Al conversar con un experimentado productor y comercializado de flores sobre el mercado americano, y con varios otros importadores de flores para este mercado, sacamos en conclusión que la demanda del mercado de USA sigue siendo muy importante y con un crecimiento sostenido.

La importancia de los volúmenes comercializados a través de los supermercados es muy grande, relacionado al poder y costumbre de consumo que tiene esta sociedad, los puntos de venta de las cadenas de supermercados van a seguir siendo las de mayor volumen.

Lamentablemente, son pocas las cadenas que le dan el tratamiento adecuado a este negocio, y que les es un buen negocio vender flores. Para la gran mayoría de cadenas es un producto más para completar la canasta de productos a ofrecer a sus clientes,

les resulta hasta un mal negocio ofrecer flores en sus locales.

Con esta realidad los proveedores de los supermercados, los importadores, manejan unos márgenes muy estrechos para ofrecer a las fincas mejores precios.

Que tanto conviene seguir siendo proveedor de estas cadenas, hay que analizar muy bien esta situación.

Por otro lado al conversar con minoristas en la feria de Chicago, podemos deducir que hay nichos de marcado para la flor de calidad que producimos en el Ecuador, hay que trabajar en la combinación de estas realidades para mantener el equilibrio de nuestras ventas a este mercado.

Les presentamos en esta edición un reportaje de la casa abierta de Olij, y lo que fue la feria Wold floral expo 2014.

Speaking with an experienced flower producer and marketer about the American market and with several other flower importers for this same market, we concluded that the U.S. market still stands as a very important one that holds a sustained growth.

The importance of the volumes sold through supermarkets is very large, related to power consumption and the habit to do so this society has, the sale points within supermarket chains will remain the ones with the largest volume.

Unfortunately, few brands give a proper treatment to this business, and that it is good business for them to sell flowers.

For the vast majority of chains it is just another product to complete the basket of products they offer to their customers, they find it bad business to offer flowers at their premises.

With this reality, supermarket suppliers, the importers, handle very narrow margins to be able to offer flower producing farms better prices.

How convenient is it to remain suppliers of these chains, this situation has to be analyzed in depth.

On the other hand, talking to retailers at the fair in Chicago, we can deduce that there are market niches for the fine quality flowers we produce in Ecuador; work has to be done regarding the combination of these realities in order to maintain the balance of our sales to this market.

We present in this issue a report of the Olij open house, and what was the WoldFloral Expo Fair 2014.

Уважаемые друзья : Представляем Вам во вступительной части нашего журнала репортаж с цветочной выставки, проходившей в Голландии в 2013 году. Голландия продолжает быть важным местом для мирового цветоводства, где собирается огромное количество покупателей из разных стран, желающих приобрести широкую гамму продуктов, которые нелегко получить напрямую из Голландии в их странах. Такая ситуация возникала по различным причинам таким как: языковый барьер, сложная логистика прохождения продукта от производителя до конечного потребителя, подготовка цветов для транспортировки и.т.д. Большинство производителей Эквадора, Колумбии, Кении, Индии, Тайвани, Перу, Чили, Мексики продолжают посылать свои цветы через Голландию. Голландцы уже много лет развивают это важное направление как производителя, так и брокерских услуг, удовлетворяя постоянно растущие потребности различных покупателей со всего мира, обеспечивая их цветами из Амстердама. На протяжении многих лет, с совершенствованием связи , зависимость от многих факторов на существующем рынке цветов заметно исчезает, производители цветов стараются выходить напрямую на покупателя, минуя промежуточные

звенья и преодолевая определенные трудности. Всегда появляются новые актеры в этом бизнессе и процесс накопления опыта происходит обязательно через голландский рынок. Эквадорские цветоводы стараются работать самостоятельно и не зависеть от голландского рынка. И, в какой-то степени, уже добились этой цели, однако необходимо признать, что еще достаточно высокий процент цветов продолжает проходить через Голландию.

Мы должны продолжать работать над тем, чтобы совершенствовать инновационные процессы в нашем бизнессе, изменять форму продажи продукта и повышать эффективность человеческого фактора. В последние годы наблюдается значительный рост себестоимости цветка, что заставляет нас оптимизировать затраты и разносторонне мыслить над тем, как поддерживать конкурентоспособность. Entrevista con el Embajador de la Federación de Rusia en la República del Ecuador Señor Yan Anastasevich Burliay E Y F: Señor Embajador, ¿como se están desarrollando las relaciones bilaterales entre su país y el nuestro?

