Inaugurado em 1993, com pouco mais de 30 mil m², o Expo Center Norte (ECN) praticamente dobrou sua capacidade ao realizar sua primeira expansão, em 2005.

Em 2009, com a construção do centro de convenções, que se juntou aos cinco pavilhões de exposições já existentes, o empreendimento chegou aos seus 98 mil m² atuais.

Por mais que tenha no horizonte uma nova expansão, o aluguel de m² não é mais o único foco do espaço de exposições localizado na Zona Norte de São Paulo. De olho nas movimentações do setor, Paulo Ventura, diretorsuperintendente do ECN, tem planos mais ambiciosos para o pavilhão e centro de convenções.

Um deles, e talvez o principal, é o Núcleo de Eventos de Operações Negociadas (NEON), que aproximará mais o Expo Center Norte do promotor de feiras e eventos para entregar soluções mais completas. Ventura conversou com a Radar Magazine e adiantou quais as principais mudanças que pavimentarão o caminho do Expo Center Norte para mais 25 anos de sucesso.

Launched in 1993, with a little more than 30 thousand square meters, Expo Center Norte (ECN) practically doubled its capacity when it realized its first expansion, in 2005. In 2009, with the construction of the Convention Center next to the 5 exhibition halls, the ECN reached its current 98 thousand square meters.

Although it has on the horizon a new expansion, the rent of square meter is not only the focus of the exhibition space located in the North Zone of São Paulo. Keeping an eye on the sector’s moves, the ECN Superintendent Director Paulo Ventura has more ambitious plans for the pavilion and for the convention center.

One of them, and perhaps the main one, is the NEON (The Negotiated Operations Center), which will bring Expo Center Norte closer to the fair and events promoter to deliver more complete solutions. Ventura talked to Radar Magazine and told us in first hand the major changes that will pave the way for Expo Center Norte for another 25 years of success.

O Expo Center Norte completa 25 anos em 2018.

Como você descreveria o papel do ECN no desenvolvimento das feiras de negócios em São Paulo ao longo destas mais de duas décadas?

A história dos promotores de feiras como conhecemos hoje se confunde com a do Expo Center Norte. O mercado de feiras em São Paulo chegou a este ponto de desenvolvimento graças ao ECN e ao Anhembi – ambos contribuíram com grande intensidade. Mas nossa colaboração não foi somente para o crescimento dos promotores de feiras, nós também proporcionamos a criação de novos eventos. Se surgiram outros equipamentos para ocupar novos espaços da cidade, eles vieram em função do próprio sucesso do ECN e do Anhembi. Completar 25 anos, com todo este histórico, é um grande orgulho.

Você já faz parte de seis anos desta longa trajetória, dos quais os últimos três como diretor superintendente...

Inicialmente foram dois anos e oito meses com o Sérgio Pasqualin, ex-diretor do ECN, aprendendo e entendendo sobre este negócio. O Sérgio me dizia uma expressão que carrego até hoje: “Você terá que deixar passar as quatro estações para dizer que começou a entender alguma coisa”. Isso porque as feiras costumam ser anuais. A APAS Show [feira da Associação Paulista de Supermercados], por exemplo, aconteceu em maio de 2018 e sua próxima edição só será em maio de 2019.

Então o que você viu só poderá ser comparado quando ocorrer edição seguinte. Foi quando o Sérgio se desligou, em agosto de 2015, que começou minha jornada como diretor-superintendente.

E qual o balanço que você faz da sua gestão neste período?

O mercado iniciava uma grande mudança quando eu assumi. Em 2016, teve a entrada do São Paulo Expo, um concorrente de grande porte, que passou a dividir o mercado das grandes feiras conosco e com o Anhembi. Tivemos que nos adaptar a uma nova realidade e entendemos que não seria o “preço” o que faria com que ganhássemos o jogo. Entendemos as necessidades do promotor, que via a demanda por estandes diminuir, e trabalhamos junto com ele. Não mexemos no valor de m² e tentamos facili-

Expo Center Norte completes 25 years in 2018. How would you describe the role of ECN in the development of business fairs in São Paulo during these two decades?

The history of the promoters of fairs as we know them today is confused with the one of Expo Center Norte. The market of fairs in São Paulo reached this point of development thanks to ECN and Anhembi. Both contributed with great intensity. But we do not only collaborate for the growth of the promoters of fairs, we also provide the creation of new events. Then, if other equipment appeared to occupy new spaces of the city, they came due to the very success of ECN and Anhembi. To complete 25 years, with all this history, is a great pride.

From this long trajectory, you have been part of ECN for 6 years, three as Superintendent Director...

Initially it was two years and eight months with Sérgio Pasqualin (former director of ECN), learning and understanding this business.

Sérgio used to tell me something that I still use until today: “you have to wait the four seasons to start understanding something”.

That’s because APAS, for example, took place in May of 2018 and the next edition will only happen in May of 2019. So what you saw, can only be compared when you start the next issue. Sérgio left in August of 2015 and then my journey began.

And what balance did you make of your management in this period?

The market was starting a big change when I took over. In 2016 there was the entrance of São Paulo Expo, a large competitor, who started to share the big market with us and Anhembi. We had to adapt to a new reality and we understood that “price” would not cause us to win the game. We understand the needs of the promoter, who saw the demand of stands decrease, and we worked together with him. We did not move the value of the square meter and we tried to make it easier for the promoters to have no difficulties, improving our structure.

What were the structural changes?

We made the energy substation that gave a sensational energy guarantee for all the events, extinguishing the necessity of the contracting of generators. It provided, besides a cost of energy more in account, a great stability of delivery. In the last three years we have not had any blackouts. Another novelty was the introduction of the snacks area, which after some difficulties in the beginning,

tar ao máximo para que os promotores não tivessem dificuldades, melhorando nossa estrutura.

Quais foram as mudanças estruturais?

Fizemos uma subestação de energia, o que deu uma garantia energética sensacional para todos os eventos, extinguindo a necessidade da contratação de geradores. Isso proporcionou, além de um custo mais baixo de energia, uma grande estabilidade de entrega. Outra novidade foi a introdução da área de alimentação que, após algumas dificuldades no início, está cada vez melhor. Também estamos mexendo no pavilhão amarelo, que contará com uma nova fachada e uma área de credenciamento. Também colocaremos uma estrutura auxiliar no teto do pavilhão azul, que se tornará uma arena multiuso, sendo possível abrigar shows e outros tipos de eventos. Foram muitas mudanças.

Também houve mudanças no centro de convenções?

Estamos separando a área de convenções do pavilhão. Inicialmente, colocamos duas escadas rolantes na frente da entrada do ECN e, agora, está em fase de construção uma área de credenciamento específica para ele. Com isso, além de dar vazão na área de convenção, dividiremos o que é público do pavilhão e do centro de convenções.

Falando sobre a operação do centro de convenções, quais os resultados que vocês têm obtido?

Até cerca de três anos atrás, a receita total do centro de convenções tinha a seguinte divisão: 90% de feiras com RR

convenções e 10% de negócios de convenção puro. Hoje, 50% desta receita ainda vem das feiras, mas os outros 50% já são de eventos que usam apenas a área de convenções. Fora isso, subimos a receita em quase 28% nos últimos três anos. Conseguimos isso por meio da criação de uma equipe comercial direcionada à captação de eventos, mudando a postura de reativa para ativa.

Como está o projeto de expansão e construção de um novo pavilhão?

Desde 2013, aguardamos a aprovação da prefeitura para autorizar a construção de nossa expansão. Finalmente, estamos quase lá e iniciaremos a construção do edifício-garagem. Só que neste meio tempo, tivemos a procura da ABCasa, que deseja abrir um novo segmento dentro de seu evento. Acontece que eles já utilizam 100% do ECN. A proposta da ABCasa foi erguer uma tenda provisória na área que temos destinada à expansão. Com isso em mente, decidimos montar um piso de pavilhão de 20 mil m², com toda a infraestrutura necessária para receber eventos outdoor.

As feiras atravessam um momento de digitalização e o centro de exposição é um pilar fundamental nesse processo.

