O icônico edifício Birmann 21 já foi o lar de uma das maiores empresas de comunicação do Brasil, a Editora Abril. Agora, o prédio é a casa de outra companhia que tem na distribuição de conteúdo uma de suas principais estratégias de negócios, a promotora Informa Exhibitions. Do 22º andar, com uma vista panorâmica para a cidade de São Paulo, Marco Basso comanda a operação brasileira da companhia que cresceu em 2018 após a aquisição global da UBM, outra gigante promotora de feiras.

Basso contou para a Radar Magazine detalhes desta movimentação que alçou a Informa à liderança global da organização de feiras e como será a nova estrutura da empresa.

O ano de 2018 começou com as informações da então possível fusão entre a Informa e a UBM. Como foi este processo?

Em janeiro de 2018, surgiu uma intenção de fusão que só se concretizou, de fato, em junho. Mas, desde o início, a empresa começou a se organizar para ver como seriam as responsabilidades a partir da hora que a fusão fosse concretizada. Então, existiram alguns workshops e reuniões para se discutir como seriam os novos modelos de negócios. Participei de várias reuniões, em diversos locais, nas quais discutíamos como ia ser a operação do Meio-Oriente, Europa, Ásia, América Latina e Estados Unidos. Foi assim que começamos a traçar os objetivos de integração. A partir de 18 de junho, os planos passaram a ser implementados em várias partes do mundo, até que, em 1º de setembro, iniciamos o processo no Brasil.

Nesta data, ficou decidida formalmente a nova organização da operação brasileira da Informa.

The iconic Birmann 21 building was once home to one of Brazil’s largest communications companies, Abril.

Now, the building is the home of another company that has in content distribution one of its main business strategies, Informa Exhibitions. From the 22nd floor, with a panoramic view of the city of São Paulo, Marco Basso commands the Brazilian operation of the company that grew in 2018 after the global acquisition of UBM, another giant fair organizer. Basso told Radar Magazine details of this move that has lifted Informa to the global leadership of fair organization and how it will be the new structure of the company.

2018 began with the information of the potential merger between Informa and UBM. How was this process?

In January 2018 a merger intention arose that only materialized, in fact, in June. But, from the beginning the company began to organize to see what the responsibilities would be as soon as the merger was completed. Then there were some workshops and meetings to discuss how the new business models would be. I participated in several meetings, at local amusements, where we discussed how the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Latin America and the United States operation would be designed to achieve integration goals. As of June 18, plans were being implemented in various parts of the world and, in Brazil, arrived on September 1st. On this date was formally decided the new organization of the Informa’s Brazil operation.

When the deal was completed, Informa announced the start of the Accelerated Integration Plan. How was this process in Brazil?

Quando a negociação foi concluída, a Informa anunciou o início do Plano de Integração Acelerada. Como foi este processo no Brasil? É um trabalho bastante minucioso, que ainda continua, pois inicialmente foi feito o processo de integração e, agora, estamos no processo de combinação. Já estamos trabalhando como uma única empresa, com objetivos combinados, e focados nas sinergias que motivaram a fusão.

Como ficou a nova estrutura interna?

Fizemos a reorganização e dividimos em núcleos de trabalho. Hoje se reportam a mim cinco diretores de núcleo. A Clélia Iwaki, com o núcleo que engloba a Fispal; a Liliane Bertolucci, com os eventos da Abimaq, Agrishow, Formóbile e Future Print; o Hermano Pinto, com a Futurecom, Tecnocarne, ABF Expo, Cards Future Payment e a Fenalaw; o Rodrigo Moreira, que comanda o portfólio de saúde com a Hospitalar e a Live Healthcare; e o Rodrigo

A very detailed work has been done, which is still ongoing, since the integration process was initially done and we are now in the process of combining. We are now working as a single company, with combined objectives, which has synergy goals to justify the merger.

How was the new internal structure?

We did the reorganization and we split into working cores. Today, five core directors report to me. Clélia Iwaki, with the core that includes Fispal, Liliane Bertolucci with the events of ABIMAQ, Agrishow, Formóbile and Future Print, Hermano Pinto with Futurecom, Tecnocarne, ABF Expo, Cards Future Payment and Fenalaw. Then we have Rodrigo Moreira, who runs the health portfolio with Hospitalar and Live Healthcare, and Rodrigo Ferreira, who came with the acquisition of CanalEnergia by UBM. We also have Araceli Silveira, who is our Vice President of Marketing and Nick Owen, our COO, who got the legal

Ferreira, que veio com a aquisição do CanalEnergia pela UBM. Temos ainda a Araceli Silveira, que é nossa vice-presidente de Marketing, e o Nick Owen, nosso COO, que ficou com a parte jurídica, procurement, finanças, operações e sales excelence. É uma estrutura bem enxuta, mas bem consolidada.

Além do Rodrigo Moreira e do Rodrigo Ferreira, quais outras pessoas chegaram da UBM? Chegaram 98 pessoas da UBM. Elas se somaram aos cerca de 200 colaboradores com os quais já contávamos.

Então, hoje somos em torno de 300 pessoas, das quais 220 atuam com as feiras e o restante se divide entre suporte financeiro e business inteligence.

Todas as feiras que vieram junto com a aquisição serão continuadas?

Sim, elas reforçaram nosso portfólio e vão continuar. A única pequena mudança, talvez, é que por falta de sinergia com nossas verticais, a Marintec, voltada à indústria naval, volte aos antigos donos que já eram sócios da feira. A Intermodal, Concrete, NT Expo e Food Ingredients estão sob responsabilidade da Márcia Gonçalves, que veio da UBM, e se reporta para o Rodrigo Moreira.

Antes da compra, a UBM tinha uma estratégia voltada para “events first”, enquanto a Informa vinha com uma forte estratégia de verticalização de seu portfólio. Como ficou a junção destas duas culturas?

A estratégia da UBM de “events first” foi uma maneira de focar a organização no principal produto que ela tinha, as feiras. Com isso, a UBM foi vendendo outras partes do negócio, como a PR Newswire etc. Contudo, o mercado de feiras de hoje demanda que os organizadores sejam também formadores de mercado de uma maneira mais ampla do que simplesmente a organização de uma feira pontual no ano. Precisa estar presente 365 dias no ano como formadores de opinião, ponto de referência e

part, procurement, finances, operations and sales excellence. It is a very lean structure, but well consolidated.

Besides the two Rodrigos what other people came from the UBM? 98 people from the UBM arrived and before that, we had about 200 employees. So today we are about 300 people, with 220 in the trade fair part and the rest in financial support and business intelligence.

Will all the fairs that came along with the acquisition be continued?

Yes, they have strengthened our portfolio and will continue. The only small change, perhaps, is that for lack of synergy with our verticals, Marintec go back to the former owners who were already partners in the fair. Intermodal, Concrete, NT Expo and Food Ingredients are under the responsibility of Márcia Gonçalves, who came from UBM, and reports to Rodrigo Moreira.

Prior to the acquisition, UBM had the “Events First” strategy, while Informa has a strong strategy to verticalize its portfolio. How was the junction of these two cultures?

UBM’s strategy of Events First was a way to focus the organization on the main product it had, the fairs. With this, UBM has been selling other parts of the business like PR Newswire and so on. However, today’s fair market demands that the organizers are also market makers in a broader way than simply organizing a punctual trade fair in the year. We need to be present 365 days a year as opinion formers, reference and update point. In this sense, CanalEnergia, which is a mix of information portal of the sector with some events, has brought to us a way to approach an industry that can even be replicated in other sectors.

de atualização. Neste sentido, o CanalEnergia, que é uma mistura entre portal de informações do setor com alguns eventos, trouxe para nós uma maneira de abordar um segmento que pode ser até replicado em outras áreas.