Embajador: Las relaciones entre Ecuador y Rusia se dinamizaron después de la visita del presidente del Ecuador a Moscú y otros lugares importantes de Rusia en octubre de 2013. El volumen del comercio se ha duplicado con un saldo positivo a favor de Ecuador. Muchos acuerdos importantes se firmaron justo después de esta visita, entre los que se incluyen: Contrato de préstamo con CELEC -EP para financiar las instalaciones y componentes de generadores y turbinas para hidroeléctrica Toachi-Pilatón; Protocolos del acuerdo para el proyecto hidroeléctrico Cardenillo, con gasto aproximado de $ 1.200.000.000 con una capacidad instalada de 600 MWh, al igual que el proyecto hidroeléctrico de Chontal con un valor de $ 500. 000.000.

Memorando de interacción entre la compañía ferroviaria rusa y el Ministerio Coordinador de Sectores Estratégicos para la cooperación en la construcción de los ferrocarriles; Contrato de préstamo con CELEC EP para financiar el proyecto de instalación de la tercera turbina de gas de ciclo combinado en la central termoeléctrica en Machala.

En 2013, el Presidente visitó la ciudad rusa del Conocimiento en Skolkovo, situada cerca de Moscú. Este es un proyecto importante guiado por organismos estatales rusos. Su principal objetivo es mantener las relaciones

en un intercambio internacional en el ámbito de la ciencia y la cultura con la Ciudad del Conocimiento en Ecuador Yachay.

Las relaciones se fortalecieron al punto de que cinco empresas rusas ya están operando en Ecuador: NOVOMET, especializada en el suministro de bombas de agua para los pozos de petróleo, esta empresa cuenta con una tecnología exclusiva en esta área.

ANCHAR realiza prospección con baja frecuencia, la cual es un complemento a las tecnologías modernas 2D y 3D para encontrar el yacimiento de petróleo y el gas. Esta tecnología, que según un estudio da 80 % de efectividad, ayudará al ahorro de importantes recursos en tiempo y dinero.

SEVMORGEO, la cual se especializa en geología marina en el Mar del Norte, ha firmado un contrato con Petroamazonas para la investigación del gas por un monto aproximado de $ 46.000.000.

Grupo de Energía Rusa Inter Rao, junto con Tyazhmash en 2015 proporcionará el suministro eléctrico y de equipos eléctricos para la hidroeléctrica Toachi- Pilatón .

En las últimas elecciones regionales en Ecuador fueron invitados los representantes del Consejo Nacional de Rusia en calidad de observadores, a quienes se les concedió los equipos electrónicos, por medio de cual se hizo una votación de prueba en Tumbaco La Morita, con muy buenos resultados en el funcionamiento de los equipos.

Las relaciones comerciales bilaterales, se basan principalmente en la venta de bananos ecuatorianos (1.000 millones de dólares por año). Otros productos

que son parte de los ingresos de exportación de Ecuador a Rusia son los productos del mar. La merluza – es un pez que es muy demandado por la Federación de Rusia. En 2013 de las 6.000 toneladas de merluza pescada, 4.000 toneladas se exportaron a Rusia.

Se permite la importación de 20.000 toneladas por año a Rusia.

Otros productos ecuatorianos también están en alta demanda en la Federación de Rusia, como son el café, el cacao y el extracto de la fruta tropical.

Sobre el negocio de las flores existen grandes perspectivas para aumentar las exportaciones, no sólo por el aumento del consumo en la Federación de Rusia, sino también debido al hecho de que las flores van a los países vecinos, los cuales eran parte de la Unión Soviética y estas siempre pasan por Rusia.

Los días de fiesta importantes, para cuales se aumenta considerablemente la demanda de flores son el Día Internacional de la Mujer 8 de marzo, 1 de septiembre Día del Conocimiento y el 9 de mayo - Día de la Victoria en la Segunda Guerra Mundial.

Las flores ecuatorianas son reconocidas como las mejores en el mercado ruso debido a las siguientes características cualitativas tales como: los botones grandes y tallos gruesos, la vida en el florero y la saturación de los colores, estos son los principales factores que el comprador ruso prefiere siempre en su elección.