Como o ECN está trabalhando a questão da conectividade?

Até o final do ano, teremos uma infraestrutura potente no Expo Center Norte. Estamos em contato com uma grande operadora que será a responsável por colocar tudo de pé. Nós, por sua vez, seremos os responsáveis pela comercialização. É um processo complexo, mas que no final refletirá em uma bela estrutura, com separação de banda para expositor, promotor e visitante. Além de beneficiar nossos clientes, a conectividade abre uma oportunidade digital de serviços para o ECN. Eu posso ter m² digital, e-commerce, feira permanente, realidade virtual etc. Em nosso setor, só vender espaço por m² não funciona mais. Temos que buscar novas soluções para continuar existindo.

Outra novidade é o Núcleo de Eventos de Operações Negociadas (NEON). Como ele funciona?

Antes é preciso entender o que acontece entre nós e os promotores. Hoje, o meu cliente aluga o pavilhão

We will also put an auxiliary structure in the ceiling of the blue pavilion, that will become a multipurpose Arena, being possible to do shows and other types of events. There were a lot of changes.

Were there changes in the Convention Center as well?

We are separating the convention area from the pavilion space.

Initially we placed two escalators in front of the entrance of the ECN and it is in the construction phase for a specific accreditation area for it. With this, in addition to create a flow in the area of convention, we will divide what is public of the pavilion and the convention center.

Speaking of the operation of the convention center, what are the results?

Until about three years ago, our total revenue from the convention center had the following division: 90% came from trade fairs with conventions and 10% of pure convention deals. Today 50% of this revenue still comes from fairs, but the other 50% are already from events that use only the convention area. In addition to it, we’ve raised revenue by almost 28% over the last three years. We achieved this through the creation of a commercial team aimed at capturing events, changing the posture from reactive to active.

How is the project to expand and build a new pavilion?

Since 2013 we have been waiting for the approval of the city hall to authorize the construction of our expansion. Finally we are almost there and we will first start building the garage building.

And in the meantime we had the idea coming from ABCasa, who wants to open a new segment within your event. It turns out that they already use 100% of ECN. The proposal of ABCasa was to get a provisional tent in the area that we are destined to expand. With this in mind, we decided to set up a pavement pavement of 20,000 square meters, with all the necessary infrastructure to receive outdoor events. Do you want to raise a tent on the top of it? No problem, the floor will already be there.

The fairs go through a moment of digitalization and the exhibition center is a fundamental pillar in this. How is the ECN working on the issue of connectivity?

By the end of the year we will have a powerful infrastructure at the Expo Center Norte. We are in contact with a great opera-

e começa a vender a feira. Enquanto isso, nós ficamos esperando a feira acontecer. Ou seja, ficamos próximos durante um período mas, depois da assinatura do contrato, nos isolamos até a realização da feira. Queremos uma aproximação maior. Nossa proposta com o NEON é prover a solução mais completa e com melhores ferramentas para que o nosso cliente (promotor) consiga entregar para o cliente final dele (expositor) uma melhor condição de negócios. Não estou montando um negócio novo ou um concorrente para os promotores, pelo contrário. Nós proveremos serviços para que eles possam negociar melhor a venda de seus espaços.

E quais são os serviços do NEON? Queremos entregar serviços de limpeza, mobiliário, montagens de pequenos lounges, locação de equipamentos, organização de shows, eventos B2C e negócios de nichos menores que utilizem mais o centro de convenções. A ideia é atuar em parceria com os promotores e desenvolvermos negócios conjuntos. Para este projeto, nós formatamos uma equipe própria de colaboradores, que já são contratados do ECN, e que serão destacados momentaneamente para outra atividade. É um núcleo de pessoas que irão trabalhar focadas em um determinado objetivo: ter soluções integradas para nosso cliente.

Nos últimos anos, com o declínio do Anhembi e o surgimento do São Paulo Expo, ocorreu uma movimentação do setor. Talvez, em um futuro próximo, teremos um “novo Anhembi”. Você acredita em uma nova movimentação?

Vou dar a opinião como Paulo, não como diretor do ECN ou representando o grupo dono do ECN: não tenho certeza se o Anhembi retorna. É preciso muito investimento, realizar uma reforma total e, sabendo o quanto que se fatura neste negócio, o retorno só viria daqui a 12 ou 15 anos. Mas, claro, se realizarem todas as melhorias necessárias, como climatização, piso, nova área de recepção, instalação elétrica, irá dar uma boa movimentada e nós temos que respeitá-lo. Mas quem ganha RR ou quem perde com isso, só o tempo irá dizer.

tor that will be responsible for putting everything up. We will be responsible for the marketing. It is a complex process, but in the end it will reflect in a beautiful structure, with band separation for exhibitors, promoter, visitor and etc. In addition to benefiting our customers, connectivity opens up a digital service opportunity for the ECN. I can have digital square meter, e-commerce, permanent fair, Virtual Reality and etc. In our industry, only selling space per square meter no longer works. We have to seek new solutions to continue existing in this business.

Another novelty is the Negotiated Operations Center (NEON).

How does it work?

First we must understand what happens between us and the promoters. Today my client rents the pavilion and goes to sell the fair, and meanwhile we wait for the fair to happen. That is, we are close, but, after signing the contract, we isolate ourselves until the fair. We want a bigger approach. Our proposal with NEON is to provide the most complete solution with the best tools so that our client (promoter) can deliver a better business condition to his final client (exhibitor). I am not setting up a new business or a competitor for the promoters. It is the opposite. We will provide services so that they can better negotiate the sale of their spaces.

And what are the NEON services?

We want to get into cleaning, furniture, small lounges, equipment rentals, shows, B2C events and niche businesses - a little smaller - to make use of the convention center. The idea is to work in partnership with the promoters and develop joint ventures. For this project we have trained our own team of employees, who are already contracted with the ECN, and who will be temporarily assigned to another activity. It is a nucleus of people who will work focused on a certain goal: to have integrated solutions for our client.

In recent years, with the decline of Anhembi and the emergence of the São Paulo Expo, there was a movement of the sector.

Perhaps, in the near future, we will have a “new Anhembi”. Do you believe in a new move?

I will give the opinion as Paulo, not as director of the ECN or representing the Group owner of the ECN. I am not sure if Anhembi returns. I believe not, but I can be surprised. It is necessary to put a lot of investment, to realize a total reform and, knowing how much that is made in this business, the return would only come from 12 years or 15 years. But even so, if we make all the necessary improvements like air conditioning, flooring, new reception area, electrical installation, we have to respect it. It will get a good bust. But RR whoever wins or loses with it, only time will tell.

M

aior feira de beleza das Américas e segunda maior do setor no mundo, a Beauty Fair tem apresentado crescimento significativo desde a sua primeira edição, realizada em 2005. A evolução pode ser descrita por meio de seus números, como o aumento do total de visitantes e de marcas expositoras, além do incremento na área utilizada para exposição, que saltou de 12.727 m² em 2005 para 82 mil m² no ano passado – o que significa que hoje o evento ocupa todos os pavilhões disponíveis no Expo Center Norte.

De olho nisso, e na tendência da digitalização das feiras de negócios, a Beauty Fair expandiu os seus “domínios” para além do pavilhão, promovendo a beleza o ano inteiro.

“Para a Beauty Fair, o desenvolvimento do mercado de beleza passa, prioritariamente, pela educação. Por isso, todos os anos, promovemos uma rica agenda de congressos e workshops, mantendo, assim, os profissionais atualizados e preparados para as mudanças do mercado”, explica César Tsukuda, diretor-superintendente da Beauty Fair. Em maio, por exemplo, foi realizado o 1º Fórum Digital para Profissionais de Beleza. Já em julho, aconteceu o workshop de fotografia de beleza para celular e, para outubro, está programado outro workshop voltado às mídias sociais.

he largest beauty fair in America and the second largest in the industry in the world, Beauty Fair has shown significant growth since its first edition in 2005. The evolution can be described by its numbers, such as growth in visitation, in the expositor brands and increase in the area used for exhibition, which jumped from 12.727 square meters in 2005 to 82 thousand square meters last year.