A estratégia do grupo depois da aquisição seguirá, então, com a verticalização e introdução de conteúdo?

A estratégia da Informa é ter uma plataforma de negócios, relacionamento e conteúdo. É um tripé. A plataforma de negócios é a própria feira, relacionamento são as funcionalidades de matchmaking, com as pessoas se encontrando e se relacionando na feira, e temos o conteúdo. As feiras continuam sendo o ponto focal da empresa, mas complementando este ponto focal, estamos com a parte de fornecimento de informação e inteligência.

Nesta estratégia, o que pode ser acrescentado para melhorar os eventos que vieram da UBM? Não queremos impor mudança, pois a UBM já trabalhava muito bem as feiras deles, queremos reforçá-las. O primeiro evento proprietário que iremos realizar, que era da UBM, será a Intermodal. Já nesta edição aumentaremos a parte de conteúdo, algo que será mais forte em 2020. Começamos timidamente nesta edição, porque tivemos pouco tempo para trabalhar, mas já terá esta parte de conteúdo implantada. Em todos os eventos a estratégia será complementar aqueles que eram realizados pela UBM.

and content platform. It is a tripod. The business platform is the fair itself, relationship is the matchmaking features, with people meeting and relating at the fair and we have the content. The fairs continue to be the focal point of the company, but complementing this focal point, we are part of providing information and intelligence.

In this strategy, what can be added to improve the events that came from the UBM? Not that we want to impose change, because the UBM already worked their fairs very well, we want to reinforce it. The first proprietary event we will hold, which was UBM’s, will be Intermodal. Already in this edition we will increase the content part, something that will be stronger in 2020. We started shyly in this edition, because we had little time to work, but it will already have this part of content implanted. In all events, this will be the strategy to complement the UBM events.

How does the merger impact the events industry in a global way and in Brazil?

UBM and Informa are very complementary companies.

Where Informa was strong, UBM was not, and vice versa.

So there was little friction in the junction, almost none.

We have complementary events, in complementary verticals. In this sense, it was a merger that had little sectoral impact. Now, thinking on the representativeness side, it

Como a fusão impacta no setor de eventos de uma maneira global e no Brasil?

A UBM e a Informa são empresas muito complementares. Onde a Informa era forte, a UBM não era e vice-versa. Então, houve pouco atrito com a junção, quase nenhum. Temos eventos complementares, em verticais complementares. Neste sentido, foi uma fusão que teve pouco impacto setorial. Agora, é claro que o porte que a Informa adquiriu, nos dá mais força de representatividade e começa a atrair também outros negócios que se sentem compelidos a estar perto de uma força maior.

Aumentou nosso poder de conversa com os fornecedores e nos deu uma capacidade financeira mais robusta.

Com este aumento de capacidade financeira, podemos esperar mais aquisições da Informa no Brasil?

Não posso adiantar, mas sim, não paramos nem no Brasil nem no mundo. Seguimos com a estratégia de aquisições e estamos procurando oportunidades em todos os setores que atuamos. Mas, além disso, a fusão também aumenta nossa capacidade de atração de talentos, que também é um ativo importantíssimo. Ainda mais

is clear that the size that Informa has acquired gives us a greater strength of representation and begins to attract other businesses that feel compelled to be close to a larger force. It has increased our power of conversation with suppliers and has given us a more robust financial capacity.

With this increase in financial capacity, can we expect more acquisitions of Informa in Brazil?

I cannot help it, but we do not stop in Brazil or the world. We continue with the strategy of acquisitions and we are looking for opportunities in all the sectors that we operate. But in addition, the merger also increases our ability to attract talent, which is also a very important asset. More so in this sector that is becoming professionalized, that does not have as many people in the market with experience in this area.

Not to mention the UBM events, the portfolio change you had leaving the Expo Revestir and the arrival of the ABUP Gift & Fair. How were these moves?

neste setor que está se profissionalizando, que não tem tanta gente no mercado com experiência nesta área.

Sem contar os eventos da UBM, houve mudança de portfólio com a saída da Expo Revestir e a chegada da ABUP Gift & Fair. Como foram estes movimentos?

A Expo Revestir foi uma questão puramente comercial.

A Anfacer estava buscando redução de custo e a NürnbergMesse Brasil foi mais agressiva que a Informa em sua proposta de organizar o evento. Já a Abup resolveu se juntar à Informa no ano passado porque ela queria ter uma empresa de porte para poder mostrar força para seus expositores, uma vez que existe uma disputa comercial também entre a Abup, ABCasa e a própria Abimad.

A Abup apostou que com a Informa ela terá uma força adicional para se posicionar. Nós estávamos abertos a esta conversa e fechamos um contrato de três edições.

O que mais o surpreendeu quando você começou a trabalhar com os colegas da UBM? Quais são as maiores oportunidades que podem ser aproveitadas com a integração das duas empresas?

O que me surpreendeu positivamente foi a qualificação das pessoas que chegaram. Tem muita gente boa na UBM, além de produtos bons. Sobre as oportunidades, a UBM tinha algumas metodologias em relação à estratégia de produtos que gostamos e que podemos aplicar aqui. A fusão das duas empresas foi bem feliz. A integração no novo escritório também deu uma motivação maior para a equipe. Ambas saíram de seus escritórios, que eram mais acanhados, para um prédio ícone de São Paulo. Isso também dá para a equipe outro momento de felicidade e motivação para trabalhar.

Brasil was more aggressive than Informa in its proposal to organize the event for ANFACER and they preferred to go with a lower cost. ABUP decided to join Informa last year because it wanted to have a large company to show strength for its exhibitors, since there is a commercial dispute between ABUP, ABCasa and ABIMAD itself. ABUP bet that with Informa they will have an additional strength to position itself. We were open to this conversation and closed a three-issue contract.

What surprised you most when you started working with the UBM colleagues and with the integration of the two companies, what are the greatest opportunities that can be taken advantage of?

I was positively surprised at the qualification of the personnel. There are a lot of good people at UBM and good products. But I was positively surprised by the quality of the assets and qualification of the people who arrived. In terms of opportunities, the UBM had some methodologies in term of product strategy that we like and that we can apply here. The merger of the two companies was very happy. The integration in the new office also gave a bigger motivation for the team. Both left their offices, which were more modest, for an icon building in Sao Paulo. It also gives the team another moment of happiness and motivation to work.

Completando 25 anos em 2019, a Intermodal South America chega para reafirmar seu posicionamento como ponto de encontro destes executivos que acreditam que dias melhores virão. Organizada agora pela Informa Exhibitions – que adquiriu em 2018 a UBM, promotora das últimas edições do evento –, o maior evento de logística, transporte de cargas e comércio exterior da América Latina espera receber 400 marcas e 33 mil profissionais.

“Para celebrar mais de duas décadas na liderança desse mercado, o evento passa a se posicionar como uma marca ainda mais ampla para o setor de infraestrutura e comércio exterior, com especial destaque para três segmentos: intralogística, tecnologia e transporte, que visam abranger todos os elos da cadeia logística”, afirma Márcia Gonçalves, gerente geral do portfólio de Infraestrutura da Informa Exhibitions.

No segmento de intralogística, a feira abre espaço para inovações, tecnologias, lançamentos de produtos e serviços para gestão e movimentação de cargas dentro de armazéns, unidades fabris e centros de distribuição. Já em tecnologia, a Intermodal reunirá os principais desenvolvedores e fornecedores dessas soluções, como tecnologia da informação, telemática, segurança, e-commerce e softwares e sistemas em geral.

he year 2019 began with a new federal government that brought with it the promise of more investments in the so weak Brazilian infrastructure. The announcement of investments in concessions and airport auctions, port and road railways, and gave many benefits for companies and infrastructure professionals who, in general, got excited about what may come ahead.