Estamos tratando de trabajar duro para aumentar las relaciones comerciales entre nuestros países a favor de la población en ambos.

Вопрос : Господин Посол.Как развиваются двухсторонние отношения между вашей страной и нашей ? Ответ Посла : Отношения между Эквадором и Россией динамизировались после визита Президентом Эквадора г.Москвы и других знаменательных мест России в октябре 2013 года. Объем торговых отношений увеличился в два раза с положительным балансом в пользу Эквадора. Много важных соглашений было подписано именно после этого визита, среди которых могу назвать следующие : Соглашение на предоставление кредита с CELEC-EP для финансирования объектов и составляющих генераторов и турбин для гидроэлектрики Тоачи-Пилатон ; Протоколы соглашения для проекта гидроэлектрики Карденильо, предполагающего затраты $ 1.200.000.000 установленной мощностью 600 mwh, одинаково как для гидроэлектрики Чонталь стоимостью $ 500.000.000. Меморандум взаимодействия Железнодорожной компании России с Министерством Координатором стратегических секторов для получения кооперации в области строительства железнодорожных путей ; Соглашение по кредитованию с СЕLEC EP для финансирования проекта «Третья турбина и комбинированный газовый цикл на термоэлектрике в Мачала ; В 2013 году Президент посетил русский Город Знаний в Сколково, расположенный вблизи Москвы. Это важный проект, лидируемый Государственными органами России. Основная его цель - это поддерживать отношения по международному обмену в области науки и культуры с Городом Знаний в Эквадоре - Йачай. Отношения укрепились до такой степени, что пять русских компаний уже функционируют в Эквадоре: НОВОМЕТ, специализирующаяся на обеспечении водными насосами нефтяных скважин, эта компания располагает эксклюсивной технологией в этой области. АНЧАР проводит исследования по низкой частоте, которые являются дополнением к современной технологии 2D и 3D для месторождений нефти и газа. Эта технология, которая по результатам исследования считается на 80 процентов эффективна, позволит сэкономить большие ресурсы во времени и деньгах. СЕВМОРГЕО, специализирующаяся на морской геологии в Северном море, подписала контракт с Петроамазонас для исследований по газу на сумму, приблизительно, $ 46.000.000. Энергетическая группа Интер Рао России совместно с компанией Тяжмаш в 2015 году обеспечат поставку электроэнергетического и электромеханического оборудования для гидроэлектрики Тоачи-Пилатон. На последние региональные выборы в Эквадор были приглашены представители Национального выборочного совета России в качестве наблюдателей,

которым,с нашей стороны, было предоставлено электронное оборудование, с помощью которого были проведены пробные голосования в районе Тумбако - Ла Морита, с очень хорошими результатами в управлении оборудованием со стороны населения, которые должны были голосовать на этом выборочном участке. Двухсторонние коммерческие отношения, в основном, базируются на продаже эквадорских бананов (1.000 миллионов долларов в год). Другие продукты, которые являются составляющей доходов от экспорта Эквадора в Россию,являются морские продукты. Мерлуза - это рыба, которая наиболее востребована Российской Федерацией. В 2013 году, из 6.000 тонн словленной мерлузы, 4.000 тонн было экспортировано в Россию. Разрешено импортировать в Россию 20.000 тонн в год. Другие эквадорские продукты, пользующиеся повышенным спросом в Российской Федерации - это кофе, какао и экстракт тропических фруктов. По поводу цветочного бизнесса, есть большие перспективы по увеличению экспорта цветов, и не только из-за повышенного объема потребления в Российской Федерации, но и по причине того, что через Россию обеспечиваются цветами соседние страны, ранее принадлежащие к Советскому Союзу. Основные праздники, на которые резко увеличивается спрос на цветы - это Международный Женский День 8 марта, 1 сентября - День Знаний и 9 мая - День Победы во второй мировой войне. Эквадорские цветы признаны лучшими на русском рынке из-за следующих качественных характеристик таких как : огромный бутон и толстые стебли, стойкость в вазе и насыщенность цветовой гаммы, это основные факторы, которые русский покупатель всегда предпочитает при своем выборе. Стараемся работать над тем, чтобы увеличить торговые отношения между нашими нациями в пользу населения обеих стран.