This last number, of area, shows that today the event occupies all the pavilions available at Expo Center Norte. With that in mind, and the increased digitalization of trade shows, Beauty Fair has expanded its “domains” beyond the pavilion, promoting beauty all year round.

“For Beauty Fair, the development of the beauty market is, as a matter of priority, through education. That is why, every year, we promote a rich agenda of congresses and workshops, thus keeping professionals up to date and prepared for market changes”, explains César Tsukuda, Superintendent Director at Beauty Fair. In May the 1st Digital Forum for Beauty Professionals was held, in July the beauty photography workshop for mobile and, for October another workshop focused on social media.

“We have also become a hub for industry courses. This is because, through our website, the beauty professional can purchase courses from various academies and schools for a lower value if purchased directly with the educational institution”, he adds.

But, in addition to extending the fair throughout the year through courses and workshops, Beauty Fair continues with its tradition of being the meeting point of professionals for professional updating and relationship. This year’s event will include the 11th Congress of Podiatry, the 13th Congress of Manicures, the 13th International Congress of Aesthetics and Cosmetology, 2nd São Paulo International Micropigmentation Meeting, 2ndBeauty Talk (event for beauty microinfluencers) and many others.

n the radical sport category, skateboarding is the most practiced in the country, only losing to football when we frame it in sports in a general way. In this data it is possible to already have a notion of how big the public of this wellknown culture is. The modality has increasingly conquered its space and is confirmed as one of the modalities of the Olympic Games of 2020.

In the capital of São Paulo, fans of skateboarding and urban culture will not have to wait very long for a good championship, they just have to attend the long awaited URB 360 fair.

Canceled last year due to the moment of crisis faced by the sector, the event arrives in 2018 renewed and with many new features. “This year we are going to make the first edition of URB 360 100% reformulated, building an event that makes sense for the sector. The first novelty is the Brazilian Skateboard Championship, with the big names of street and transition skate facing each other on the biggest mini ramp ever assembled at an event in the country. Altogether, 40 skateboarders will be invited, facing each other in the jam session format.

Hoje, os “gamers” ganharam o mundo e conquistaram milhares de fãs. Reflexo deste momento é a Brasil Game Show (BGS), maior feira da América Latina voltada para o setor e que já recebeu ao longo de suas dez edições mais de 1,5 milhão de pessoas. O país possui cerca de 66,3 milhões de aficionados pelos jogos eletrônicos, que gastaram US$ 1,3 bilhão em 2017, tornando o Brasil o 13º maior mercado de jogos do mundo. Brazil Game Show (BGS), the largest fair in Latin America focused on the sector and has received more than 1.5 million people throughout its ten editions, reflects this moment. A

internet foi criada pelo departamento de defesa dos Estados Unidos por uma questão de sobrevivência, com o objetivo de se ter uma rede capaz de armazenar dados e resistir a uma destruição parcial em caso de ataque. Era a década de 1960, em plena Guerra Fria, quando os norte-americanos e os soviéticos travaram uma acirrada disputa tecnológica. Das pesquisas e do investimento, nasceu, então, em 1969, a internet, chamada inicialmente de Arpanet, que tinha como função principal interligar laboratórios de pesquisa norte-americanos.

Em um passado mais recente, a internet ganhou um importante aliado para sua difusão, o smartphone. Da criação inicial de Martin Cooper, em 1973, muita coisa mudou nos aparelhos celulares. Hoje, eles possuem conexão à rede mundial permitindo resolver diversas atividades com apenas alguns cliques. A evolução da tecnologia é cada vez mais rápida e na 20ª edição do Futurecom os visitantes poderão ter acesso aos lançamentos mais recentes do setor.

A edição passada contou com 220 expositores e 15 mil visitantes, entre eles 5,3 mil congressistas. “Esperamos superar esses números, já que nos encontramos em um momento em que a tecnologia altera o cotidiano de toda a sociedade. Nossa expectativa é de mostrar o maior número de soluções tecnológicas que alavancam os negócios e também beneficiam a vida das pessoas. Além disso, as discussões na área do congresso sempre renovam o conhecimento, pois o evento reúne os profissionais, empreendedores e representantes do governo mais expressivos do país”, Hermano Pinto, diretor de portfólio da Informa Exhibitions Brasil e responsável pelo Futurecom.

A feira contará com uma grade enriquecedora de conteúdos, como o congresso que terá oito auditórios, sendo três exclusivos para congressistas e cinco com conteúdo livre a todos os visitantes do evento. “Procuramos desenvolver um verdadeiro ecossistema de tecnologia e telecomunicações que vai mostrar como blockchain,

he Internet was created by the US Department of Defense for the sake of survival, with the goal of networking that would be capable of storing data and resisting partial destruction in the event of an attack. It was the 1960s, during the Cold War, where the Americans and the Soviet Union were engaged in a heated technological dispute. From research and investment, in 1969 the “internet” was born, initially called Arpanet, which main function was to link US research laboratories.

In a more recent past, the internet has gained an important ally for its diffusion, the smartphone. From Martin Cooper’s initial creation (in 1973), much has changed in cell phones. Today, the handsets have a connection to the worldwide web, allowing you to solve various activities with just a few clicks. The evolution of technology is growing faster and in the 20th edition of Futerecom visitors will have access to the latest releases in the industry.

Our expectation is to show the greatest number of technological solutions that leverage business and also benefit people’s lives. The fair will feature an enriching content grid such as the congress that will have eight auditoriums, three of which are exclusive to congressmen and five with free content to all visitors to the event. “We seek to develop a true ecosystem of Technology and Telecommunications that will show how blockchain, cognitive and artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, smart cities, data security, big

erca de 70% da superfície da Terra é coberta por água, mas apenas 2,6% deste montante é doce e, ainda por cima, grande parcela deste montante não é considerada potável, ou seja, necessita de tratamento para o seu consumo.

Muita água e pouca qualidade exigem olhares atentos para o que esperar do futuro. Realizada há 29 anos, a Feira Nacional de Saneamento e Meio Ambiente (Fenasan) é hoje um dos principais palcos, no Brasil, para se debater e pensar em soluções para o setor. Idealizada pela Associação dos Engenheiros da Sabesp (AESabesp), além de apresentar tendências do segmento em sua feira de negócios, o evento conta, em paralelo, com o Encontro Técnico da AESabesp – Congresso Nacional de Saneamento e Meio Ambiente.

O púbico da feira é composto por técnicos, acadêmicos, universitários, gestores, empresários e membros da comunidade científica brasileira e de países como Alemanha, Argentina, Áustria, Bolívia, China, Colômbia, Costa Rica, Dinamarca, Espanha, Estados Unidos, França, Holanda, Israel, Itália, México, Peru, Portugal, Uruguai e Venezuela. “Para esta edição, a expectativa é receber cerca de 20 mil visitantes e mais de 200 expositores, entre empresas nacionais e internacionais”, afirma Rodrigo Cordeiro, diretor de organização de congressos da MCI Brazil e organizador do evento.

bout 71% of the Earth’s surface is covered by water, with only 2.6% of this amount being “fresh”, yet a large portion of this amount is not considered potable, i.e. it needs treatment for its consumption.

Lots of water and poor quality require careful attention to what to expect from the future. Held 29 years ago, Fenasan (National Fair of Sanitation and Environment) is currently one of the main stages for debates and solutions for the sector in Brazil. Idealized by AESabesp (Association of Engineers of Sabesp), besides presenting trends of the segment in its business fair, the event counts on the Technical Meeting of AESabesp - National Congress of Sanitation and Environment.

The public of the fair is composed of technicians, academics, graduation students, managers, businessmen and members of the Brazilian scientific community and from countries like Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Spain, Holland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Uruguay and Venezuela. “For this edition, the expectation is to receive about 20,000 visitors and more than 200 exhibitors, among national and international companies,” says Rodrigo Cordeiro, congresses organization director at MCI Brazil and the event organizer.