Completing 25 years in 2019, Intermodal South America is here to reaffirm its position as a meeting point for these executives who believe that better days will come. Organized by Informa Exhibitions (which acquired UBM, the promoter of the last editions of the event in 2018), the largest logistics, freight and foreign trade event in Latin America, it expects to receive 400 brands and 33 thousand professionals.

“To celebrate more than two decades of leadership of this market, the event will position itself as an even broader brand for the infrastructure and foreign trade sector, with special emphasis on three segments: Intralogistics, Technology and Transport, which aim to cover all the logistics chain”, says Márcia Gonçalves, General Manager of Informa Exhibitions’s Infrastructure Portfolio.

In the Intralogistics segment, the fair opens up space for innovations, technologies, product launches and services for managing and moving loads within warehouses, manufacturing units and distribution centers. In Technology, Intermodal will bring together the main developers and suppliers of these solutions, such as information technology, telematics, security, e-commerce and software and systems in general.

Lastly, in the Transport segment, the fair will receive the main companies of the road, rail, waterway and air modal, as well as companies specialized in logistics services in general, that will offer more efficiency and quality of delivery to the products.

Outra novidade será a realização da NT Expo (Negócios nos Trilhos) em paralelo à Intermodal, que trará aos profissionais do setor as últimas inovações do mercado de transporte sobre trilhos, de cargas e de passageiros. “A ideia foi usar a mesma data e espaço com o objetivo de otimizar as sinergias e compatibilizar a realização dos eventos com a agenda dos executivos do setor de cargas”, explica a diretora do evento.

Durante o evento está programada a Conferência NT Expo, com palestras sobre as inovações e os rumos do setor. Entre os temas abordados nos painéis, há questões governamentais e de financiamento, além do plano de negócios das ferrovias (de cargas e de passageiros) e de novas tecnologias do mercado.

e acordo com pesquisa realizada pela Associação Paulista de Supermercados (Apas), os empresários supermercadistas começaram 2019 acreditando no futuro. O índice de confiança foi o maior desde 2015, com 52% de otimismo. Dentre os tópicos que mensuram as perspectivas para o futuro, o que demonstra mais confiança do setor é a venda, com 90% dos supermercadistas otimistas com o crescimento. Este positivismo faz com que 50% dos empresários pensem em contratar mais funcionários em 2019.

Tamanha confiança estará refletida em mais uma edição da APAS Show, uma das maiores feiras supermercadistas do mundo, que acontece em maio. “A feira chega ampliada este ano. Nas últimas edições, ocupamos os quatro pavilhões do Expo Center Norte, o que nos dava 70 mil m². Para 2019, agregamos um quinto pavilhão, o que representará um incremento na ordem de 20%”, comenta Ronaldo dos Santos, presidente da Apas, realizadora do evento.

Neste ano a APAS Show terá como tema central “Super Hack – Hackeando o Supermercado”. Moderno e atual, o tema pretende estar alinhado às últimas tendências do setor, que assim como outros segmentos, atravessa a era da quarta revolução industrial. ccording to a survey conducted by the Paulista Supermarkets Association (APAS), supermarket entrepreneurs started 2019 believing in the future. The confidence index was the highest since 2015, with 52% optimism. Among the topics that measure prospects for the future, the most trusted in the industry are sales, with 90% of supermarkets optimistic about growth. This positivism makes 50% of entrepreneurs think of hiring more employees in 2019.

Such confidence will be reflected in another edition of the APAS Show, one of the largest supermarkets in the world, which takes place in May. “The trade fair is expanded this year. In recent years we occupied the 4 pavilions of Expo Center Norte, which gave us 70 thousand square meters. By 2019 we will add a fifth pavilion, which will represent a 20% increase”, comments Ronaldo dos Santos, president of APAS, the event’s organizer.

This year, the APAS Show will have “Super Hack – Hacking the Supermarket” as its central theme. resente em boa parte dos produtos manufaturados, o plástico tem grande importância para a economia.

A indústria de transformação de plástico é o quarto setor que mais emprega no país. A Feiplastic é a única feira que representa toda a cadeia produtiva do plástico, da matéria-prima à reciclagem. Também é a única com o apoio das principais associações do setor, como a Associação Brasileira da Indústria do Plástico (Abiplast), Associação Brasileira dos Distribuidores de Resinas Plásticas (Adirplast), Associação Brasileira dos Importadores de Máquinas e Equipamentos Industriais (Abimei), e Sindicato da Indústria de Resinas Plásticas (Siresp).

Na edição de 2017, o evento contou com mais de 56 mil visitantes de 30 países, mais de mil marcas expositoras e 46 horas de conteúdo, entre palestras, demonstrações e workshops.

Além disso, foram registradas cerca de 280 reuniões, que geraram mais de R$ 60 milhões em rodadas de negócio nacionais e internacionais.

Agora, em 2019, um dos principais pilares estratégicos da Feiplastic será a inovação. “É a partir desse conceito que iremos enaltecer o uso do plástico como a principal matéria-prima de outros produtos para suprir um mercado de alta tecnologia com consumidores mais exigentes e em busca de modelos de negócios mais sustentáveis” conta Patrícia Oliveira, gerente de Produto da Feiplastic.

A ideia é que, pela primeira vez, o participante tenha a oportunidade de vender sua solução ou produto para a indústria final. “Criamos um ciclo produtivo de oportunidades de negócios para os nossos visitantes, que poderão comprar insumos, matéria-prima, máquinas e, paralelamente, vender seus serviços, produtos e soluções RR para as indústrias finais”, finaliza Patrícia.

maginar uma sociedade sem meios de transportes é algo quase impossível, uma vez que os veículos fazem parte da realidade das pessoas. E eles estão em constante evolução. Já temos modelos recarregáveis, outros híbridos e testes estão sendo feitos com carros que andam sozinhos. Isso sem contar os designs que a cada ano são mais inovadores. Com tanta mudança, o setor de autopeças tem grande importância na economia e na geração de empregos.

De acordo com a pesquisa divulgada pelo Sindicato Nacional da Indústria de Componentes para Veículos Automotores (Sindipeças), o faturamento líquido nominal do setor em 2018 foi 17,4% superior ao de 2017. Outra prova do desenvolvimento são os eventos direcionados ao mercado, que a cada ano tem aumentado. O principal exemplo é a Automec, que chega a sua 14º edição como líder na América Latina para os setores de reposição e reparação para veículos leves, pesados e comerciais.

Neste ano, a programação da Automec começa mesmo antes da feira. Já no dia 22 de abril, acontecerá o 1º Encontro da Indústria de Autopeças, um evento exclusivo do Sindipeças, no qual será debatido pela primeira vez no Brasil a indústria de autopeça, com a presença de palestrantes brasileiros e estrangeiros. Serão discutidos temas como as indústrias mexicanas e argentinas e também haverá painéis que vão refletir sobre a visão de futuro para o segmento, a inserção competitiva e o cenário de PMEs e do mercado de reposição.

No encerramento do 1º Encontro da Indústria de Autopeças acontecerá a abertura da Feira Automec. São esperadas mais de 1,5 mil marcas nacionais e internacionais. “Isso significa um contato direto do visitante com lançamentos e produtos de nomes como Bosch, ZF Service, Nakata, Dana, Dayco, Fras-le, Magneti Marelli e Tecno-

Today, it is possible to use cars that drive alone, some models are rechargeable, hybrids, not mentioning the designs that has been innovated even more each year. With so much evolution, the autoparts industry has great importance in the economy and in the generation of employment.