Hamburg, April 09/2014 For immediate release CIOPORA Elects New Board: The election in The Hague shows high degree of unity among members The Hague: On April 1 the CIOPORA Annual General Meeting elected the new CIOPORA Board and its President. As a result, two new Board members were elected, one Board member left the Board and Mr. Andrea Mansuino was re-elected as President of CIOPORA. Second term for the President and two new faces on the Board The election resulted in a second term for the President of CIOPORA Andrea Mansuino. He thanked the members for the vote of confidence, emphasizing that although in the past years CIOPORA has been modernized and managed to become more democratic and open both in its policies and communication, there are still many milestones to achieve. He stressed that the work on CIOPORA’s new IP position and lobby priorities will continue in the intensive pace during his second term.

Mrs. Wendy Cashmore, the Manager Plant Varieties at Plant & Food Research Ltd. (New Zealand), and Mr. Andreas Kientzler, the Managing Director of Innovaplant and Kientzler Jungpflanzen GmbH (Germany) were elected as new CIOPORA Board members by the vast majority of the members in attendance. The President welcomed the new members to the Board stressing that CIOPORA will strongly benefit from their extensive expertise in the area of Plant Variety Protection and the deep knowledge of the industry. With the election of Wendy Cashmore the Board of CIOPORA gains one more representative of the fruit breeders, whereas Andreas Kientzler, who served as Chairmen of CIOPORA Deutschland for the past three years, will deliver his deep insight in the global markets for floriculture products. With the two new members the CIOPORA Board grew in terms of both geographical and professional representation of the breeders’ community. Farewell and gratitude for Mr. Focco Prins Due to the recent restructuring and company acquisitions, the DNA Green Group was represented by two members on the CIOPORA Board. It was decided that Mr. Focco Prins (Fides, The Netherlands) will leave the Board after three years of active participation. Andrea Mansuino heartily thanked Mr. Prins for his service to CIOPORA and his valuable input into the association’s work-in-progress. La logística de la flor a Rusia

ПРАВИЛЬНАЯ ПОЛИТИКА - ЗАЛОГ УСПЕХА ЦВЕТОЧНОГО БИЗНЕССА

Este año, como en ningún otro, los vuelos que transportaron nuestras flores se efectuaron sin retrasos y sobre los itinerarios establecidos. Las líneas aéreas KLM, Martin Air, LAN, Cargolux, Lufthansa y Centurión cumplieron con profesionalismo nuestras expectativas.

Sin embargo, este no fue un año de éxito en la exportación de flores para las fiestas, por las siguientes razones: Complicada situación política en Ucrania.

Devaluación de la moneda nacional de Kazajstán, de un 20% antes de los embarques del 8 de marzo Bajas temperaturas en Estados Unidos y Rusia que provocaron cancelación de algunos vuelos y dificultades en la transportación terrestre de flores, en camiones, por el alto nivel de nieve.

Cierre de licencias de algunos bancos importantes en Rusia, que limitó a los clientes para realizar transferencias a sus proveedores.

La venta de tulipanes holandeses este año tuvo mucho más éxito que la venta de rosas ecuatorianas y colombianas.

Los exportadores de flores y clientes finales ya sienten una gran necesidad de analizar los costos de embarque.

Las cargueras ofrecen a los clientes embarques consolidados con precios menores de hasta 20 o 30 centavos por kilo, y por este motivo los clientes se ven obligados a cambiar de una carguera a otra buscando el mejor precio. Varios clientes nuestros en este año cambiaron de carguera por decisión propia (por precios de fletes más baratos), cayendo en un baratillo de ofertas de

mercado en vez de establecer unas condiciones serias y estables para la exportación. Comparando las guías aéreas en los mismos días de vuelo, es muy impresionante encontrarse en la situación de que clientes muy importantes y frecuentes están enviando sus flores con tarifas mucho más altas, que otros clientes de menor volumen que transportan en embarques consolidados. Gran parte de culpa de esta situación desagradable para el cliente y el proveedor la tiene la aerolínea, pues las condiciones para cada cliente tienen que ser justas. Las cargueras tienen que servir al cliente, y cobrar solamente por sus servicios de handling, envió de documentos, etc. Pero últimamente las cargueras se han convertido en negociantes de tarifas por kilo con las aerolíneas, por esta razón ninguna carguera y ninguna aerolínea va a tener clientes fijos. Por ejemplo el 26 de noviembre de 2013 en dos cargueras se transportó la flor de dos diferentes clientes, las guías aéreas son de KLM , la diferencia de tarifa por kilo fue de 18 centavos, da la impresión que unas cajas volaron en Business Class con un trato especial y otras en Clase económica.

