everything the way it's supposed to be done. At first I was very orthodox in the way I did things, but eventually I started to be abstract. Certainty gets you nowhere, it's a bad advisor. It tends to be arrogant and takes away your reason simply because you think you are right. Doubt is a better companion, it is the only one that will always demand a little more from you and will make you improve. If you don't have doubts, you are not even like the rest of human beings. Musicians have a role in society, not only to give visibility or to be able to put the spotlight where there are injustices, but because for me the mother of all problems, the face I would put on the devil, is precisely that, the face of injustice. Hunger, war, disease, prejudice, inequality are the children of injustice. Of someone who thinks he is superior to others, or is greedy, or does not want to invest in medical research because he prefers to earn more money. I sincerely believe that there are two camps; one of people who are dedicated to doing evil. They don't think they are evil, but they only seek their own benefit and are not interested at all in what happens to the rest of the world, they don't think beyond what happens tomorrow afternoon. And there is another side that is not made up of superheroes, but of people who, with their work and their day-to-day lives, demonstrate that they are doing good. Those of us who dedicate ourselves to an artistic discipline, each one with his convictions and different ideologies, are on the side of the light. Jesús Quintero once asked me: "What do you do for others?", and I answered him: "Well, man, I don't mess around much". I think that if we bothered not to fuck with others, the world would be a much better place. I don't go looking for a ceiling or a limit, I never go after the top of anything. I walk, and if there is a peak I will get there, or not... and I will do it walking. But I'm not going to invent mountains that don't exist. I don't keep the negative in my backpack, I don't have enough memory and, besides, I have the feeling that if I complain, lightning will strike me and break me in two. I don't remember anything particularly bad on this trip; I missed things, sure, but it was worth it. And that's my treasure, not to keep bad memories of anyone. Resentment and regret don't do me any good. I'd rather forget."

Alejandro Sanz sings at the opening of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Singing at the opening of the Olympic Games is not within everyone's reach, it is only possible for a privileged few. This was another historic and memorable moment in Alejandro Sanz's musical career just in 2021, the year in which he celebrates thirty years of a brilliant and constant career. The world stopped for a moment when Alejandro Sanz sang John Lennon's "Imagine" at the opening of the Tokyo Olympic Games. A very special song for an occasion that undoubtedly deserves it. He was joined by artists John Legend, Keith Urban, and Angélique Kidjo, each representing a continent. Photos: Reproduced from the internet

The European continent could not be better represented, it was no coincidence that Alejandro was chosen to sing at one of the most important events in the history of sport. The news that he would sing at the inauguration came through Alejandro's own social networks: "You can daydream and imagine aloud. Today, honor teleports me to another world. I will be part of the opening ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. My voice will be everyone's. I tremble, with happiness and gratitude". An atypical opening ceremony: Tokyo 2020 had no audience for the first time in the history of the event, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the strict sanitary measures implemented by the host country to contain its spread. According to the organizers, around 950 people attended

FIRST NUMBER ONE IN "LOS 40 PRINCIPALES" THE GENIUS WAS BEGINNING TO SHINE, 1991

Los 40 is a Spanish music-themed radio station, owned by PRISA Radio. It is the pioneer and most listened to thematic radio station in the country, with around 2,923,000 listeners. It has versions in ten other countries, making it the leading international music radio station in Spain and Latin America. LOS40's number one is the most important song in the charts every week, this is decided by the radio station's listeners with their votes through phone calls and on the LOS40 website. Well, on November 2, 1991 Alejandro Sanz reached his first number 1 on the Los 40 Principales chart with Pisando Fuerte. Alejandro was only 22 years old when he burst onto the Spanish music market with his album Viviendo Deprisa, an album that confirmed the good health of Spanish pop at that time and changed the history of Spanish music forever. Viviendo Deprisa included the hit that was awarded with this first number 1 of Los 40 principales, Photo: Reproduced from the internet

Pisando Fuerte, a song that has become one of the biggest hits of his long and unstoppable career, and with which he became a mass idol.

Pisando fuerte became a hymn, a song that vindicates love, which to this day continues to be a resounding success and continues to thrill at every concert. In the videoclip of the song, a very young Alejandro appears, who was already showing signs of success. Three decades later, he has become a worldwide star. The song with which he began his artistic career "Pisando Fuerte".

2001 FIRST LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS: A HEART BEATING WITH PRIDE. What intense emotion can an artist feel when he receives the first award of this caliber in his career? Alejandro Sanz was the big winner at the second edition of the Latin Grammy Awards, winning four awards for his album El alma al aire. In 2001, the album was nominated for several awards and won the Latin Grammy for recording of the year, album of the year, song of the year ("El alma al aire") and best album by a male pop singer.

"El alma al aire" was Alejandro's fifth studio album, released by WEA latina on September 26, 2000, and produced, once again, by Emanuele Ruffinengo, following the style marked by his previous albums, but with a more modern sound, although fused with other genres such as flamenco, electronic or R&B, and which confirmed Sanz's consolidation in music stardom.

In terms of nominations, he was nominated for the Latin Grammy for best music video and best Latin pop album. The ceremony was not held due to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and the award winners were summoned a month later to a simple press conference.

The album spent several weeks on some charts and its singles Cuando nadie me ve, Quisiera ser and El alma al aire reached number one on Los 40 Principales. Sanz dedicated the awards to his three-month-old daughter Manuela and to "all the people who have worked with me". Alma al aire is a way of living and feeling. An explanation of what this way of understanding things means. A declaration of principles, a different way of expressing the greatness of a heart that feels imprisoned by words. GOLD MEDAL OF MERIT IN THE FINE ARTS

ALEJANDRO SANZ COLLABORATES WITH THE GROUP LA UNIÓN, 1996 Alejandro has said throughout his long career of thirty years, that he loves to collaborate with other musicians and friends, and make music with them. Rafa Sanchez, leader of the group La Union, a friend of Alejandro's, wanted, back in 1996, to make an album with soul and funk airs, and sounds for evasion, and the result was Hiperespacio, which included two songs in which Alejandro Sanz collaborated, Negrita and Ande yo caliente, in which he plays his guitar chords. After several chance encounters in concerts and crossed offers, between La Unión and Alejandro, the collaboration of Alejandro Sanz's guitar in this work is something that was not thought from the beginning: "We met in a concert and suddenly he tells us: 'Let's see when you invite me to play in an album', and we decided it right then and there", says Rafa.