Outra atração para o público será uma “Mesa Redonda” com um tema diferente a cada um dos três dias da feira: governança corporativa e conformidade e os avanços na gestão empresarial brasileira, atualizações das leis voltadas para o setor e saúde e bem-estar social. Outro assunto de grande relevância que será discutido é o tratamento de esgoto, área em que o Brasil ainda precisa de significativos avanços, já que muitos municípios ainda não contam com este serviço.

Outro destaque da Fenasan é o Prêmio Jovem Profissional que chega à 5ª edição. O prêmio seleciona jovens estudantes ou recém-formados com até 30 anos que tenham como premissa a busca de soluções para os desafios do setor. Another attraction for the public will be a “Round Table”, which brings different themes during the three days of the fair, with subjects ranging from “Corporate Governance and Compliance - Advances in Brazilian Business Management” to updates of sector-oriented laws, passing for matters related to health and social welfare. Another context of great relevance is the treatment of sewage, an area in which Brazil still has many municipalities without this type of service.

Another highlight of Fenasan is the Young Professional Award that reaches its 5th edition. The award selects young students or newly graduates up to 30 years and which premise is the search for solutions to the challenges of the sector. In addition to a trophy and a scholarship in the course and institution of their choice, the winner will be able to put their ideas into practice together with AESabesp, implementing their work in the project RR portfolio of the Socio-Environmental Projects Board.

m 2018, a Fesqua chega com um novo nome para atender a uma demanda robusta de setores que ainda não estavam presentes na feira. Sob o nome “Feira Internacional da Indústria de Esquadrias”, o evento ganhou neste ano nove novos setores de atuação: seguradoras, refeições terceirizadas, bancos e empresas de crédito, EPIs, transportes de esquadrias e vidros, equipamentos de movimentação de cargas e içamento, corte e beneficiamento, mapeamento de fachadas e, por fim, usinagem de fixadores.

“A proposta é que os fabricantes de esquadrias, principais visitantes da Fesqua, encontrem em um único lugar tudo que precisam para suas estratégias de negócios, indo muito além de contratos de insumo, mas tendo acesso facilitado a questões burocráticas e financeiras e também a outros serviços, inclusive os que contam com terceirizados. Queremos abordar toda a cadeia produtiva, do início ao fim”, aponta Rimantas Sipas, diretor da Cipa Fiera Milano, que organiza o evento em parceria com Luis Tavares, diretor da Revista Contramarco.

Para agregar estes novos setores, a feira foi dividida em quatro áreas. A primeira será voltada para serviços de apoio à indústria de esquadrias, como refeições para os funcionários, medicina do trabalho, consultorias diversas, transportes, créditos, seguradoras e softwares. A segunda engloba tudo que é aplicado diretamente ao produto, como fabricantes de vidro, fechaduras, roldanas, perfis e demais insumos básicos.

n 2018 Fesqua arrives with a new name to meet a robust demand of sectors that were not yet present at the fair.

Under the name “Feira Internacional da Indústria de Esquadrias”, the event won nine new sectors of acting: insurers, outsourced meals, banks and credit companies, PPEs, transports of frames and windows, cargo handling and hoisting equipment, cutting and processing, mapping of facades and, finally, machining of fasteners.

“The proposal is that the manufacturers of frames, main visitors of Fesqua, find in a single place everything that they need for their business strategies, going far beyond input contracts, but having easy access to bureaucratic, financial, and also related issues, including outsourced services. We want to address the entire production chain, from the beginning to the end”, says Rimantas Sipas, Director of Cipa Fiera Milano, which organizes the event in partnership with Luis Tavares, Director of Revista Contramarco.

To add these new sectors, the fair was divided into four areas.

The first are will focus on support services to the frames industry, such as meals for employees, occupational medicine, miscellaneous consulting, transport, credit, insurance and software.

The second encompasses everything that is applied directly to the product, such as glassmakers, lockers, pulleys, profiles and other basic supplies.

Já a terceira área abrange as indústrias de aplicação indireta, como máquinas de usinagem, EPIs, medidores, compressores, guindastes e iluminação. Na parte de conteúdo, a Fesqua traz o Seminário Brasileiro de Serralheria (Sebraser), o Encontro Nacional da Indústria de Esquadrias de Alumínio, o Simpósio do Acrílico, o Seminário Soluções Acústicas em Vidros e o Campeonato Brasileiro de Serralheiro Top 2018, que tem como objetivo promover o desenvolvimento do setor, qualificar a mão de obra e fomentar novos negócios Juntamente com a Fesqua, acontece a 11ª Feira da Indústria de Tintas, Vernizes e Produtos Correlatos (Feitintas), que contará com uma grade diversificada de palestras e totalmente gratuita aos visitantes.

“Esperamos uma Feitintas renovada e com retorno de grandes marcas âncoras do setor, com a Ilha da Repintura Automotiva e Ilha das Tintas Imobiliárias. Além disso, nesta edição será realizado o I Fórum Internacional de Tintas, um espaço de conhecimento que permitirá aos profissionais do setor trocar experiências para a melhoria de seus negócios e de suas atividades”, adianta Sipas.

Ainda simultaneamente à Fesqua e à Feitintas, a Cipa Fiera Milano traz o 16º Encontro e Exposição Brasileira de Tratamentos de Superfície (Ebrats). Durante o evento serão realizados cursos técnicos com programação sobre o setor e também a “Chamada de Trabalhos”, com apresentação de trabalhos técnicos e de ideias de importantes empresas e profissionais do setor de tratamento de superfície.

“No total, contaremos com mais de 700 marcas expositoras distribuídas em uma área total final de 30 a 35 mil m². Mais de 40 mil profissionais devem visitar a Fesqua e os dois eventos RR simultâneos”, finaliza Sipas.

Simultaneously with Fesqua and Feitintas, Cipa Fiera Milano brings the 16th Ebrats (Brazilian Meeting and Exhibition of Surface Treatments). During the event there will be technical courses with programming on the sector and also the “Call for Papers”, with presentation of technical papers and ideas from important companies and professionals in the surface treatment sector.

“In total we will have more than 700 exhibiting brands and the total final exhibition area will be between 30 thousand squares meters and 35 squares meters. More than 40 thousand professionals should visit Fesqua and the two simultaneous RR events”, ends Sipas.

A

cadeia têxtil e de confecções no Brasil forma o quarto maior parque produtivo de confecção e o quinto maior produtor têxtil do mundo. O país é referência mundial em beachwear, jeanswear e homewear e é a última “cadeia têxtil completa” do Ocidente. Ou seja, envolve desde a produção das fibras – como a plantação de algodão – até os desfiles de moda, passando por fiações, tecelagens, beneficiadoras, confecções e varejo. É justamente neste último elo da cadeia que surgiu uma boa notícia. Após dois anos de dificuldades (2015 e 2016), em que o varejo de vestuário no Brasil acumulou queda de 11% no volume de peças comercializadas, 2017 registrou uma importante recuperação das vendas para o setor. Os dados são do IEMI Inteligência de Mercado, que projeta ainda uma expansão de 4% no volume de peças comercializadas pelo varejo em 2018.

As vendas aumentaram 8,1% em relação a 2016, número que praticamente se iguala aos volumes históricos registrados em 2014, quando o varejo de moda no país atingiu o ápice, com 6,5 bilhões de peças comercializadas. “Acreditamos na retomada e na consolidação do setor. Colocar em evidência a nossa indústria é um dos principais objetivos da FebraTêxtil”, comemora Hélvio Roberto Pompeo Madeira, diretor-presidente do FCEM|Febratex Group, promotor e organizador da FebraTêxtil.

he textile and clothing chain in Brazil is the fourth largest manufacturing productive park and the fifth largest textile producer in the world. The country is a world reference in beachwear, jeanswear and homewear and the last “complete textile chain” of the east. That is, from the production of fibers - such as cotton planting - to fashion shows, through spinning, weaving, processing, and retailing.

It is precisely in this last link of the chain that good news came.

After two years of difficulties (2015 and 2016), where apparel retailing in Brazil accumulated an 11% decrease in the volume of parts sold, 2017 recorded a significant recovery in sales to the sector. The data are from IEMI’s Market Intelligence, which projects a 4% expansion in the volume of parts sold by retail in 2018.