According to the survey released by Sindipeças- National Union of the Automotive Vehicle Components Industry- The nominal net sales of the autoparts industry in 2018 was 17.4% higher than in 2017. Targeted events, that has increased each year, are a proof of the autoparts development. Examples are Automec - leader in Latin America for the Replacement and Repair sectors for light, heavy and commercial vehicles that is in its 14th edition.

Automec’s program begins before the fair on April 22nd, with the 1st Autoparts Industry Meeting, an exclusive event of Sindipeças, where the industry of autoparts will be debated for the first time in Brazil, with the presence of Brazilian and foreign speakers.

Topics such as the Mexican and Argentine autoparts industries will be discussed, as well as panels that provide a vision of the future, competitive insertion, the scenario of SMEs and the replacement market.

At the end of the 1st Autoparts Industry Meeting, the opening of the Automec Fair will take place. A planta será dividida em quatro grandes áreas. A primeira delas será a de Peças e Sistemas, que vai trazer eletrônicos, pneumáticos, resfriamento, iluminação, segurança, elétricos, produtos para vidro, rolamentos, funilaria, sistemas de freio, fundição, produtos químicos, climatização, peças e motores, cabos, forjados, interior, peças usinadas, sintetização, sistemas de direção, sistemas de suspensão, sistemas de transmissão, além de produtos de borracha. A segunda será preenchida por itens ligados à Reparação e Manutenção, com ferramentas, equipamentos, maquinários, teste e medição, aparelhos para diagnóstico, funilaria e pintura e elevadores.

Na terceira área estarão expostos os Acessórios, entre os quais pneus, tuning e customização, baterias, sistemas de performance, rodas, sistemas de som, acessórios em geral, sistemas de conectividade.

Por fim, estarão os Serviços E.T.I., ou seja, os bancos e financiamento, gerenciamento de frotas, eficiência energética, meios de pagamento, mobilidade, marketing para PDV, consultorias, sistemas de gestão.

A novidade deste ano fica por conta da estreia da Automec Experience, uma área de mais de um mil m² dentro e fora do centro de exposições com oficinas, atividades práticas e apresentações técnicas. Serão realizadas oficinas com curadoria do Sindicato da Indústria de Reparação de Veículos e Acessórios do Estado de São Paulo (Sindirepa), divididas em oficina de leves, de pesados, oficina do futuro, de personalização, de colisão e de motos.

Na parte de conteúdo técnico, a Automec Experience terá curadoria do Senai e da revista O Mecânico, além de participação do Simepetro, Abrafiltros, Instituto de Qualidade Automotiva (IQA) e do grupo Batistinha, integrando a teoria apresentada às oficinas programadas. televisão por assinatura brasileira está repleta de programas de reformas de casas que se localizam, principalmente, nos Estados Unidos. “Irmãos à obra” e “Ame ou Deixe-a” são apenas dois destes programas televisivos que revelam uma curiosidade da construção das casas norte-americanas. Grande parte delas tem como matéria-prima principal a madeira, utilizando a técnica da “Construção Civil Modular”. Este tipo de construção surgiu com mais força no período pós-guerra, sendo utilizada em vários países europeus na reconstrução das suas cidades.

“A construção modular é uma solução industrializada, praticamente toda moldada na fábrica, onde são criados perfis ou vigas que são conectados ainda em fábrica formando painéis. Ainda na fábrica recebem as instalações necessárias e são revestidos, formando um módulo que constitui uma divisão de ambiente.

Após esta fase, eles são transportados para um local da obra e encaixados uns aos outros para formar o tipo de construção projetada”, explica o arquiteto e urbanista Marcos Bueno.

No entanto, enquanto nos Estados Unidos ela é amplamente aplicada, no Brasil a técnica ainda é pouco utilizada. O mesmo acontece com os containers marítimos. A construção modular com a reutilização de container de carga pode atender a todos os gostos e públicos, dos mais populares aos mais refinados. O container marítimo também pode ser utilizado em outras funções tais como: estoque de materiais, almoxarifado, canteiros de obras, entre outros.

“Realizando pesquisas, descobrimos que existem empresas que já executam este tipo de construção, muito pouco difundi-

razilian pay television is full of house renovation programs that are mainly located in the United States.

“Property Brothers” and “Love It or List It” are just two of these television shows that show a curiosity about building homes in the North American market. Most of them have as their main raw material the wood, using the “Modular Civil Construction” technique. This type of construction emerged more strongly in the post-war period, being used in several European countries to rebuild their cities.

“Modular construction is an industrialized solution, practically all molded in the factory, where profiles or beams are created to be connected in the factory forming panels. Still in the factory are provided the necessary and coated facilities, forming a module that constitutes an environment division. After this phase they are transported to the work site, fitting in each other to form the type of construction that was designed,” explains the architect and urbanist Marcos Bueno.

However, while in the United States it is widely applied, in Brazil the technique is still little used. The same is true for shipping containers. Modular construction with the reuse of cargo container can meet all tastes and public, from the most popular to the most refined. The shipping container can also be used for other functions such as: stock of materials, warehouse, construction sites, in a wide variety of uses.

“Conducting research we found that there are companies that already perform this type of construction, very little spread in the market.

do no mercado. Vimos também que estas empresas constroem casas, lojas, estúdio de TV, entre outros, a partir da reutilização do container marítimo e também dos módulos construídos em suas fábricas”, comenta.

Foi ao observar este nicho que Bueno teve a ideia de realizar no Brasil a Expo Container City, que irá reunir, além do mercado de construções modulares, empresas de containers transformados. “Em fevereiro de 2018, conversando com uma das empresas parceiras que trabalha com transportes de container marítimo, surgiu a ideia de juntar todo mercado de construção modular em um só lugar. Teria que ser uma área externa para que todas as obras funcionassem em sua plenitude”, explica.

Isso porque a feira, que utilizará 12 mil m² do estacionamento do Expo Center Norte, não usará estandes convencionais, mas sim os containers.

“Os estandes atuais não deixam de ser construções modulares industrializadas, mas eles carregam alguns problemas, tais como a pouca reutilização de material, o desperdício e a elevada geração de resíduos após a montagem e desmontagem.

Surgiu, então, a ideia de usar container como estande pronto.

Desta forma, não teremos desperdício e o tempo de montagem será muito menor”, completa Bueno.

O evento contará com aproximadamente 50 expositores e espera um público de cerca de oito mil visitantes. Além da exposição, serão realizadas palestras e workshops direcionados a estes setores.

“A construção industrializada é uma tendência mundial e com a escassez de mão de obra e materiais, ela será uma necessidade para que as obras se tornem mais sustentáveis e tecnológicas, utilizando materiais recicláveis ou reutilizados, evitando o desperdício que ocorre hoje nas construções conRR vencionais”, finaliza.

It was observing this niche that Bueno had the idea of realizing in Brazil the Expo Container City, that will gather, besides the market of modular constructions, transformed containers companies. “In February 2018, talking to one of the partner companies working with shipping container transport, the idea was to join the entire modular construction market in one place.

It would have to be at an external area for all the works to function in their fullness,” he explains.

That’s because the fair, which will use 12,000 square meters of the Expo Center Norte parking lot, will not use conventional booths, but containers as booths.

“Today’s booths are still industrialized modular buildings, but they carry some problems such as poor reuse of material, too much waste, and generate a lot of residue after assembly and disassembly. Then we had the idea to use container as a prompt booth. This way we will not generate waste and the time of assembly will be much shorter,” completes Bueno.

The event will have approximately 50 exhibitors and expects an audience of about 8 thousand visitors. Besides the exhibition, lectures and workshops aimed at this sectors will be held.