On April 8, 2011, the Council of Ministers, at the proposal of the Minister of Culture, Ángeles González-Sinde, awarded the Gold Medals for Merit in the Fine Arts corresponding to the year 2010. The Medals distinguish individuals and entities that have excelled in the field of artistic and cultural creation or have rendered outstanding services in the promotion, development or dissemination of art and culture or in the conservation of artistic heritage. Alejandro Sanz was one of the personalities who received the award.

"I have been awarded the Gold Medal of Fine Arts of Spain, it is a pride to be recognized with such an important and serious award," said the maestro on his Twitter account. "I will celebrate by recording with my people and toast with a couple of songs. A hug to my fans who continue to be my best award". Again, we're satisfaction recognitions embrace you

proud of you, and feel absolute for your trajectory and all the you receive, Alejandro. We always from heart to heart.

In Negrita we can hear a remarkable Spanish guitar solo by Alejandro Sanz, giving it an even more mestizo and sensual air, although it does not appear in the song's videoclip. In Ande yo caliente, Sanz also contributes the sounds of his guitar, sounding that magic characteristic of his talent and his flamenco tones, joining the intrinsic quality of the group to that of Alejandro.

THE GESTURE OF EMOTION: A LUMP IN THE THROAT THAT SURRENDERED TO EMOTION. Barcelona, June 8, 2019. Alejandro Sanz concert, El Disco tour. Cornellà-El Prat Stadium. Alejandro Sanz on stage, and the warmth of his faMs sheltering the moment. Emotion sometimes strangles the voice to the point of leaving you speechless. And that's what happened to Alejandro on that unforgettable night for everyone, in that star moment when he sang El trato, when thousands and thousands of white balloons were illuminated by the light of the cell phones. An own initiative of the faMs, that at the proposal of the president of one of the Spanish clubs and that managed to confabulate the rest of them, cut the singer's breath, and his voice.

Then, Alejandro covered his face with his forearm and wept. At that instant, the stadium was falling down, and the giant screens picked up the moment. "You guys are crazy, what an outrage. I'm going to start again, okay? I love you, I love you.

Between applause and cheers, Alejandro hid his tears with a gesture of emotion. Those tears that escaped him because he was brimming with feelings from every pore of his skin.

"When I sing and look at you...my heart bursts with pride, and that's exactly what happened on Saturday in #LaGiraBarcelona. #ElGestoDeLaEmoción #LaGira" were the words of Alejandro Sanz on his social networks. That is exactly what happens to us as well. The feeling is mutual. The communion with you is magical and the gesture of emotion before the light that we give off when we look at you, has been marked in our lives forever.

ALEJANDRO SANZ: ALGECIRAS AMBASSADOR

PERFUME SEVEN: THE MAGIC OF THE SEVEN MUSICAL NOTES

The mayor of Algeciras explained in 2015, that he had sent a letter to Alejandro Sanz, explaining that given the affection he professes to that city, the family ties that bind him to Algeciras, and the concert he would offer on August 1 of that year, he would be appointed Ambassador of Algeciras by unanimous agreement of the entire Municipal Corporation of the town. Alejandro, son of an algecireño, Mr. Jesús Sánchez Madero, "Jesuli", has spent part of his childhood in that town, to which he has special memories and great friendships. He has always spoken of Algeciras with greatness and in a positive way, and for that reason, the city returned him all that same affection. Not only did he spend a good part of his childhood here, but he was also always closely linked to the brilliant guitarist Paco de Lucía, with whom he also shared a small homeland.

This 2007 perfume was the first feminine fragrance of the Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz, who in association with Idesa Parfums created two perfumes presented in two formats: a masculine one called "Siete Alejandro Sanz Men" and another for women "Siete Alejandro Sanz Woman", whose objective was to transmit the personality of the artist. Both fragrances were named "Siete" because of their mystical and numerological meaning, centered on the idea of the seven musical notes as the fundamental basis of the singer's world. The aromas of the seven fragrances, composed of ginger, rosewood, jasmine, violets, amber and exotic woods, are delicious.

In a ceremony full of emotion, the mayor of Algeciras said that Alejandro Sanz is the first defender and promoter of this city and he deserves it as he continuously shows his link to this land of great artists. Algeciras is like his home. In fact, the day of the recognition, Alejandro appeared on Twitter posting a photo of the beach of El Rinconcillo de Algeciras with the slogan "Camino a casa". musk,

Alejandro took advantage of a break in his successful tour "El tren de los momentos" to present this fragrance. The presentation event in Madrid gathered a good number of photographers and journalists. There, Alejandro explained that "Any form of expression that allows me to realize myself and with which I feel happy and at ease is always good". Alejandro Sanz sprayed the perfume among the audience and did not hesitate to say: "When I finish a concert, I smell of success". That's

your

smell,

Alejandro,

success, ours? the smell of constant pride in you.

UNCLE PACO, ETERNAL: SEPTEMBER 1, 2018 Any FaM of Alejandro knows that uncle Paco, Francisco Pizarro Medina, was a fundamental person in the artist's life. Always by his side in every hit, in every success, in every moment. Brother of María Pizarro, la Loba, the artist's mother, he was a man of life, cultured, elegant and with such clear ideas that whatever he wanted to say, he expressed it in a way that with the right words, he convinced and seduced friends and strangers alike. His town, proposal hundreds huge and

Alcalá de los Gazules (Cádiz), at the of a group of FaMs, followed by of them from all over Spain, paid a well-deserved tribute on September 1,

2018.

There, in the beloved and mythical Pizarro restaurant, his friends, hundreds of FaMs, his family, his acquaintances and people of the town who did not want to stop greeting Paco and expressing their affection and gratitude. In the middle of the emotional dinner that was being celebrated, in which uncle Paco was enjoying like a little boy among his nephew's FaMs, receiving gifts, kisses, taking pictures with everyone, watching videos of tribute received from different parts of the planet, Alejandro appeared in video conference from his home in Miami. We know that he would have liked nothing more than to be present in those moments, but professional commitments prevented him from doing so. The explosion of feelings of the moment cannot be explained. You could only feel and see an excited and tearful Alejandro dedicating some wonderful words to his uncle, who was all ears of pride and eyes of surprise to be seeing his nephew, even thousands of miles away. Photos: Reproduced from the internet

Tio Paco died in that same month and year. But every September 1st we will celebrate his life because it was a day marked forever as "Tio Paco's Day". We are left with the satisfaction and pride of knowing that he left this plane happy, content and enjoying his beloved "girls". Uncle Paco, everyone's uncle, wherever you are, in that little piece of heaven that shines, we tell you that you had the innate ability to be light and illuminate the paths of the lives you touched. That you always had your smile ready, your magic ready, and a little piece of wings wrapped to give away when we were by your side. We learned a lot from you. Thank you for your life. Don't ever let us go.