Sales increased by 8.1% compared to 2016, almost equal to the historical volumes registered in 2014, when the country’s fashion retail reached the apex with 6.5 billion pieces sold. “We believe in resumption and consolidation and highlight our industry is one of the main objectives of FebraTêxtil”, celebrates Hélvio Roberto Pompeo Madeira, CEO of FCEM | Febratex Group, promoter and organizer of FebraTêxtil.

The event will be ideal for retailers, companies and professionals to check out the latest news in the industry. In its first edition, which happened simultaneously to the Tecnotêxtil Brasil, Fintt and Boné Show fairs, in April 2017, FebraTêxtil confirmed the potential of the Brazilian textile industry. In conjunction with the other fairs, there were more than 12.9 thousand registrations of buyers and visitors from the main regions of Brazil, as well as professionals from 27 other countries interested in doing business with the main companies. “We considered 2017 the pilot edition of the event and, from that moment on, it was already possible to bring together the main companies in the sector”, says Hélvio.

entista por formação, Paulo Zahr sempre soube da sua vocação empreendedora. Durante os quatro anos de graduação, foi representante de classe e já desenvolvia trabalhos envolvendo liderança. Especializado em ortodontia, ele clinicou por dois anos após sua formação e vislumbrou uma nova oportunidade de negócio ao notar o quão caro eram os procedimentos para a colocação de um aparelho odontológico – uma variação de R$15 a 20 mil de investimento.

Pensando em como tornar a opção mais acessível, o dentista teve a oportunidade de negociar com um fornecedor de aparelhos odontológicos que também era novo no setor e tinha a mesma vontade de colocar mais aparelhos na rua. Zahr decidiu, então, não cobrar a instalação, mas sim a manutenção, com opções de pagamentos cabíveis no bolso do cliente, por meio de carnê.

Parceria fechada com a meta de colocar mil aparelhos. Contudo, só no primeiro ano, os números superaram as expectativas. Foram cinco mil instalações em 19 consultórios. Nascia, assim, a OdontoCompany, que se tornou uma rede de franquias em 2010, após a

During the 4 years of graduation, he was a class representative and was already developing work involving leadership. Specialized in Orthodontics, Dr. Paulo Zahr trained for two years after his graduation and envisioned a new business opportunity by noting how expensive were the procedures for placing a dental appliance - an investment between BRL 15-20 thousand.

Thinking about how to make the option affordable, Dr. Zahr had the opportunity to negotiate with a dental appliance supplier who was also new to the industry and had the same desire to put more appliances on the street. Hence came the decision not to charge the facility, but rather the maintenance, with payments options fit to the customer’s wallet, such as payment book.

Partnership closed with the goal of putting a thousand appliances.

However, in the first year alone, the numbers surpassed expectations and reached 5,000 facilities and 19 offices. OdontoCompany was born, which became a network of franchises in 2010, after the partnership with SMZTO Holding of Franchises. Leader in the sector

and recognized throughout Brazil, today the franchise has more than 500 units sold, of which 340 are in operation. To open a franchise, it is required an initial investment of BRL 189,010 to BRL 307,327 with a payback period between 20 to 24 months.

“The desire to take access to quality dental treatments for a public of all Brazil that until then did not have this possibility. At the same time, I realized that the business model I had developed in my clinic was sustainable and highly reliable, and that it could be reproduced through franchising, generating business opportunity for many people”, says Dr. Paulo Zarh, founder and president of the OdontoCompany and PartMed networks.

OdontoCompany did not bring satisfaction only to investors, customers have also been satisfied with the services provided. For Dr. Zahr, patient satisfaction had a major impact on the creation of the group’s latest franchise. “Many of our clients said that it would be great if we had other specialties. Then I thought, why not?”, he recalls.

“O desejo era levar tratamentos odontológicos de qualidade para brasileiros que até então não tinham essa possibilidade. Ao mesmo tempo, percebi que o modelo de negócio que eu havia desenvolvido na minha clínica era sustentável e de alta confiabilidade, e que poderia ser reproduzido por meio de franquias, gerando oportunidade de negócios para muitas pessoas”, diz Paulo Zahr, fundador e presidente das redes OdontoCompany e PartMed. A OdontoCompany não trouxe satisfação somente para os investidores, os clientes também têm se mostrado satisfeitos com os serviços prestados. Para o dentista, a satisfação dos pacientes teve grande impacto na criação da mais recente franquia do grupo.

“Muitos de nossos clientes falavam que seria ótimo se tivéssemos outras especialidades. Daí pensei: , Por que não?”, relembra.

Nosso objetivo é oferecer atendimento de qualidade atrelado a valores acessíveis e com possibilidades de parcelamentos sem as burocracias e restrições impostas pelos convênios médico”, finaliza Zahr.

profissionalização do setor de eventos não é uma pauta nova. O formato no qual o dono da empresa assume as funções comerciais, operacionais, de tecnologia, de sustentabilidade, entre tantas outras, não é mais possível. Os eventos mudaram muito, seguem evoluindo diariamente e é muito difícil acompanhar todas as demandas e inovações que o mercado exige hoje em dia. A única forma de sobrevivência no mercado atual é a profissionalização.

Ainda hoje as empresas continuam sendo as principais escolas de formação de mão de obra. Somado a isso, existe uma lacuna muito grande de profissionais experientes no setor. “Executivos para a área de eventos, grande gestores para seu negócio são exemplos de uma mão de obra absolutamente escassa. Então, acabamos nos apoiando na publicidade, na propaganda e no turismo para buscarmos estes executivos. E essa não é a melhor solução”, aponta Rodrigo Cordeiro, diretor de organização de congressos da MCI Brasil.

De olho neste nicho, a Fundação Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas (Fipe) realiza pelo segundo ano consecutivo o curso “Especialização em Gestão dos Negócios de Eventos”, que conta com a coordenação do próprio Rodrigo, junto com Beatriz Lage, professora titular da ECA/USP e da FIPE, e Juan Pablo De Vera, vice-presidente sênior da América Latina da Reed Exhibitions e Presidente do Conselho de Administração da UBRAFE.

The format in which the owner is the business, operational, technology, and sustainability individual is no longer possible. The events have changed a lot, continuing to evolve daily, and it is complex to keep track of all demands and innovations that the market demands nowadays. The only way of survival nowadays is an on-the-job training.

Even today, companies continue to be the main training schools for labor. In addition to that, there is a very large gap of executives of event companies. “If you want to hire an executive to the event field, a great manager for your business, it is a completely scarce workforce. So we end up relying on publicity, advertising and tourism to find these executives. And that’s not the best solution”, says Rodrigo Cordeiro, MCI Brazil’s congress organization director.

With an eye on this niche, the Foundation for Economic Research (Fipe) holds for the second consecutive year the course “Specialization in Events Business Management”, which is coordinated by Rodrigo himself and Beatriz Lage (Full Professor of ECA/USP and FIPE) and Juan Pablo De Vera (Senior Vice-President of Latin America at Reed Exhibitions and Chairman of the Board of Directors of UBRAFE).

entre os cerca de 33 mil quartos de hotéis que o Rio de Janeiro coloca à disposição dos turistas, os 88 que formam o Hotel Copa Sul merecem um olhar especial.

O que chama a atenção não é apenas o serviço, o atendimento ou os recursos que o empreendimento localizado em Copacabana tem a oferecer. O que diferencia o hotel dos outros instalados na cidade é que, no Copa Sul, corre o DNA de uma das personalidades mais destacadas e atuantes na luta pelo turismo brasileiro, Alexandre Sampaio.

Atual presidente da Federação Brasileira de Hospedagem e Alimentação (FBHA) e também presidente do Conselho Empresarial de Turismo e Hospitalidade (CETUR) da Confederação Nacional do Comércio de Bens, Serviços e Turismo (CNC), Sampaio possui 40 anos de atuação no mercado hoteleiro.