“Industrialized construction is a worldwide trend and with shortages of manpower and materials, it will be a necessity for works to become more sustainable and technological, using recyclable or reused materials, avoiding the waste that occurs toRR day in conventional constructions,” he concludes.

Setor este que tem se recuperado de uma recente crise, como mostram os números da Associação Nacional dos Comerciantes de Material de Construção (Anamaco). No varejo, o crescimento em 2018 foi de 6,5% nas vendas em comparação com o mesmo período do ano anterior. Além disso, o segmento teve um faturamento recorde de R$ 122 bilhões. Para 2019, a projeção é de 8,5% de crescimento em relação a 2018. Também a Associação Brasileira da Indústria de Materiais de Construção (Abramat) confirma as previsões. Após três anos de queda no faturamento deflacionado, o segmento apresentou em 2018 crescimento de 1,2% em relação a 2017. Para este ano, a associação estima alta de 2% para o faturamento do setor em comparação com o ano passado.

Em 2017, a feira reuniu mais de 80 mil visitantes em 85 mil m² de espaço. Com o pavilhão totalmente setorizado e focado em experiências que contribuíram para o desenvolvimento do setor, o evento focou sua estratégia na geração de novos negócios. A 24ª Feicon Batimat contou com 700 expositores nacionais e internacionais, 66 horas de conteúdo programático, sendo 54 delas gratuitas, mais de R$ 27 milhões em negócios gerados nas rodadas de negócios e uma série de produtos e soluções inovadoras e sustentáveis que foram apresentadas aos visitantes.

Também na edição passada, houve uma mudança estratégica nos dias de realização e nos horários da feira. “Percebemos por meio das

A sector that had a recovery from a recent crisis, the numbers, both of ANAMACO and ABRAMAT, prove this positive scenario.

In retail, 2018 growth was 6.5% in sales, compared to the same period last year. In addition, the segment had a record turnover of BRL 122 billion. For 2019, the projection is 8.5% of growth compared to 2018. For ABRAMAT, an association that represents the construction materials industry, after three years of decline in deflated sales, the segment presented a growth of 1.2% in 2018 compared to 2017. For this year, the association estimates a growth of 2.0% for the sector’s sales compared to last year.

Last year, the fair gathered more than 80 thousand visitors in 85 thousand m² of exhibition. With the pavilion totally divided into sectors and focused on experiences that contributed to the sector development, the event focused its strategy on the generation of new businesses. The 24th Feicon Batimat had 700 national and international exhibitors, 66 hours of programmatic content - with 54 free hours, more than BRL 27 million in generated business, only in business rounds, and presented a series of innovative and sustainable products and solutions.

A grande novidade deste ano vai ficar por conta do projeto inédito Sua Casa em 24 horas, que contemplará a montagem de uma casa industrializada em apenas um dia, demonstrando a viabilidade desta solução para potencializar a produtividade no setor. A experiência será realizada pela Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado e Inovatech Engenharia, com a parceria da Atai Engenharia, Kronan Sistema Construtivo, Rubio & Luongo Arquitetura e Lean Institute Brasil. Paralelamente à construção da residência do Sua Casa em 24 horas, vão acontecer pequenas palestras destacando todas as etapas da construção industrializada.

O Brasil é um dos protagonistas no mercado mundial de revestimentos cerâmicos, ocupando a segunda posição em produção e consumo. De acordo com os últimos dados fornecidos pela Associação Nacional dos Fabricantes de Cerâmica para Revestimentos, Louças Sanitárias e Congêneres (Anfacer), só em 2017 foram produzidos 790 milhões de m² para uma capacidade instalada de 1.055 milhões de m².

Segundo o presidente da Expo Revestir e Superintendente da Anfacer, Antonio Carlos Kieling, as vendas totais atingiram 790 milhões de m², dos quais 685 milhões foram vendidos no mercado interno e 105 milhões de m² no externo. E a Expo Revestir é a responsável por boa parte do crescimento e desenvolvimento do setor. O evento é a maior vitrine de produtos com cerca de 40 mil m², distribuídos em sete pavilhões, para apresentar os lançamentos de mais de 250 marcas.

Brazil is one of the main players in the world ceramic tile market, occupying the second position in production and consumption. According to the latest data provided by ANFACER- National Association of Ceramic Manufacturers for Coatings, Sanitary Ware, and Similar in 2017, 790 million square meters were produced for an installed capacity of 1,055 million square meters.

According to the president of EXPO REVESTIR and Superintendent of Anfacer, Antonio Carlos Kieling, total sales reached 790 million square meters, of which 685 million were sold in the domestic market and 105 million square meters exported. Os dias 14 e 15 de março são momentos recomendados para quem busca conteúdos qualificados e inspiração com o que há de mais atual e relevante no mercado”, explica Kieling.

Além de todos os lançamentos a Expo Revestir também é referência em conteúdo, trazendo os principais profissionais do setor, possibilitando uma imersão nos temas mais importantes da atualidade com palestrantes internacionalmente reconhecidos.

O primeiro dia será dedicado aos revendedores, com o Fórum de líderes do varejo, da indústria e da construção civil. Depois, será o Dia do Construtor e, em seguida, o Dia do Designer de Interiores com conteúdos atualizados e dedicados a estes públicos. A feira se encerra com o Dia do Arquiteto e com o Fórum Tecnargila Brasil.

m abril, o Expo Center Norte se tornará novamente o ponto de encontro da indústria de viagens e turismo da América Latina com mais uma edição da World Travel Market Latin America (WTM LA). E o evento chega em sua sétima edição repleto de atrações. “Nosso business é gerar negócios e promover a indústria do turismo. Por isso, cada vez mais, nos empenhamos em criar ferramentas e desenvolver atividades que facilitem a interação”, afirma Luciane Leite, diretora da WTM LA. Visando estreitar ainda mais a conexão da WTM Latin America com os agentes de viagem, a organização do evento criou uma nova identidade visual para o programa que foi batizado com o nome “Agente na Estrada”. Por essa razão, para esta edição da feira, há outra grande novidade em relação este público: a obrigatoriedade de compromissos e reuniões com as operadoras.

“A ideia é que o participante do programa ‘Agente na Estrada’ tenha uma agenda já pré-definida de atividades e encontros dentro da WTM Latin America. n April Expo Center Norte will once again become the meeting point of the Latin American travel and tourism industry with another edition of World Travel Market Latin America (WTM LA). And the event arrives in its 7th edition full of attractions. “Our business is to generate business and promote the tourism industry. That is why, increasingly, we are striving to create tools and develop activities that facilitate interaction,” says Luciane Leite, director of WTM LA. Aiming to further narrow the connection of WTM Latin America with travel agents, the organization of the event created a new visual identity for the program that was christened “Agent on the Road.”

The great news announced by WTM Latin America for the next edition, with regard to this public, is the obligation of appointments and meetings with the operators.

“The idea here is that Agent on the Road participant has a pre-defined agenda of activities and encounters within WTM Latin America.

To this end, the agents who are with us in this edition and who come through the partnership with Interamerican Network, responsible for receiving the entries and aligning the profile of the agent with the interests of our exhibitors, will have a goal of commitments and meetings to be developed and within the event,” Leite points out.

Mulheres no Turismo Sucesso nas edições da WTM London e WTM Africa, o programa Women in Travel (Mulheres no Turismo) chega à WTM LA, em 2019, com o objetivo central de orientar profissionais mulheres que atuam no mercado a como investirem em suas carreiras e empreenderem por meio de conteúdo e mentoria personalizada.

O projeto, conduzido por Alessandra Alonso, fundadora da empresa social homônima, empodera mulheres e as auxilia no desenvolvimento de estratégias e atuações mais contundentes na indústria global de viagens, turismo e hospitalidade. No Brasil, Alessandra conta com o apoio e curadoria de Mariana Aldrigui, professora e pesquisadora de Turismo na Universidade de São Paulo (USP) e membro do Advisory Board, da WTM Latin America.