ALEJANDRO SANZ AT THE OPENING OF EURODISNEY

2010 ondas AWARDS

Back in April 1992, one of the most special moments of Alejandro's early days was his attendance to the opening of Disneyland Paris. In Spain, TVE was in charge of broadcasting this inauguration with Francine and Ricardo Fernández Deu. In that opening gala of the Euro Disney Park, located in Marne-La Valee, a few kilometers from Paris, the two communicators shared moments with Alejandro Sanz and toured some corners of the park, even boarded a train in which they rode while the artist showed an enthusiasm worthy of any child who was in that magical place.

Alejandro Sanz won three Ondas awards in 2010, including Best Song for Looking for Paradise, Best Album for Paraíso Express and Best Spanish Artist or Group. According to the jury of these prestigious awards, unanimity was achieved because the artist's work represents a new expression of Spanish pop in all its facets. Starting with one song, he built an album and a tour that placed him as the most relevant artist of 2010.

Alejandro recorded two songs for this great event on April 4, 1992, while staying at the Santa Fe hotel in the French capital. He then went to the park for sound checks. He later performed the songs Viviendo Deprisa and Lo que fui es lo que soy. A night surrounded by magical moments that marked history in the great amusement park, by the hand of our great artist. The 57th Ondas Awards ceremony took place during the Gran Gala held in Barcelona on November 19 of that year, at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

Alejandro, in Venezuela at that moment finishing Paraíso Express, expressed his excitement and his wonderful surprise for being chosen for these important awards, which he dedicated to his children Manuela and Alexander.

June 24, fam sanzero's day

Lo nuestro no tiene explicación

There was a day that marked our sanzera history forever: June 24, 2017. Fortunately, Alejandro's FaMs have many days a year to commemorate with our artist. Many triumphs, many tributes, ephemeris... We have no shortage of moments to admire the Maestro again and again. But that June 24, 2017 was a day of light. A day when the mythical #MásEsMás was held, which gathered around Sanz more than 50000 people, in the Vicente Calderón stadium in Madrid (last concert held within its walls), to remember the album Más which was celebrating its twentieth anniversary. That's why, since that blessed moment, tattooed in our souls forever, the FaMs decided to declare the day of FaM Sanzero to that magical and meaningful day. Photo: Reproduced from the internet

"De ti nacerán frases tan sinceras, que en ellas podría vivir..." And so, every year we celebrate, toast, dance and sing it to the four winds. We were lives that touched each other. So many things we piled up! Every June 24 we will bring back the memories you and we created. Emotions. What we learned, what we dreamed. Twenty years together with you, and all the years to come, Alejandro. Because our love for you is bulletproof and you know it grows with the battles.

THE MUSIC AND ALEJANDRO SANZ

BY ÓSCAR GARCÍA BLESA

Alejandro Sanz marks a before and after in the history of Spanish music. Analyzed in detail, Alejandro Sanz's dazzling success since his 1991 debut is an anachronistic miracle. In the mid-1980s, and during the first part of the 1990s, the global recording industry was experiencing a glittering era for bands. The musical tastes of fans on both sides of the Atlantic were largely supportive of the many bands emerging with their effervescent pop and rock anthems. In the Anglo-Saxon market, the 80s sounded like Bon Jovi, U2, Dire Straits, Guns n' Roses or Queen (sounds and melodies that would lead to the global irruption of Nirvana and Pearl Jam's Grunge in the early 90s, imposing a massive but ephemeral fashion). Photo: Reproduced from the internet

Meanwhile, in Spain, the charts saw the colossal push of the groups born after the Movida. Bands such as Duncan Dhu, Hombres G, Gabinete Caligari, Los Ronaldos or El último de la Fila were triumphing here, while in Latin America, Fabulosos Cadillacs, Soda Stereo, Aterciopelados, Café Tacuba, and Los Rodriguez as a link between continents, were sweeping with their Rock en Español. At this musical juncture, the proposal of a soloist, musician and author of his own melodic and romantic songs, did not fit the tastes of the time. Although only a priori. Alejandro Sanz, especially since the release of his single "Se le apagó la luz", offered a new musical perspective changing the pace of the recording industry in an unexpected way. Since the now distant 1991, the impact of his work is unfathomable.

THE MUSIC AND...

"Able to reformulate the romantic ballad, capturing the best of Italian romanticism, the Latin gene or the flamenco pinch, Alejandro Sanz has created album after album an inimitable seal of identity of his own, while serving as inspiration for generations of musicians who have followed in his wake. "

The effect of his songs on both sides of the ocean is overwhelming, always one step ahead and always with the relentless pursuit of finding the perfect song, a quest that, to this day, still keeps him busy. Alejandro, after the release of his first album, recovered the fever of the fan phenomenon, somewhat dormant since the great solo artists of the 70s. He was able to cope with the gigantic expectations when it came to releasing his second album, a more mature and serene album that gave consistency to his version of auteurism despite enjoying less commercial success. With "3" he openly embraced the Italian romantic ballad which he would take hold of with a nontransferable stamp, and which would lead to the whirlwind of "Más" with "Corazón partio" as the spearhead in the fusion of Latin and flamenco, and which would make him forever a global icon. Nothing would be the same since the release of the best-selling album in the history of Spanish music, and just when everything was pointing to a reasonable Alejandro changed the pace again with the release of "No es lo mismo", another essential work where, after consolidating himself as a balladeer and renovator of flamenco fusion, he approached Latin music from a new angle, an album that would serve as a foretaste to "La tortura" with Shakira, kilometer 0 of the Latin irruption that we are living nowadays all over the world. Alejandro Sanz has continued to explore his more personal side in works like "El tren de lo momentos" or openly pop like the luminous "Paraiso express". Along the way, he opened the door to unplugged Latin music with the naked version of his work in the first Unplugged by a Spanish artist and, already in the second decade of the 21st century, his musical journey has taken him to the very essence of global music such as funk or Caribbean sounds, always open to experiment and always being Alejandro. It is difficult to fully understand the Spanish music of the last thirty years without stopping at the work of Alejandro Sanz. Beyond his achievements in the form of sales or countless awards and prizes, the transcendence and impact of his work is in an amazing collection of songs, melodies capable of renewing with new air a whole genre, the taste of the followers of Spain, the United States and Latin America and serve as a guide to many artists who, after him, have claimed a way of understanding music inspired by his label.