Antes de entrar para este ramo, sua família teve negócios em diferentes: de linhas de ônibus, a fábrica de carroceiras, passando por concessionária de automóveis até, finalmente, chegarem à indústria hoteleira. “Entendemos que o ramo era promissor. Primeiro foi construído o Rio Copa Hotel, em Copacabana. Em 1982, devido a sugestões da Petrobras, erguemos o Lagos Copa Hotel, em Macaé, no norte fluminense (região de petróleo). Em 1984, as empresas da família se separaram e nosso lado, dois anos depois, ergueu o Copa Sul, que fica no posto seis, também em Copacabana”, relembra Sampaio.

Em 1990, a situação do Rio de Janeiro ficou muito deteriorada em relação à violência e à segurança, algo que voltou à tona nos últimos anos. “Isso começou a afetar os meus negócios e fez com que eu entrasse e militasse em estruturas sindicais e patronais.

Entendi, então, que meu ingresso junto à associação hoteleira local seria importante. Me aproximei e passei a colaborar”, conta.

Although the service, attendance or resources that the enterprise located in Copacabana has to offer, the hotel highlights from the others that permeate the city is that, in Copa Sul, runs the DNA of one of the main personalities that fights for the Brazilian tourism, Alexandre Sampaio.

Currently he is the president of the Brazilian Federation of Lodging and Food (FBHA) and also president of the Tourism and Hospitality Business Council (CETUR) of the National Confederation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC), Sampaio has 40 years of experience in the hotel market. Before joining this branch, his family had business in in different sectors such as bus lines, then a car factory, a car dealership, and finally they entered to the hotel business. “We understood the industry was promising. Rio Copa Hotel was first built in Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro. In 1982, due to suggestions from Petrobras, we build Lagos Copa Hotel, in Macaé, in the north of Rio de Janeiro (oil region). In 1984 the family companies split and our side raised Copa Sul in 1986, in the sixth place, also in Copacabana”, recalls Sampaio.

In 1990 the situation in Rio de Janeiro was very deteriorated in terms of violence and security, something that has surfaced in recent years. “This started to affect my business and made me enter and work in the trade union and employer structures. I understood then that my ticket with the local hotel association would be important. I approached and began to work”, he says.

It was the beginning of a journey that lasts until today. Graduated in accounting sciences, Sampaio was the president of SindRio from

Era o início de uma caminhada que dura até hoje. Formado em Ciências Contábeis, Sampaio foi presidente do SindRio entre 2002 e 2010, vice-presidente da ABIH-RJ, diretor financeiro, diretor jurídico e vice-presidente da ABIH Nacional. Em maio de 2018 foi reeleito presidente da FBHA até 2022.

Na Federação, questões como a regulamentação das plataformas digitais de hospedagem familiar, a estruturação de um ambiente mais receptivo para investimentos no setor (nacionais e internacionais) e uma melhor regulamentação da atividade são algumas pautas importantes que precisam ser observadas de perto. “Estamos acompanhando toda a agenda parlamentar, mas queremos também ser propositivos a partir da realidade do nosso setor que muda de maneira vertiginosa com esta economia disruptiva. Quais são os desafios e as demandas que o hoteleiro do novo século vai enfrentar e o que podem fazer para renovar seu empreendimento? Como se tornar atual? E tudo isso em um ambiente não muito fraterno para investimentos no Brasil, sejam eles nacionais ou internacionais”, comenta.

Making the environment more friendly to the business of national tourism has been one of the great battles fought by Sampaio. Brazil, despite having a potential of nature that privileges it, has an inhospitable environment to undertake in tourism, with laws that burden entrepreneurs or bureaucracy processes that should be more agile.

“Today, business owners spend more time doing accounts and cutting costs, than spending time thinking about new businesses. We have

O Brasil, apesar de ter um potencial de natureza privilegiado, possui um ambiente inóspito para empreender no turismo, com leis que oneram os investidores ou burocratizam processos que deveriam ser mais ágeis. “Hoje, os empresários vivem mais de fazer contas e cortar custos do que pensando em novos negócios. Já fizemos a Reforma Trabalhista – que está em constante ameaça pois já se fala em rever algumas coisas no Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) –, mas também precisamos urgentemente fazer a Reforma Tributária neste país porque ele tem muito o que ser simplificado. Isso sem falar no licenciamento ambiental que também precisa ser mais célere e menos exigente”.

Para o empresariado do setor, a legislação ambiental atual atrapalha a atração de investimentos para novos empreendimentos, como resorts, parques temáticos e marinas. A grande questão está na velocidade para a definição de prazos para aprovação ou não de investimentos e a quantidade de órgãos públicos envolvidos nas aprovações: executivos federal, estadual e municipal, Ibama e o poder judiciário. “Somos bem críticos em relação ao licenciamento ambiental. É impossível que

os órgãos não estejam vendo o quão importante é flexibilizá-lo ela sem abrir mão de certos preceitos de sustentabilidade.

Até porque a sustentabilidade é nosso ouro, o pulo do gato do próprio turismo. Ninguém quer destruir. É só uma questão de balizamento e bom senso”, explica Sampaio.

Outro ponto que pode colaborar para atrair investimentos para o país – e para o setor – é a aprovação da lei que permite a autorização dos cassinos no Brasil. A estimativa do Ministério do Turismo é que mais de R$ 50 bilhões seriam injetados.

“Não será a bala de prata, mas acho fundamental trazer os jogos para o Brasil. Será mais um fator que contribuirá para o turismo”, diz. São algumas medidas que podem ajudar o Brasil a sair da casa dos 6 milhões de visitantes por ano (ou 0,5% dos turistas que viajam pelo mundo).

Outras duas oportunidades de ouro para que o turismo desse um salto em seus números já ficou para trás. A Copa do Mundo levou investimentos a 12 cidades que foram sede. Muitos governos municipais e mesmo estaduais facilitaram o de-

For the business sector, current environmental legislation hinders the attraction of investments for new ventures, such as resorts, theme parks and marinas. The great question is the speed in defining deadlines for approval or not of investments and the number of public bodies involved in approvals: federal, state and municipal executives, Ibama and the judiciary. “We are very critical towards the environmental licensing. It is impossible for the bodies not to see how important it is to flexibilize it without giving up certain precepts of sustainability. Even because sustainability is our gold, the thing we have within the tourism. No one wants to destroy it. It’s just a matter of beaconing and common sense”, explains Sampaio.

senvolvimento com desonerações e incentivos fiscais. Logo na sequência vieram os Jogos Olímpicos no Rio de Janeiro. Mas o que restou de legado dos dois megaeventos foi uma expansão da rede hoteleira brasileira que agora busca alternativas para melhorar seus índices de ocupação.

“Você tem uma situação muito complicada da hotelaria brasileira. Existe hoje uma superoferta em alguns lugares. O Rio, por exemplo, passou da hotelaria mais rentável para uma das piores do Brasil neste quesito. A superoferta depreciou as diárias médias fazendo o setor enfrentar uma situação bem difícil em alguns estados do Brasil”, explica Sampaio. Mas o cenário não é de caos, pelo menos não total. De acordo com o executivo, cidades médias do interior ainda contam com um bom valor de média diária e hotéis com bons índices de ocupação.

Apesar da crise econômica e da violência (que afasta os turistas internacionais), Sampaio enxerga que os eventos podem ser uma alternativa positiva para o mercado carioca. Como base é possível olhar para a capital paulista, que apesar de ter passado por uma crise hoteleira alguns anos atrás, hoje sofre muito menos graças ao turismo de negócios. Outros estados, como Paraíba, Ceará e Bahia já enxergaram também neste segmento uma alternativa. Existe uma percepção do trade local, nos mais variados cantos do Brasil, que o turismo de negócios pode ser uma saída incrível para este momento e desenvolvimento do setor”.

Com tantos problemas e ideias, é certo que Sampaio ainda tem muito trabalho pela frente. Desanimado em entrar para a política neste ano, “em virtude da pífia reforma eleitoral”, pelo menos até 2022 ele seguirá se doando, junto aos associados que formam a CNC e FBHA, para este setor que tem sido a missão de sua vida.

“Tudo no Brasil tem que ser feito de uma maneira agregada.