“Nesta primeira realização do programa, o Women in Travel terá duração de três horas, dividido em um painel de capacitação, mentoria e coquetel. Vale ressaltar que, para participar do painel e do coquetel, não é necessária a inscrição prévia. Contudo, para o programa de mentoria, a inscrição é obrigatória no site da WTM Latin America”, diz Luciane Leite.

O estudo “Infraestrutura e Regulação”, da série Panorama Brasil, realizado, em 2018, pela consultoria Oliver Wyman, aponta que o Brasil investiu, entre 2011 e 2016, em média 2,2% do PIB ao ano em programas de infraestrutura. Seria necessário quase dobrar o valor e investir 4% por 25 anos para que o país chegasse a níveis universalizados de qualidade de serviços.

As principais carências estão centradas na falta de ferrovias e hidrovias. O estudo aponta ainda que “criar um ambiente de negócios favorável ao investimento privado e que estimule a alocação eficiente de recursos é o caminho para gerar um fluxo crescente de recursos para o desenvolvimento sustentável do setor”.

The study “Infrastructure and Regulation” of the Panorama Brasil series, conducted by Oliver Wyman consulting firm in 2018, shows that Brazil invested an average of 2.2% of GDP per year in infrastructure programs between 2011 and 2016. It would be necessary to almost double the value, to 4%, for 25 years, so that the country reached universalized levels of quality of services. The main deficiencies are centered on the lack of railways and waterways. The study also points out that “Creating a business environment conducive to private investment and stimulating efficient resource allocation is the way to generate an increasing flow of resources for the sustainable development of the sector.”

O embrião da atual Bauma nasceu em 1949, na cidade de Würzburg, na região da Francônia, ao norte do estado da Baviera, pelas mãos de Karl Rudolf Schulte, com o nome de 1.

The embryo of the current Bauma was born in 1949, in the city Würzburg – Franconia region, north of the State of Bavaria –, under the name 1. Fränkische Bauausstellung (1st Franconian Construction Exhibition), created by Karl Rudolf Schulte. In 1953 Schulte moved to Munich and in 1954 he organized the “Frühjahrsschau für Baumaschinen” (Spring Hall for Construction Machinery), an event that drew about 8,000 visitors. Atualmente, o evento agrega os setores de construção, mineração, obtenção e processamento de matérias-primas, produção de materiais de construção, fornecedores de componentes e serviços e muito mais.

De 1954 para cá, nem é preciso dizer que muita coisa mudou. A começar pela metragem do evento que hoje ocupa uma área quase 31 vezes maior do que aquele realizado em Munique. Os 20 mil m² iniciais serão 614 mil m² em 2019 com a utilização de dois novos pavilhões (C5 e C6). Com esse acréscimo e um planejamento de layout otimizado das áreas externas, a Bauma cresceu e se reorganizou. “Além de aumentar o espaço da exposição, também otimizamos a estrutura do conteúdo para que os visitantes possam conhecer melhor a feira”, aponta Mareile Kästner, diretora da Bauma.

Kästner tem dedicado seis de seus quinze anos de Messe München para o desenvolvimento da feira, que é trienal. Cabe a ela comandar a megaoperação para colocar a Bauma de pé. A preparação começa dentro da equipe de gerenciamento de projetos, que conta com oito pessoas, e é continuamente acompanhada por cerca de cinco colegas das áreas de marketing e comunicação. À medida que o projeto avança, mais equipes se envolvem, como a de serviço técnico de expositores (cerca de 40 pessoas) e a de trânsito e segurança (cerca de dez pessoas). Há também muitos departamentos transversais encarregados de tarefas importantes, como prestadores de

There are also many cross-functional departments in charge of important tasks, such as trade show providers, podcast/broadcast and accounting staff. “The team is getting bigger and bigger and supported by several service partners. The number of direct and indirect participants is in the four-digit range,” she adds.

Para estar com tudo pronto até a inauguração da feira, os grandes players iniciaram a montagem de seus espaços em novembro de 2018. Já a desmontagem segue até o início de maio, cerca de um mês depois da realização da feira. Na última Bauma, realizada em 2016, um total de três mil toneladas de resíduos foi eliminado e reciclado por meio de uma parceria com a empresa Remondis.

O número de visitantes também é superlativo. Nada menos que 583.736 visitantes de 219 países estiveram presentes na edição anterior. Apesar disso, chegar até a Bauma não é um problema. Munique conta com uma infraestrutura de transporte muito distante da realidade brasileira, com ligações por meio de avião, carro, trem e transporte público. O Centro de Convenções no qual o evento é realizado está conectado diretamente a duas estações de metrô: Messestadt West e Messestadt Ost. Novidades Além de uma nova setorização, a feira apresenta para 2019 o Bauma Plus com o intuito de trazer ainda mais expositores para o evento. “Esta é a nossa resposta à enorme demanda de expositores. Com este novo conceito de participação, estamos criando possibilidades de exposição adicional que vai além do espaço clássico. Com o Plus OnSite, os expositores

Não é apenas uma oportunidade para as empresas que participam desta área, mas também para os visitantes ao permitir que eles tenham uma visão mais abrangente das companhias do setor”, explica a diretora da Bauma. “Outra novidade é a Selfie Tower, de onde você pode ter uma vista incrível de toda a feira”, conta.

Outra novidade é a escolha do Canadá como o país parceiro do evento. O acordo de livre comércio CETA, assinado recentemente entre o Canadá e a União Europeia, abriu diversas oportunidades para empresas e investidores dos países que o compõem. Além de uma delegação canadense visitar a Bauma, também será montado um Pavilhão do Canadá.

Pelo lado dos expositores, inúmeras tendências serão apresentadas. Os visitantes verão que, atualmente, as máquinas de construção podem ser equipadas com diversos sensores e interfaces de comunicação. Os dados coletados podem ser usados, por exemplo, para verificar o desempenho, o consumo e a localização do trabalho e para definir intervalos de manutenção e custos operacionais. Frotas inteiras de veículos podem ser gerenciadas usando telemática. As ferramentas digitais também facilitam os esforços para automatizar os processos de trabalho, um fator cada vez mais importante à luz da escassez de trabalhadores qualificados que a indústria da construção enfrenta.

Na Bauma 2019, os visitantes poderão ainda experimentar a área de construção digital com a ajuda da realidade virtual e aumentada. “Pela primeira vez, as empresas podem até se apresentar de forma totalmente digital. A experiência de realidade virtual (VR, na sigla em inglês) não é apenas um acontecimento especial, mas também oferece um alto valor agregado para os negócios do dia-a-dia”, diz Kästner. De acordo com a diretora, por meio da VR novas oportunidades estão disponíveis nas áreas de planejamento e desenvolvimento e também para treinamento e vendas. “Qualquer pessoa que queira treinar seus aprendizes em condições realistas, como na manutenção de máquinas, ou explicar o funcionamento interno de um guindaste ao cliente, não precisa mais sair do local”, completa.

To get everything ready until the opening of the fair, the great players began to assemble their spaces in November 2018. As for the disassembly of the fair – which takes place between April 8 and 14 - it continues until the beginning of May 2019. At the last Bauma a total of about 3,000 tonnes of waste were disposed of and recycled through a partnership with the company “Remondis”.