We know that Alejandro Sanz, besides being a great musician, a great father, a great person, a great among the greats, is a great man of solidarity. Your actions define you, like the title of this article, Alejandro. Always on the side of the most disadvantaged, of the most noble and just causes, of the most vulnerable. Always helping and lending a hand to those who need it. Always involved and raising your voice against everything that can make our world a bad place, to turn it, with your speech and your activism, into that paradise we all seek. A journey through your soul of solidarity means going through emotions. It means describing your good work, your dedication to humanity. It means that tears come out of our eyes as we witness your constant presence and availability to all those who suffer, to humanity and to our battered planet. Let's get on the train of the most sensitive moments of Alejandro Sanz's solidarity actions. Photos: Reproduced from the internet

ALEJANDRO AND SAVE THE CHILDREN: BETTING ON CHILDHOOD Save the Children was founded in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb to help the millions of refugee and displaced children scattered throughout Europe after the First World War. As of 2020, Save the Children International is present in 130 countries where it develops programs related to child health, nutrition, emergency care, violence, quality education, governance in children's rights, trafficking, child labor exploitation and HIV/AIDS, among others. Alejandro has had a special bond with the foundation and its cause. We know that for him, children are sacred. Thus, in 2009 he supported STCH in the "Rewrite the Future" campaign, designed to provide education to children living in countries in armed conflict. With this campaign, three million children were able to go to school for the first time, and another five million saw the quality of their education improve. In support of this, Alejandro recorded a video spot, as well as other artists involved, such as Antonio Banderas, Penélope Cruz or Ana Belén, in which he asked to join the foundation and support this important cause. It was published in 2009, on the Youtube platform.

Already in 2017, Alejandro undertakes the campaign "Mandamos a callar el hambre en África" which, together with STCH, fights to end malnutrition in the Horn of Africa, where there are countries that were suffering the effects of the most devastating drought of the decade, and more than a million children at risk of dying from famine. Sanz, along with 17 other artists (Pablo Alborán, Antonio Carmona, David Bisbal, Malú, Vanesa Martín, India Martínez, Antonio Orozco, Niña Pastori, Abel Pintos, Tommy Torres, Shakira, Rozalen, Manuel Carrasco, Jesse & Joy, Juanes, Laura Pausini and Pablo López) raised their voices and recorded a new version of the song "Y si fuera ella", donating all the proceeds to the cause of child malnutrition in African countries affected by the crisis. In addition to the donation, Alejandro dedicated the video clip to STCH, filmed with children playing the role of the different artists, to end up forming the words "Save The Children" with wooden letters. In this way, Alejandro wanted to silence hunger and give voice to the most intense emotions. Once again, and already in 2019, Alejandro Sanz joins Save The Children to claim the protection of migrant children in Central America. Once again, the artist lends his voice and action to fight for children's rights. On this occasion, the "Childhood in Danger" campaign called for the protection of children migrating from Central America to the United States. Under the slogan #MásCorazónMenosMuros (MoreHeartLessWalls), which his FaMs clubs joined in social networks, the artist managed to make this claim visible and give great coverage and diffusion in support of the most vulnerable children. Save the Children and Alejandro Sanz sought to focus on the children who fled violence and instability in Central American countries, suffering all kinds of dangers on their way to the United States.

In 2015, thanks to his altruistic work and the great achievements obtained, Alejandro receives at the Albéniz Foundation in Madrid, a recognition and is named honorary member of Save The Children. He received his award visibly moved, affirming that he courageously defends the rights of children and fights for a more hopeful future for children. Photo: Reproduced from the internet

"Families migrating in Central America or children traveling alone are escaping situations of poverty and violence. They are just looking for an opportunity for a better future for themselves and their children. They are not doing anything that any of us would not do. These children deserve to be able to live a childhood and their protection needs to be ensured," said Alejandro.

ALEJANDRO SANZ AND GREENPEACE: HEARTBEATS FROM THE HEART OF A WOUNDED PLANET Greenpeace is an international environmental NGO. It campaigns around the world for issues such as organic farming, forests, climate change, against consumerism, for democracy and counterpower, disarmament and peace and care for the oceans, to which Alejandro Sanz is widely committed. Greenpeace is part of the Global Campaign for Climate Action, a worldwide alliance of organizations that was created to influence the negotiations at the United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in December 2009. In 2013, Alejandro Sanz traveled to the Arctic with Greenpeace to call for the protection of this threatened territory, and did so with a team from the environmental organization to the southern tip of the Arctic Circle to witness the beauty of this land and the way of life of the Inuit (the original people who inhabit this land), as well as how climate change and human pressure threatens their way of life and the nature on which this community is sustained. Alejandro Sanz was in line for this expedition. From the top of the Apusiaajik glacier he unfurled with Greenpeace a two-meter banner with the slogan "Save the Arctic" and called for action to sign up for UN protection of this last natural frontier. In the last 30 years the Arctic has lost three quarters of the permanent ice volume of the polar ice cap. A reality that has led to the mobilization of organizations, local communities and millions of people concerned about the conservation of this ecosystem. Alejandro was no less involved and went so far as to go to the foot of the ice cap and check in situ the delicate situation of the polar ice cap which, in the last thirty years, has lost three quarters of its permanent ice volume.

"We have to be aware that if we save the Arctic we will save much more. It is the most important environmental battle of the moment, because one of the few places on the planet where there is still an environmental balance is at stake, and because what happens there affects us all," said the artist. Photos: Reproduced from the internet

He also rightly said that "We have to get politicians and oil companies to listen to us to protect the international waters of the Arctic from the companies that are causing climate change and its melting. Oil companies see as an economic opportunity what would be a loss for humanity, the destruction of the Arctic". Alejandro Sanz took, as an Arctic ambassador with Greenpeace, this commitment to the protection of the Arctic to the White House. President Barack Obama publicly recognized the great importance of the area and the need to protect it, responding to the artist's request for U.S. leadership in the creation of an Arctic sanctuary. Obama stated in a letter to the musician that "the Arctic plays a critical role in our efforts to address climate change" and acknowledged that "we are all part of its protection and conservation."