Eu acredito muito no sociativismo e na junção de esforços para podermos fazer as modificações necessárias. A sociedade, assim como o empresariado, tem que se organizar desta RR forma”, finaliza.

The Ministry of Tourism estimates that more than R$ 50 billion will be injected. “It will not be the silver bullet, but I think it’s fundamental to bring the games to Brazil. It will be another factor that will contribute to tourism”, he says. These are some measures that can help Brazil get out of the 6 million visitors per year (0.5% of tourists traveling the world).

Two other golden opportunities for tourism to make a jump on their numbers are already behind them. The World Cup took an investment in the 12 cities that were host. Many municipal and even state governments have facilitated development with tax exemptions and incentives. Soon afterwards came the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. But, what remained of the legacy of the two megaevents was an expansion of the Brazilian hotel chain that now seeks alternatives to improve its occupancy rates.

“You have a very complicated situation on the Brazilian hotels. There is now an over-supply in some places. Rio, for example, went from the most profitable hotels to one of the worst in Brazil in this respect. The super-offer depreciated the average daily, making the sector face a very difficult situation, in general, in some states of Brazil”, explains Sampaio. But the scenario is not chaos, at least not a total chaos. According to the executive, medium-sized cities in the interior still count on average good rates and hotels with good occupancy rates.

Despite the economic crisis and violence (which alienates international tourists), Sampaio sees that events can be a positive alternative for the Rio market. As a base it is possible to look at the capital of São Paulo, where despite having experienced a hotel crisis a few years ago, today it suffers much less thanks to business tourism. Other states, such as João Pessoa, Fortaleza and Bahia, have also seen an alternative in this segment. There is a perception of the local trade, in the most varied corners of Brazil, that business tourism can be an incredible outlet for this moment and development of the sector”.

With so many problems and ideas, it is true that Sampaio still has a lot of work to do. Discouraged to enter in politics this year, “by virtue of the fake electoral reform”, at least until 2022 he will continue to donate, along with the members who form the CNC and FBHA, to this sector that has been the mission of his life.

“Everything in Brazil has to be done in an aggregate way. I believe very much in the socio-activism, the joining of efforts, so that we can make the necessary modifications. Society, as well as business, must RR organize itself in this way”, he concludes.

As mídias sociais, a igualdade dos gêneros, o empoderamento das minorias, millenials, crises econômicas, crises políticas, foco no meio ambiente, globalização, fusões e aquisições... ufa! Todos estes são desafios diários dos profissionais de marketing e da gestão de marcas. Como acompanhar tudo isso? Como fazer que a sua marca acompanhe tudo isso de forma atuante e proativa?

Como não deixar a sua marca ser atropelada pela história? Como conseguir que todos estes fatores atuem ao seu favor? Quais setores precisam de um evento e, por decorrência, uma nova marca específica para representar esta movimentação?

f you work in the marketing of any company, in the area of Business Fairs and or events and promotions, perhaps you share with me that the big challenge is brand management. Launching a brand, repositioning a brand, buying a brand or even “killing” a brand has the same representation as the World Cup for footballers! It is the great moment of the marketing professional, who can define and implement all the chapters of the author Philip Kotler in one go!

To create new brands I, in particular, believe that I am really that goal of the turn in the second time of the game. It is the summit, the unforgettable. A moment to include in my curriculum! Perhaps this is one of the great opportunities that this sector offers marketers, in my opinion. In other sectors, such as the consumer products market for example, this brand management is much more difficult and complicated. But, in the business fair sector, if you have, for example, good analytical skills coupled with great connections to a specific market and spectacular execution capabilities, things can happen!

Social media, gender equality, minority empowerment, millennials, economic crisis, political crises, focus on the environment, globalization, mergers and acquisitions ... Wow! All these are daily challenges of marketers and brand management professionals. How can we follow all this? How to make your brand follow all this in an active and proactive way? How can you not let your brand get run over by history? How do you get all these factors to work in your favor? Which of these sectors needs an event and, consequently, a new specific brand to represent this movement?

Reading the papers carefully - as I do every day at the corner bakery while I make my average - I find that the examples of “death”, “rebirth” and “birth” of brands appear daily in the news.

It is an impressive list. Let’s see some highlights.

The giant Bayer has equally bought Monsanto. “If it is Bayer it is good” has ceased to be a mere advertising slogan to become a business strategy. Bayer, a reference in health, buys Monsanto of Transgenics. Aspirin 1 x RoundUp 0!

Sobre “renascimento” é só analisar as marcas nacionais JBS e Odebrecht para entender. Quais são as ações necessárias para se criar uma nova mentalidade em relação as marcas que enfrentam graves crises de credibilidade? É uma questão de definir qual será o formato do estande e quem convido para o próximo evento da marca? Creio que não...

O lançamento ou criação de uma marca, como já mencionei, é o grande momento do profissional de marketing. Mas quantas empresas souberam aproveitar a oportunidade que uma grande crise econômica oferece para implantar esta estratégia? Quantas marcas estão “esquecidas” por aí em relatórios de consultorias, mentes de empreendedores ou apresentações de Power Point? Quantos novos eventos para atender estas novas necessidades de mercado foram lançados nestes últimos anos de crise por aqui?

Justo este mercado de feiras e eventos que não necessita de grandes investimentos em CAPEX para se desenvolver, não mostrou força de atuação durante a crise recente. Por quê? Porque este setor não foi o exemplo positivo de “remar contra a maré” e lançar propostas de novos eventos que ajudassem os outros a saírem da crise? Pense nisso e vamos à luta.

Why was not this sector the positive example of “paddling against the tide” and launching proposals for new events to help others get out of the crisis?

ma das ideias mais comuns sobre inovação é que inovar significa fazer tudo novo, tudo diferente, começando do zero.

A grande verdade é que as maiores inovações foram feitas a partir de ideias já existentes. Foram, na verdade, pequenas melhorias realizadas em produtos e serviços que existiam há anos.

Outra verdade é que muitas inovações ocorreram por puro acaso e, muitas vezes, como consequência de um erro. Outra verdade ainda é que pessoas inovadoras são aquelas que não têm medo de errar e acreditam nas suas ideias e intuições. Muitas pessoas me dizem ter tido ideias que apareceram como inovadoras somente anos depois.

Isto significa que você deve estudar,ler, participar de cursos, congressos, palestras e tudo o que agregue conhecimento; 6. Aprenda a ter momentos de relaxamento para que seu cérebro possa fazer conexões e trazer para fora novas ideias e intuições; 7. Faça ao perceber. Não deixe uma ideia se perder. Muitas ideias boas se perdem por falta de ação imediata.

E quando um consultor de fora apresenta essas mesmas ideias as pessoas da empresa se sentem, com toda a razão, desmotivadas e desprestigiadas.

Lembre-se: o medo de errar, de falar e de propor é um dos maiores empecilhos para a inovação. Acredite em você e em suas RR ideias e pise fundo!

I am writing this because it is the people who work in companies or organizations who have the best ideas for solving existing problems, but these ideas are never known to leadership. And when an outside consultant presents these same ideas the people of the company feel, rightly, unmotivated and discredited.

gráfico no Google Trends indica um repentino aumento da busca pelo termo “Croácia” nas últimas semanas. Não à toa, afinal, a seleção superou sua melhor campanha em todas as Copas do Mundo, ficando em segundo lugar na Copa do Mundo realizada, entre junho e julho, na Rússia. Zebra do futebol, o país também deu show em como vender um destino aproveitando oportunidades.

Em um primeiro momento, pode até parecer antagônico que a Copa esteja em alta, já que o Mundial foi disputado em terras russas. Mas oportunidade não se ganha, se cria. Aproveitando o sucesso da seleção, com personagens marcantes como Modric, eleito melhor jogador da competição, Rakitic, Mandzukic, Kovacic, e a própria presidente Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic, que conquistou o público por comparecer uniformizada aos jogos, comprar ingressos com o próprio dinheiro e viajar com a torcida em voos comerciais, a Croácia surfou na onda positiva para lançar um vídeo promocional com os jogadores apresentando o destino.