The number of visitors is also superlative. No fewer than 583,736 visitors out of 219 attended the 2016 edition of the triennial event. Getting to Bauma is not a problem. On the exhibitors’ side, numerous trends will be presented. Visitors will see that, today, construction machines can be equipped with multiple sensors and communication interfaces. Collected data can be used, for example, to check performance, consumption, and job location, and to define maintenance intervals and operating costs. Entire fleets of vehicles can be managed using telematics. Digital tools also facilitate efforts to automate work processes, an increasingly important factor in light of the shortage of skilled workers faced by the construction industry.

At Bauma 2019, visitors will also be able to experience the digital building area with the help of virtual and augmented reality.

“For the first time, companies can even present themselves fully digital. The VR experience is not only a special event but also offers a high added value for everyday business, “says Kästner. According to the director of the fair, with Virtual Reality new opportunities are available in the areas of planning and development, but also for training, and sales. “Anyone wishing to train their apprentices in realistic conditions - for example, in the maintenance of machinery - or trying to explain the inner workings of a crane to a customer, no longer has to leave the site,” she adds.

egundo o dicionário etimológico (www.dicionarioetimologico.com.br), a palavra tragédia vem do grego tragoedia, sendo tragos, bode, e oidé, ode, canção. Ou seja; tragédia é a canção do bode! Na Grécia antiga, quando se celebravam heróis e deuses como Dionísio, antes da costumeira representação de peças de autores famosos, exibiam-se cantores que usavam os pés de cabra ou bode, tal como imaginavam que fossem as divindades que habitavam os bosques.

Nessas cerimônias em honra ao deus, além das vestimentas de aspecto caprino, o canto era acompanhado pelo sacrifício de um bode.

Mas por que isso? Porque como o bode devastava as videiras, seria também inimigo de Dionísio, o deus grego do vinho, e, por conseguinte, deveria ser sacrificado.

Entre nós, modernos, a palavra tragédia tornou-se uma aplicação costumeira para designar um acontecimento doloroso, catastrófico, acompanhado de muitas vítimas. Assistimos a uma delas há poucas semanas, em Brumadinho (MG), em consequência do rompimento de uma barragem.

That is; tragedy is the goat song! In ancient Greece, when heroes and gods like Dionysius were celebrated, before the usual depiction of plays by famous authors, singers wearing goat or goat's feet were shown, just as they imagined the deities who inhabited the woods were. In these ceremonies in honor of the god, besides the vestments of goat aspect, the song was accompanied by the sacrifice of a goat.

But why that? For as the goat devastated the vines, it would also be an enemy of Dionysius, the Greek god of wine, and therefore ought to be sacrificed.

Among us moderns, the word tragedy has become a customary application to designate a painful, catastrophic event accompanied by many victims.”

We witnessed a few weeks ago a tragedy in Brumadinho, MG, due to the rupture of a dam.

Segundo estudiosos de análise de riscos, boa parte das tragédias como a que assistimos há pouco, vêm da falta de planejamento, da falta de cuidado, da falta de manutenção, da desculpa da falta de recursos, da falta de pessoas qualificadas, da falta de punição quando ocorrem e, acima de tudo, da falta de respeito com as pessoas e, principalmente, da falta de vergonha dos que deveriam cumprir seu dever e não cumprem.

Sempre que tragédias ocorrem sobram explicações e falta vergonha a quem deveria assumir total responsabilidade pelas vidas perdidas que não voltam mais, pelos danos ambientais irreversíveis, pela história representada em patrimônios devastados tanto das pessoas quanto históricos de uma nação. É sempre assim.

Whenever tragedies occur there are a lot of explanations and no shame from those who should take full responsibility for the lost lives that will not return; irreversible environmental damage; by the history represented in devastated patrimonies of both the people and historical of a nation. FEIRA DE NEGÓCIOS TEM QUE SER DE GRAÇA? DOES THE BUSINESS FAIR HAVE TO BE FOR FREE?

C

alma! Não estou propondo a disrupção total do setor, mas gostaria de fazer uma provocação. No nosso setor de eventos em especial na área de Feiras de Negócios existe um paradigma. A inscrição dos visitantes em 95% das feiras é gratuita. Ou seja, cada visitante interessado no respectivo setor da feira disponibiliza os seus dados pessoais em troca do acesso ao evento.

São as empresas interessadas em conversar com esta audiência que pagam pela utilização dos seus espaços e, em ultima instância, viabilizam a realização do evento. Sempre foi assim! Este é o modelo de negócio deste setor.

Minha provocação é a seguinte: Hoje existem empresas totalmente baseadas neste formato “gratuito” (pense no Google) ou “subsidiado” (pense na Netflix), mas, diferentemente das empresas do setor de Feiras de Negócio, estas empresas que citei são especialistas em obter as suas receitas por meio de outras fontes (advertising, behavioural marketing etc.). Não conheço nenhuma promotora ou organizadora de feiras de negócio ou eventos aqui no Brasil que esteja obtendo receitas por meio dos dados fornecidos pelos visitantes. Não temos a infraestrutura nem a estratégia para agir assim, pelo menos até agora! Existe uma frase do Tim Cook, presidente da Apple, que traduz bem esta situação: “If the service is free; you are not the customer, but the product” (“Se o serviço é gratuito, você não é

alm down! I am not proposing the total disruption of the sector, but I would like to make a provocation. In our sector of events especially in the area of Trade Fairs there is a paradigm. The registration of visitors in 95% of the fairs is free. That is, each visitor interested in the respective section of the Business Fair offers their personal data in exchange for access to the event. It is the companies interested in talking to this audience that pay for the use of their spaces, and ultimately make the Fair feasible. It has always been like that! This is the business model of this sector...

My provocation is as follows: Today there are companies totally based on this “free” format (think of GOOGLE) or “subsidized” (think of NETFLIX) but unlike companies in the sector of Business Fairs, these companies that I mentioned, among others are specialists in obtaining their revenues through from other sources (advertising, behavioral marketing, etc.) I do not know any promoters or organizers of trade fairs or events here in Brazil that are getting revenue through the data provided by visitors. We do not have the infrastructure or strategy to do so (Well, at least, so far...!). But there is a quote from Tim Cook, President of Apple who translates well this situation: “If the service is free; you are not the customer, but the product” .... In other words, for him free service providers use their users to leverage their own businesses. In our industry

Promotores de feiras só deixarão entrar nos pavilhões as pessoas que comprarem uma credencial de acesso? Em vários eventos na Alemanha esta já é uma prática comum.

Estaremos nós aqui no Brasil atrasados em relação a esta estratégia?

Existem pessimistas de plantão sempre. Neste caso do gratuito versus pago, Shoshana Zuboff, professora da Harvard Business School, talvez seja a mais alarmista de todas. Seu último livro “The Age of Surveillance Capitalism” (“A Era do Capitalismo de Vigilância”, em tradução livre) é uma leitura interessante, mas nada conclusiva.

Mas para nós que atuamos no setor de Live Marketing aqui no Brasil, qual é a estratégia mais relevante: 100% pago, 100% gratuito, um misto entre as duas? Eu particularmente acredito que se fizermos eventos que tenham relevância para as audiências estareRR mos no caminho certo, afinal... É a era da relevância!

There are always pessimists on duty. In this case of free versus paid Harvard Business School Professor Shoshana Zuboff is perhaps the most alarmist of all. His latest book “The Age of Surveillance Capitalism” is an interesting but not conclusive reading.

But for us who work in the field of Live Marketing here in Brazil, what is the most relevant strategy? 100% paid? 100% free?

Mixed? I particularly believe that if we make events that have relevance to the audience we will be on the right track, after all...

Em 2019, buscaremos incluir novos itens em nossos eventos para evoluirmos de acordo com as tendências do setor. Desta maneira, iremos de encontro aos requisitos demandados por nossos participantes.