She also lent her face to the photographic campaign of personalities for the Arctic, which also included sportsmen like Luis Figo, actors like Álex González, Carlos Bardem, models like Nieves Álvarez or designers like Carolina Herrera de Báez. But his activist attitude and commitment to the problem of polar melting did not stop there. Thus, in 2015 Alejandro Sanz took the defense of the Arctic to his Sirope tour, opening and closing each of his concerts with a video about the Arctic in which he encouraged support for the campaign to safeguard this natural enclave.

ALEJANDRO SANZ Y JUEGATERAPIA: NADA LE HACE MÁS FELIZ QUE LA SONRISA DE UN NIÑO

Already in 2016, Greenpeace launched its 'Voices for the Arctic' campaign, in which twenty personalities from the world of cinema, music, journalism, literature and cuisine, including Alejandro Sanz and Ricardo Darín, explained their reasons for saving this part of the planet.

On the 2019 #ElDisco tour, Alejandro brought a short video to his concerts in which he moved his large audience and asked for protection for the oceans and the species that inhabit them. In 2020, along with fifteen other artists, he participated in an initiative of the NGO on the occasion of World Environment Day, to ask for a "green" solution to the coronavirus crisis. Greenpeace disseminated this campaign under the slogan "Time for nature", with which the United Nations called on citizens to "listen" to the messages that the planet is sending us. The video featured Úrsula Corberó, Alejandro Sanz, Jon Kortajarena, Pedro Alonso, Elena Anaya, Rebeca Jiménez, Elvira Sastre, Benjamín Prado, Jane Goodall, Nerea Barros, Jan Cornet, Patricia Conde, Carlos Bardem, Gorka Otxoa, Fernando Valladares, Mar Gómez and Alfred García, and all drew attention to the importance of building a more environmentally friendly future, especially in a year in which the ravages of Covid-19 have made it advisable to create new social and economic foundations to make society more resilient to such situations that may occur in the future, such as, for example, the climate crisis. With all this, once again, we see and are proud witnesses of the enormous involvement of Alejandro Sanz with all the problems that beset our planet Earth, giving voice and dissemination to all those actions that through our responsibility, can change the fate of a humanity highly threatened by all the dangers that threaten our nature, our seas and our ecosystems. Juegaterapia was born in the spring of 2010. Mónica Esteban, its founder, gave a Play Station to a child who was receiving chemotherapy treatment in the hospital and immediately saw how the little boy cheered up and faced his illness with a smile on his face. Since then, the foundation helps children with cancer through games, collects video game consoles that other children no longer use and distributes them to hospitals so that the kids can spend their chemo treatments playing, being able to see the benefits that the game has on hospitalized children.

Being away from home, and in an unknown and hostile environment for them, video games, the tablet and the possibility of enjoying a garden inside the hospital, become a fundamental means to connect them with the world and make them forget where they are, and thus "chemo playing flies by".

Alejandro, always with a spirit of solidarity, generous and dedicated, especially when it comes to children, in 2014 he planted the first tree in the Garden of the 12 de Octubre Hospital in Madrid, to support the work of Juegaterapia with children suffering from cancer and make them happy so that "chemo can fly by while they play". The garden, now a reality, green areas, plants, swings would provide shade so admitted can go outside to their treatment.

would have 800m2 of and a large dome that that all the children play while they receive

"When you are the father of one child, you are the father of all the children in the world". With this huge phrase, Alejandro expressed his satisfaction for his collaboration with the project for which he was alerted thanks to the relationship that his brother Jesús maintains with the foundation. This concrete and different project attracted his attention because many times one does not really stop to think how important it is for the little ones to have their space and forget for a while that they are in a hospital.

In 2015, Alejandro designed a Baby Pelón doll, and visited the children of the Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid, for its presentation in the "II Garden of my Hospi" that the foundation had just inaugurated on the eighth floor of the motherchild building. The proceeds from the sales of these famous dolls, which are children with a scarf on their heads as a tribute to the little ones undergoing chemotherapy treatment, provide the foundation with benefits to continue with its objective and build more gardens in other hospitals so that all children suffering from long-term hospitalization can play outdoors and be happy like any other child. The Baby Pelones, born within the Wiwo Kids family, a one hundred percent Juegaterapia company, are the most beautiful solidarity gift in the world because they fill with affection the heart of those who buy them and leave a delicious vanilla smell in their hands forever. Alejandro, generous and committed, could not fail to contribute his doll to make the little ones happy and give them smiles that help them heal. Already in 2016, Alejandro and Juegaterapia brought their love and solidarity from Spain to the children of Amanc, with the gift of the baby pelones. During the soundcheck prior to his concert, in October of that year, at the Arena Ciudad de México, he received the children of the Mexican Association of Aid to Children with Cancer (AMANC), as Honorary Ambassador of the Juegaterapia Foundation of Spain. The little ones enjoyed and laughed, sharing the stage and instruments with the Madrid-born artist and his band, who also presented them with sixty Baby Pelones, the cutest dolls in the world. A few months before this event, Alejandro visited with the Foundation the CNIO (National Cancer Research Center), one of the most important organizations in the world in the research against this disease. he CNIO Friends initiative raises funds to support cancer research and within the line of work that Juegaterapia began to draw, "Juegaterapia Research", signed to fund a grant of 100,000 euros to develop, for two years, research projects of excellence in pediatric tumors. The artist accompanied the foundation as Honorary Ambassador, during a visit to the CNIO to learn about the work being done there.

"I liked the illusion they had, I got involved and here I am" - stated the artist. Photo: Reproduced from the internet

The funds to finance this project would come from the profits obtained from the sale of the Baby Pelones.

Finally, Alejandro Sanz has given voice, in 2021, to Juegaterapia's documentary "La quimio jugando se pasa volando", which reflects a scientific study related to cancer in children and video games promoted by the foundation itself and carried out at the Hospital La Paz in Madrid. The study, which can be consulted in the Journal of Medical Internet Research, states that pediatric cancer patients with post-chemotherapy mucositis, apparently one of the most painful consequences of the treatment, feel less pain when they play video games. The Foundation's short film, released in January of this year, can be seen on Amazon Prime Video and Filmin. This new campaign aims to appeal for the donation of consoles. The voice of the world's best ambassador, Alejandro Sanz, leads the story that is captured in the documentary. The artist was in charge of narrating this documentary with great emotion and with an eye on the great work of recovery of children who are being treated for this cruel disease.