O vídeo pode ser visto em www.croatia.hr e foi divulgado próximo à final contra a França. Se o material fosse lançado uma semana depois, já não teria o mesmo efeito.

Simples, direto, criativo e assertivo. Com um timing perfeito, o turismo da Croácia terá um legado de uma Copa que não sediou, mas que teve a inteligência de aproveitar as oportunidades, dando nexo a atividades aparentemente desconexas, mas, RR agora, com total sentido entre si.

he chart in Google Trends indicates a sudden surge in the search for the term “Croatia” in recent weeks. J

á faz algum tempo que a UFI está presente na América Latina. Nosso primeiro membro na região, a Corferias, tornou-se associada em 1956. Em 1975, a empresa foi responsável por sediar nosso Congresso Global, em Bogotá, tornando a ser palco do mesmo evento novamente em 2014.

Hoje, temos 42 membros associados na região, de oito países diferentes: Argentina, Bolívia, Brasil, Chile, Colômbia, Cuba, El Salvador, México e Peru. Mesmo que estes países representem os mercados de exposições mais importantes na América Latina, ainda miramos em outros países para que eles se juntem a nós em breve.

Entre 18 e 19 de setembro deste ano, a UFI realiza a primeira edição da Conferência Latino-Americana, no World Trade Center da Cidade do México. O evento conta com o apoio da AFIDA, AOCA e UBRAFE – membros da UFI na região. Nele estarão presentes nossos colegas da indústria de toda América Latina.

Logo depois da Conferência, entre os dias 19 a 23 de setembro, acontece o 21º Congresso AMPROFEC também no México.

A Conferência Latino-Americana é um passo importante neste novo capítulo da UFI na América Latina, uma região que tem RR muito a oferecer.

has been present in Latin America quite for some time - our first member from the region, Corferias, joined us back in 1956 and hosted the Global Congress in Bogota in 1975, and again in 2014. We now have 42 members in the region from eight different countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, El Salvador, Mexico & Peru. While this covers the most important exhibition markets – there are still several countries missing, which we hope to cover soon.

The first UFI Latin American Conference is taking place at the World Trade Center in Mexico City, from 18 -19 September and is collocated with the 21st AMPROFEC Congress, which runs from 1923 September. With support from regional association members AFIDA, AOCA and UBRAFE, this event is bringing together industry colleagues from the whole Latinamerican region. It is an important step in this new chapter of UFI in Latin America, a region which has plenty to offer.

É por isso que os investimentos no marketing de incentivos têm demonstrado crescimento. O setor, que já movimenta mais de R$ 7 bilhões anuais no país, cresceu em campanhas, premiação, eventos e viagens, segundo a Associação de Marketing Promocional (Ampro).

As campanhas motivacionais, sejam elas voltadas a equipes internas ou ao cliente final, têm deixado de ser uma ferramenta para resolver necessidades de curto ou médio prazo e passam a ser vistas como estratégias de longo prazo, previstas nos budgets anuais.

“O incentivo, como o Live Marketing, é o primeiro a ser acionado quando há mudanças econômicas. A importância do Marketing de Incentivo é bem conhecida e utilizada para se ter agilidade na obtenção respostas das pessoas nos pontos estratégicos da marca: canal de distribuição, equipes, produção, negociações, formadores de opinião”, avalia o diretor do Comitê de Marketing de Incentivo da Ampro, Luiz Alberto Salles.

As campanhas podem ter desde uma estrutura mais parruda, composta por plataforma, comunicação, treinamento, premiações e viagens, que alcança melhores resultados, até mais simples, com foco no atingimento de metas e premiações que visam , por exemplo, o giro de estoque. Há ainda as ações sazonais de lançamento de produto e estímulo de mercado que, segundo os especialistas,

The importance of Incentive Marketing is well known and used in the agility in obtaining answers from people at the strategic points of the brand: distribution channel, teams, production, negotiations, opinion leaders,” says the director of the Marketing Incentive Marketing Committee of AMPRO, Luiz Alberto Salles.

“Para as empresas, há ganhos na produtividade, na redução de custos e na agilidade de resultados. Os benefícios para os usuários são a regulamentação dos ganhos por produtividade e o auxílio no crescimento profissional, envolvimento e engajamento com os objetivos estratégicos da organização”, complementa Albregard.

A defesa em favor da regulamentação do Marketing de Incentivos no Brasil foi um dos principais objetivos do Comitê da Ampro que, agora, terá como foco principal o crescimento do setor e a busca por inovações, tendências, pesquisas e formação. “Estamos capacitando o mercado brasileiro em suas regiões, criando material acadêmico, melhores práticas e pesquisas. Também estamos desenvolvendo ações que têm como objetivo beneficiar as agências especializadas em criar e executar as melhores campanhas de incentivo, E, junto com a AMPRO, estamos divulgando os benefícios para as empresas e seus colaboradores e estimulando a produtividade e a competiviRR dade nacional”, conclui Luiz Salles.

Recently, Air Europa added to the city of São Paulo its network of destinations Dreamliner, operating its daily flight with a Boeing 787-8, one of the most modern aircraft today. In Salvador and Recife, the company operates with the Airbus 330-200 model.

The Airbus 330 has different onboard audio and video systems, depending on the route operated, such as in-cabin entertainment screens and audio and streaming technology, where passengers can watch or listen to the entertainment available on board from your own device, using your tablet or smartphone.

All Boeing 787s have individual screen entertainment systems on the front seat backrest. The Air Europa Boeing 787 Dreamliner is configured with 296 seats, 22 in Business Class and 274

Aeroporto Internacional de Salvador, na Bahia, está localizado a 28 km do centro da cidade. Existem várias formas de se chegar e sair do aeroporto de Salvador: metrô ligando ao centro, terminal de ônibus com diversas rotas para a região metropolitana e principais destinos do litoral norte, além de serviços de táxi e aluguel de veículos.

Em março de 2017, o aeroporto foi concedido à iniciativa privada por meio de um leilão, sendo administrada desde o início de 2018 pela concessionária Vinci Airports – que já iniciou um processo de modernização do aeroporto.

As obras estão divididas em duas fases (1B e 1C) nos próximos quatro anos. A primeira foi iniciada em abril de 2018 e tem previsão de conclusão em outubro de 2019. A segunda tem conclusão prevista para outubro de 2021. A primeira fase envolve ampliação e modernização do terminal de passageiros existente, mudanças no embarque e desembarque, modernização de banheiros e fraldários, melhorias na sinalização, instalação de novos sistemas de ar condicionado e ventilação, adequação na infraestrutura na área das RR aeronaves, entre outros.

alvador International Airport (Salvador Bahia Airport) is 28 km from the city center. There are several ways to get to and from Salvador Airport: subway connecting to downtown, bus terminal with several routes to the Metropolitan Region, and main destinations of the North Coast, taxi services and car rental. In March 2017 the airport was granted to the private sector through an auction, which has been managed since the beginning of 2018 by the concessionaire Vinci Airports - which has already begun a process of modernization of the airport.

The works are divided into two stages (1B and 1C) in the next four years. The first was initiated in April 2018 and is expected to be completed in October 2019. The second is scheduled for completion in October 2021. The first stage involves the expansion and modernization of the existing passengers’ terminal, changes in boarding and disembarking, modernization of bathrooms and changing rooms, improvements in signaling, installation of new air conditioning and ventilation systems, upgrading of infrastructure in the aircraft area, RR among other improvements.

CARLOS FERREIRINHA O carioca Carlos Ferreirinha é formado em Administração de Empresas. Seu preparo e determinação fizeram dele embaixador de marketing da EDS nos Estados Unidos e depois CEO e diretor da Louis Vuitton. Em 2001, ele fundou a MCF Consultoria, da qual é presidente. Hoje, Ferreirinha transita com facilidade pelo universo do luxo e inventou a profissão de consultor desse mercado no Brasil, montando em seguida um MBA sobre luxo na FAAP, em São Paulo. A partir de sua visão global do setor, ele nos antecipa cinco tendências de luxo para 2019.