Um dos principais pontos que todo organizador de eventos deve entender é o novo conceito de marketing digital. Depois de uma década de mídias sociais e tecnologia celular, o marketing digital deve ser visto como uma nova realidade em nossa indústria e entendido como mais um ativo entre todos os elementos a serem levados em conta ao criar um evento. s a truly global association, UFI has established itself as one of the Industry Associations that generates quite a number of regional and global events each. We understand that giving our industry members opportunities for networking, education, visibility, branding and empowerment is one of the greatest benefits we provide.

In 2019 we will seek to include new benefits to our events and thus evolve according to industry trends and especially to the requirements of the attendees: One of the main points that every event organizer must understand is the new concept of digital marketing. After a decade of social media and cellular technology, digital marketing must be seen o as a new reality in our industry and understood as one more asset among all the elements to take into account when creating an event. This can be perceived in the floorplan of an exhibition, in the marketing campaign of the events, in the experience of the final consumer, among others.

Likewise, attendees must vibrate with the event and through their experiences in it. It is more likely that interesting experiences will be shared in social networks and remain in the minds and hearts of attendee’s vs them having a traditional participation which may be forgotten easily. The interaction will not only be digital but also physical, through workshops and new forms of participation for the attendees. One of these is the “brain

Isso é imprescindível de ser feito em 2019, pois garantirá um público mais satisfeito de acordo com os requisitos do setor e interesses personalizados.

Fazer um mix de negócios com lazer (bleisure) é outra meta para os organizadores. Esta ação significa combinar negócios com prazer, oferecendo mais diversão para os participantes, salas VIP, bares, música ao vivo, entre outros.

Garantir a segurança virtual é outro desafio importante, já que os eventos se tornam uma boa fonte de dados e, portanto, um alvo interessante para os ladrões cibernéticos.

Um componente final a ser incorporado é a sustentabilidade, compreendida desde o planejamento até a execução do evento (catering, reciclagem, tipologia de materiais usados, compostagem de resíduos e assim por diante).

Esta é uma pequena lista dos principais desafios para os organizadores de eventos. Na UFI, assumimos este desafio com grande entusiasmo e procuramos incluir esses aspectos em nossos eventos de 2019.

A América Latina não é uma exceção e, depois de nossa muito bem-sucedida primeira Conferência Latino-Americana na Cidade do México há alguns meses, já estamos preparando a próxima conferência para a América Latina na primavera de 2020. Guaranteeing the virtual security of the event is another important challenge since events become a very good source of data and therefore an interesting target for cyber thieves.

A final component to incorporate is sustainability, understood from the planning to the execution of the event (catering, recycling, typology of used materials and waste composting and so on).

This is a small account of the main challenges for event organizers. At UFI we assume this challenge with great enthusiasm and we seek to include these aspects in our 2019 events.

Latin America is not an exception, and after our very successful first Latin America Conference in Mexico City a few months ago, we have produce the next conference for Latin America in spring of 2020. The details of the event will be announced in the first semester of this year.

In parallel, UFI is always “glocal” – bringing global insights into the regions. , We will be present in the region by having our Regional Manager as a speaker or attendee in the major events RR of the region.

D

esde 1982 que os planetas Saturno e Plutão não se “encontram” em uma mesma longitude celeste ou, como se diz em Astrologia, uma conjunção!

De outubro de 1981 até outubro de 1983 estiveram em conjunção, marcando o início de um ciclo que se concluiu em 2018. De janeiro de 2019 até dezembro de 2020 novamente eles estarão em conjunção e, portanto, iniciando mais um ciclo.

Os ciclos astrológicos, quando aplicados às análises econômicas, marcam, no tempo, relevantes viradas. Em 1981, o Brasil viveu um “fundo do poço” em termos de produção industrial e na economia como um todo.

No ano seguinte, aconteceram também as primeiras eleições diretas para governadores dos estados, permitindo a ascensão de civis a este cargo.

Olhando por esta ótica, fica mais fácil entender o momento que o Brasil está vivendo, com um novo governo, no qual o número de militares é bem grande e o rumo da economia muda de direção.

Saturno está associado a estruturação e Plutão à transformação. Por isso, o ciclo destes planetas traz mudanças tão radicais, tão fortes e que mexem profundamente com as pessoas. É um tempo de provações e de eliminação daquilo que não está funcionando.

O ciclo completo tem 36 anos, portanto, cada fase dura nove anos e cada subfase dura quatro anos e meio. Assim, a subfase final deste ciclo aconteceu de meados de 2013 até o final de 2018, pondo fim a um direcionamento que havia se estabelecido desde 1982. Esses momentos finais do ciclo são historicamente períodos difíceis para a economia e, de certa forma, para as pessoas em geral.

Em contrapartida, o início destes ciclos é evidenciado por uma significativa melhora na economia como um todo, com um processo de reestruturação que logo traz resultados concretos, no âmbito da infraestrutura, da indústria de base e da construção civil, ou seja, dos pilares da economia e do emprego.

Plutão é especialmente associado às riquezas do subsolo, de forma que os setores ligados à mineração e ao petróleo estarão em alta neste início de novo ciclo, desde 2019. Essa mesma onda de crescimento será observada nas Bolsas de Valores, pois os reflexos de uma nova economia RR se farão presentes.

Astrological cycles, when applied to economic analyzes, mark, in time, relevant turning points.

In 1981 Brazil lived a “bottom of the pit” in terms of industrial production and the economy as a whole. It was also the end of the military regime, initiating a cycle of civilians elected to the Presidency of the Republic.

Looking at this perspective, it is easier to understand the moment that Brazil is living, with a new government, in which the number of military personnel is very large and where the direction of the economy changes direction.

Saturn is associated with structuring and Pluto to transformation.

Therefore, the cycle of these planets brings changes so radical, so strong and that deeply touches people. It is a time of trials and elimination of what is not working.

The complete cycle is 36 years, so each phase lasts 9 years and each subphase lasts 4.5 years. Thus, the final subphase of this cycle happened from mid-2013 until the end of 2018, ending a direction that had been established since 1982. These final moments of the cycle are historically difficult times for the economy and, in a way, for people in general. On the other hand, the beginning of these cycles is evidenced by a significant improvement in the economy as a whole, with a restructuring process that soon brings concrete results, in terms of infrastructure, basic industry and civil construction, i.e. the pillars of economy and employment.

Pluto is especially associated with the riches of the subsoil, so that the sectors related to mining and oil will be on the rise at this beginning of the new cycle, since 2019.

The same wave of growth will be observed in the Stock Exchanges, as RR the reflexes of a new economy will be present.

Carnaval chegando Carnival is coming Para entrar no clima do Carnaval, uma das datas mais festivas do nosso calendário, o Shopping Center Norte traz o “Bloquinho Center Norte”. A atração acontecerá nos dias 16, 17 e 23 de fevereiro, das 10h às 14h, em uma área reservada do estacionamento, e será totalmente gratuita.

No dia 16 de fevereiro, o bloco Gente Miúda, que traz músicas do passado preservando os arranjos das gravações originais, será a principal atração. No dia 17, o bloco do Beatles apresenta um vasto repertório de canções do famoso quarteto de Liverpool tocadas em forma de marchinhas de carnaval. Já no dia 23, o Center Norte recebe o Urubuzinho, um bloco formado por um grupo de amigos da Zona Norte que regata os tradicionais carnavais de São Paulo, com as mais conhecidas marchinhas. Para colocar ainda mais confete e serpentina nessa diversão, neste ano o Center Norte contará também com a presença da bateria feminina da tradicional escola de samba Águia de Ouro, que fará sua apresentação no dia 23 de fevereiro e promete trazer muito samba enredo para os foliões. A festa contará com atrações destinadas às crianças, mas os papais e as mamães também serão convidados para pular, brincar e se divertir.