Alejandro sponsored this agreement stating that "The fight against cancer is a war and I am a soldier". Once again, it was easy to be left speechless and with many emotions before the greatness of the artist. "Yesterday we planted the #FirstSeed in #ElJardíndeMiHospi of the #Gregorio Marañón Hospital. This space is designed with great enthusiasm for children to play and feel the sunlight in their recovery process. Thank you @juegaterapia for your work, affection and love".

ALEJANDRO SANZ AND DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS: HEALTH DOES NOT UNDERSTAND MAPS

With this tweet, Alejandro announced in December 2018, his new collaboration with the foundation and the "IV Jardín de mi Hospi", this time in the Gregorio Marañón hospital in Madrid.

Alejandro told the media that "I am here for the children, who are our children, everyone's children, so that they can feel more feel more loved and cared for. This means a lot." It was a very special day for a cause that is always worthwhile. Because solidarity is always a great idea, and our dear Alejandro knows it, he practices it constantly and makes it clear in any of his emotional manifestations when it comes to talking about the most vulnerable, innocent, unprotected or weak. Doctors Without Borders is an international medical and humanitarian organization that provides aid to victims of natural and man-made disasters and armed conflicts, without any discrimination of race, sex, religion, philosophy or politics.

It was founded in 1971, following the secession of Biafra, by a small group of French doctors and journalists who sought to expand access to medical care beyond national borders and without distinction of race, religion, creed or political affiliation, defending the exercise of humanitarian aid as a right. Alejandro Sanz, once again, collaborating and echoing all causes that help humanity and the weakest, in 2010 starred in a spot for an initiative of the Organization. The campaign was called "Pastillas para el dolor ajeno" (Pills for the pain of others). In his hit song "No es lo mismo", Alejandro talked about how he has "ointment for all pains, remedies for all kinds of mistakes. Also prescriptions "pa' la desilusión". And he made it come true.

Not in vain, whenever Alejandro is committed to any kind of initiative, he gets involved to the core, helps, spreads, abandons, consoles, heals, cures, heals. He is one of our most conscientious artists and so he joined this original initiative. In this spot, a great advertising success of solidarity, Sanz introduces us to Mandile, a child from Zimbabwe who is HIV positive, and with his message he puts his finger on the sore spot: "only 1 in 10 children receive treatment. The problem is simple, without access to treatment there is no cure". The box of pills contained six candies, one for each of the neglected diseases: Kala azar, tuberculosis, malaria, Chagas disease, sleeping sickness and childhood AIDS. The artist himself takes one of these "Pills for the pain of others". The campaign was also supported by Luis García Berlanga, Andrés Iniesta and Xavi Alonso, Juan José Millás, producer Andreu Buenafuente, Ferrán Adriá, Estopa, Pilar Bardem, Pau Donés and Eduard Punset. In just three months since the launch of the campaign and the sale of the pills, the foundation had already sold more than three million units. Again in 2011, Alejandro Sanz collaborates with Doctors Without Borders in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, where the project Positive Generation. Voices for a future without AIDS. Doctors Without Borders used music as a means of raising awareness to explain to those affected and their families that they were not alone and that there was a treatment to combat the disease so that it would not become a stigma in Africa. This music was launched worldwide through this project in which the Spanish composer Javier Limón also participated. Positive Generation was to publicize the extraordinary songs of Zimbabwean support groups and choirs that spoke about the challenges of the HIV/AIDS disease. They managed to merge with the talent of the artists who collaborated: Alejandro Sanz, Antonio Carmona, Javier Limón, Estrella Morente, Juan Luis Guerra, Carminho, Andrés Calamaro, Oliver 'Tuku' Mtukudzi and others. As part of the Paraíso tour, Alejandro set up MSF information booths at all the concerts, broadcasting a video in support of the campaign as the public entered the different venues. Also, Alejandro Sanz and Antonio Carmona collaborated together with the song "Para que tú no llores así", joining their voices in favor of Doctors Without Borders, donating all the proceeds to the association, from the sale of the solidarity mp3 in which the song was included. Already in 2019, Alejandro Sanz projected on the screens of his concerts on his tour in Mexico, a video in support of Doctors Without Borders, in a new and powerful solidarity action with the foundation and its cause.

ALEJANDRO SANZ AND UNICEF: PROTECTING CHILDREN IS THE MOST LEGITIMATE GOAL OF HUMANITY The United Nations Children's Fund or Unicef is an agency of the United Nations (UN) based in New York that provides humanitarian aid and development assistance to children and mothers in developing countries. It was originally created in 1946 as the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (Unicef) to help the children of Europe after World War II, when all was destruction and desolation. Lives had to be rebuilt. Today, Unicef helps mainly in areas of extreme poverty in Africa and other parts of the world. Humanitarian rights are Unicef's areas of action and include child development, adolescence, and participation in life patterns, based on education, child development, gender equality, partnerships for children, etc. Alejandro, siempre en su línea de solidaridad y repartiendo esperanza a cualquier ser humano que sufra, ha colaborado con Unicef en varias ocasiones. Alejandro, always in his line of solidarity and giving hope to any human being who suffers, has collaborated with Unicef on several occasions. On Christmas Eve 1991, Tve1 broadcasted a concert by Alejandro in favor of Unicef at the Real Madrid Sports Pavilion. In 2007, Alejandro Sanz, Juan Luis Guerra and Miguel Bosé participated in Valladolid Latino, a repertoire for all audiences with the most outstanding novelties of Hispanic rhythms, in a concert that donated part of its proceeds to Unicef's charitable works and projects.

In 2020, Alejandro Sanz, Sara Carbonero, David Beckham and Orlando Bloom participated in Unicef's events for World Children's Day. Our beloved and admired artist joined this World Children's Day through a talk with young climate change activists: Juan (Spain), Nicole (Argentina), Nina (Bolivia), Sara (Costa Rica) and Axel (Ecuador), and gave his social networks Twitter and Instagram to activists Fabiola (Peru), Alan (Mexico) and Simon (Haiti) to give them a voice and make their initiatives in defense of the environment visible, under the hashtag #UnaSolaGeneración. We could continue to recount in this article the intense and powerful solidarity facet of Alejandro Sanz throughout his life, and we would not have enough pages to do so. The numerous actions carried out and the results achieved enlighten the soul of anyone who knows about it. This article has wanted to pay a welldeserved tribute to someone who is always available to support noble and vital causes, going through his work with some of the most important foundations, without forgetting so many others with which Alejandro is always collaborating, such as Felupus, Universo Santi, DKV Salud, Agentes Solidarios, Asindown, Apace Burgos, and a long etcetera. We are sure that the story will continue and rivers of ink will be written in applause, thanks and praise for someone who, besides knowing how to make the best music, also knows how to make others happy and give his hands and his heart always available for humanity and the planet. He gives hope to all those for whom he is the very gift. The best of all gifts.

From the hand of the director... He feels the pain of loss before it even happens, the pain of letting go, the pain of accepting the sentence and having to live with it every day when he wakes up.

Songs can be many things and one of them is having the power to say what we can't even speak. Having Alejandro Sanz's music in our lives means that we will never be left without an answer to our feelings, we will always find a way forward. I feel my soul shudder when I listen to this song. The reason for choosing a song for this article is always very personal and at the same time I feel that I walk hand in hand with the poet of my life. One sentence, fifteen lyrics and four words: Tú no tienes alma (You don’t have a soul).

The song traverses a conflict between the poet's feelings for someone close to him who is about to leave.... His helplessness at not being able to change what is about to happen and even more knowing that he has absolutely no control moves him to struggle to find a way out.

Photo: Reproduced from the internet

In the first verse we see the poet declaring that he does not have the courage, the bravery to say goodbye as if it were a simple goodbye, as if nothing will happen after his departure. As if nothing would happen after her departure. How to face this pain like any other? The poet was sure that it was not possible to live with this pain.

“Tú no tienes ganas… y yo me muero por darte las fuerzas que hagan falta.” The conversation between the poet and his friend makes it clear that he no longer feels like fighting, and with that comes a declaration that he would die in his place if necessary to make up for the strength he lacked to not give up his battle. A demonstration of the poet's genuine love for someone he loved and admired to the point of conveying that feeling that he would die in his place. We witness a conflict between two souls struggling in opposite directions.

“Tú no tienes derecho a decirnos adiós y yo no tengo el derecho a decirte que no.” An inconceivable sentiment in a conversation by the poet saying that he had no right to just walk away, but at the same time affirming that he has no right to say no either. Our will may be infinite and our faith unshakable, but this is the moment when we realize our limitations as human beings. The poet pauses in his sentiments and makes room for reflection on the life his friend lived... “Dime si has visto por fin que una vida te basta.” Tell me if you have finally seen that one life is enough for you." The song leaves the answer open and allows us to question ourselves within this sentiment... life goes by so fast, so many things happen, we are so connected to work and daily tasks to be done that we forget to stop and ask ourselves if the one life we have we are living as we should... everything goes by fast, even the people we love.

“Tú no tienes cara de abandonar la batalla…” It was not part of his personality to give up the fight, but he felt he could not continue, and yet he found the strength to keep looking into the eyes of the people next to him wishing the end would be different.

How painful it is to go on as if it were nothing.... A poet who finds the strength in his dawn to go on even with a broken heart and a screaming soul. A poet who reinvents himself at every turn life gives him.

“Seguiré gritando que ni el cielo fue bastante…” Not even heaven could stop what was built with the strength of the heart. An alliance that cannot be broken even after a separation between earth and heaven. A bond that was built on years of friendship, complicity, learning, mutual love, true and incorruptible, cannot be broken or stopped. He will always be alive and beating in your heart... Photo: Reproduced from the internet

The poet's anguished soul declares: “pa’ olvidarte, dame un alma que no sepa nada de tus manos…” he would need to be someone else and have another life to forget everything that was built in that life with him. He wearily abandons a destiny that was sealed, surely, with a heart at peace after a life fighting and winning great battles. The uncontrollable pain of the poet unburdens himself “yo no tengo la llave que cierra el dolor”... everything would be easier if he could end that pain.

“Dime si ves por ahí un espacio y te escapas…” A tireless poet with a heart full of hope until the last minute, he did not give up the battle.

We can't talk about LIFE without talking about Alejandro Sanz's songs, every song became at some point the soundtrack of our lives. That is the exact point where I want to dedicate this song that has spoken so much to my heart, that expresses my deepest and most sincere feelings to my grandmother who has been gone for five months... pa' olvidarte dame un alma que no sepa nada... de tus manos.

VIVIENDO DEPRISA Alejandro came on strong from the first moment he was launched into the music industry in 1990, recently signed to Warner Music. At that time there was nothing like what they had heard, Alejandro was a rare treasure and had beautiful gems composed by himself. You could tell he was a step ahead of the rest. The strong point of the time was the Pop-Rock bands and not solo artists like Alejandro who liked to compose and play the guitar.

Warner Music quickly realized that Alejandro would be a natural musical phenomenon.

guy, at the same time classic, innovative, with magnificent voice and a distinct harmony. The music world is a difficult market, where everything must be done carefully, it must be thought out intelligently in making decisions. An important decision was in Alejandro's hands. Capi had not only talked to Íñigo Zabala, he had talked to other companies besides Warner Music. At that time, Alejandro's name was circulating very strongly in the music world and everyone wanted the young solo artist that Spain had never seen before.

The other music company was "BMG Ariola".... At

that

Alejandro, the values were getting higher and higher, Capi said at the time that it seemed like the stock market. Álvaro Torres made the proposal to produce a single while Íñigo Zabala from Warner Music proposed to produce an album. Each time this story became more and more interesting and disputed. Alejandro was disappointed with BMG Ariola, for not trusting him to record a full album and offering him only a single.

"I told Capi that I wouldn't go into a studio to record a single". - Alejandro. Warner was a small company at that time without much musical tradition in Spain, they had just arrived in the country, while BMG Ariola was the opposite with a great local strength and had much better conditions. Íñigo Zabala fought with all his strength to have Alejandro with him, every time the proposal from the other side came up, he went up on this side. This dispute did not seem to end, it was getting bigger and bolder...

"And then Íñigo calls me and tells me: <<We can't offer more, but I'm always going to be a fan of yours, you're going to sell a lot of records, you're very good, and what you do I love and it touches my heart>>”.

"I was willing to pay the world, the world and a half, to make the pineapple, to get down on my knees, whatever it took." - Íñigo.

Alejandro did not take long to make his

Despite

1991, Viviendo Deprisa The most awaited moment for Alejandro arrived, finally recording the songs he had composed himself. He was focused, eager to do a great job and confirm all the confidence placed in him. It was his first album with Capi, the two of them worked practically alone without an arrangement concept, much less a production concept. A studio, heart, a few musicians and the master Eddy Guerin made magic and turned "Viviendo Deprisa" into the phenomenon of the moment. Although it was not a cheap album (six million pesetas), it was worth every million invested, no doubt.

Singles The first single "Los dos Cogidos de la mano" was released on April 22, 1991. Everything was a challenge, Alejandro was different

artist,

it

was

romantic, poetic... this style of song was not heard much on the radio, so it was not considered totally commercial. Initially the song didn't land well, it wasn't what they expected... but the album was full of singles and a gamble by Íñigo Zabala to release "Pisando Fuerte" as the second single was just perfect and accurate.

Pisando Fuerte became the hit of the moment in Spain.

Alejandro aroused the interest of television, after all, how could he be any different? He was young, handsome, charismatic, sweet... but

he

Promotion Alejandro and Cádiz have built throughout these thirty years of career a history full of remarkable moments since 1991. It could not have been anywhere else, it had to be Cádiz. The promotion of the album started in Cádiz. He had an infallible way of dealing with people; it was no coincidence that he won over the sales and promotion staff, one by one in every province he passed through. The first place Cádiz: where the record began to circulate was in the record stores of Algeciras. There they did everything from signing autographs to raffling a motorcycle.

"He won us over. We became his unconditional fans, we reinforced the radio plays of his songs, we developed an intense promotion of his first appearance and we verified how, day by day, a wave of fans was growing without brake waiting impatiently to meet him in person." - Juan Ochoa

Thirty years after the release of "Viviendo Deprisa", Alejandro has become one of the most influential figures and a universal singer. Los 40 Cadiz opened its doors to Alejandro, thus taking a firm step in the promotion of the album. The first concert within the promotion was on a

Radio We are talking about the year 1991 when things were totally different from what they are today, there were no camera phones, we did not have YouTube, nor other streaming platforms, nor any application to listen to music. The artist was heard and known through the radios, an infallible power tool.

"The first one who put a song of mine on the radio was Carlos Arco. I remember the first time I heard one of my songs on the radio. I was in a car, my mother's Seat 600, for me it was incredible. I have very good memories of my songs playing and the truth is that that stays with me." - Alejandro

"Sales began in Andalusia, but soon followed in Madrid, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Barcelona... signing in the Pryca stores. At the beginning we did them in the morning, with few pretensions. In a second phase we were already destroying the stores, it was a problem of public order, there were never less than six or seven hundred girls." - Alfonso González.

The start of sales was not overwhelming, it was a little slower, there was nothing "in a hurry" (laughs). But little by little things were moving forward in a positive way. The confidence was the same as at the beginning, the dreaming hearts that were by Alejandro's side were not intimidated by the numbers. It was a young man's dream come true, his first album on an expressive label like Warner Music. He stayed the course singing everywhere, so the success went viral and the story was written chapter by chapter. When

Wherever the Viviendo Deprisa promotion went, it was crazy getting in and out of places, it was always a huge confusion, as girls surrounded the streets shouting Alejandro's name. So imagine... Alejandro is a boy who lived in a quiet neighborhood, he was a stranger and led a

simple

and

life.

Overnight

he

became Alejandro Sanz, an artist who was growing rapidly, everyone knew him, a crowd of fans grew quickly making him a superstar.

Alejandro's effort to get where he got to was always evident, there were hours and hours of work, dedicating himself and believing in himself, we could not expect less than what happened, he deserved it for everything he did and for composing songs that came straight from his heart. "Se le apagó la luz" undoubtedly changed Alejandro Sanz's career, it was released to the radios as the third single from the album "Viviendo Deprisa". It was a strategy that worked very well to release the song at that time as everyone knew him, he was loved and a friend of all the radio stations... a superstar on the rise. It did exactly what everyone expected: the song was a hit.

"Besides having a very beautiful melody, the song narrates events that anyone could be a part of. Alejandro is a great storyteller." - Capi

"The first time I cried after a concert was at the Unicef benefit show at the Real Madrid pavilion that was broadcast on television, after doing one hundred and thirty performances all over Spain. I finally saw success, because I had worked so hard. I had traveled all over Spain by car doing Super 1, El Gran Musical, interviews of all kinds... Everything. That day hearing people chanting my name before going on stage blew my soul. Viviendo Deprisa Tour 1992 was a different year from the previous one, it marked the beginning of a new stage, Alejandro would start his first tour. He had 10 songs to do a show of between eighty and ninety minutes. But he is Alejandro Sanz... a singer with many resources, ready to shine. There was no lack of talent to fill the concert time of an hour and a half, they did long solos, different versions of their own songs, sang bulerías, gave speeches on current issues ... They

did

everything!

And

everyone

was

thrilled... they were in awe of him.

Six editions and many reasons to be thankful. One of them is to thank life for coinciding with you at the same time. I stopped for a moment and without thinking too much I realized that my biggest fight could not be won with courage alone. I started sweating, my hands were cold and my heart was breaking. I closed my eyes and the first thing that came to my mind was a song of yours, Alejandro. A sincere smile took over the space that was once insecurity. Your voice reassured me. Memories began to invade my being and in all the good things I thought of you were somehow there, wrapped in magic. To have a life marked by your music is a privilege that not everyone is able to understand. Alejandro, you are constant like the waves of the sea, you are joy, you are peace, tranquility, you are love, you are strength, courage and bravery, you are hope, you are music, poetry. You know how to be fleeting and you know how to be permanent. You encourage me to be brave and in that moment of uncertainty, you become certainty. You are my safe place, my source of joy.And as long as I breathe... I will be here walking hand in hand with you. Because there is nothing more beautiful than writing to you. In addition to words, I dedicate my courage and bravery to you, because without you... getting here would not be possible. I love you from here to Mars. Photo: Reproduced from the internet