Es correcto que cada aerolínea tenga su propia tarifa, y sabe qué riesgo corre en la ocupación del espacio, pero es absurdo que en el mismo avión las cajas estén viajando con una diferencia del 10 al 15% en la tarifa.

Es derecho del cliente o proveedor saber qué tarifa se le aplica en embarques consolidados, pero la carguera en lugar de enviar una copia de las guías hijas, envía únicamente el documento de cómo se realizó la distribución de cajas.

Eso no es un negocio transparente. A pesar de ser profesionales nos cuesta entender esta política, la misma que está perjudicando no solamente a los clientes sino también a las mismas aerolíneas.

Хочу поблагодарить аэролинии : КЛМ, Мартин Аир, Лан, Карголюкс, Люфтганза и Сентурион за слаженную работу по палетизации и транспортировке свежесрезанных цветов из Эквадора в Россию, Казахстан и другие страны бывшего СССР к праздникам Святого Валентина и 8 Марта. Как никакой предыдущий год, полеты были реализованы по расписанию и без значительных опозданий. Этот год не был успешным в экспорте цветов к русским праздникам по следующим причинам : - сложная политическая ситуация в Украине ; - девальвация национальной казахской монеты (тенге), примерно, на 20 % накануне отправок цветов к Международному женскому дню 8 марта ; - резко пониженная температура воздуха и высокий уровень снега, из-за чего были отменены авиаполеты и затруднена наземная доставка цветов до конечных потребителей ; - лишение международных лицензий у важных рос-

- продажа голландских тюльпанов в этом году имела больший успех, чем продажа эквадорских и колумбийских роз в России. Экспортеры цветов и их клиенты чувствуют огромную необходимость анализировать себестоимость отправок, в связи с этим грузовые компании предлагают своим и чужим клиентам консолидированные отправки с занижением цен от 20 до 30 центов за килограмм и клиенты начинают « танцевать» от одной грузовой компании к другой, требуя от своих поставщиков снижения тарифов. Некоторые из наших клиентов в этом году несколько раз поменяли грузовые компании из-за более низких цен на транспорт. Это похоже на рынок, а не на экспорт на серьезных и стабильных условиях. Сравнивая авианакладные разных клиентов, принадлежащие одной и той же аэролинии, в один и тот же день полета, невозможно логически объяснить ситуацию, при которой груз клиентов регулярных и с большими объемами летает с тарифами более высокими, чем клиентов с низкими объемами,

но в консолидированных отправках. Значительная часть вины в этой, не совсем комфортной ситуации для клиента и его поставщика имеет аэролиния, условия для каждого клиента должны быть, в первую очередь, справедливыми и стимулирующими к увеличению объемов. Грузовые компании должны предоставить хороший сервис своим клиентам и получать гонорары за ручную переработку груза, посылку документов ... Однако, в последнее время, грузовые компании превратились в промежуточные коммерческие структуры, оговаривающие с аэролиниями выгодные тарифы за килограмм груза, по этой причине никакая грузовая компания, ни аэролиния не будут иметь постоянных клиентов. Например, 26 ноября 2013 года с двух грузовых компаний был палетизирован груз двух клиентов, авианакладные обоих принадлежат аэролинии КЛМ, разница в тарифе за килограмм составляет 18 центов, создается такое мнение, что ящики по одной авианакладной летали в бизнесс классе cо всеми

привилегиями, а другие - в экономическом. Это правильно, что каждая аэролиния определяет свой собственный тариф и знает, какой риск берет на себя по заполняемости свободных мест, однако это абсурд, что в одном и том же самолете ящики с цветами по разным авианакладным имеют разницу в тарифе за килограмм от 10 до 15 %. Это право клиента или поставщика знать тариф, который указан в авианакладной по консолидированным отправкам, однако, грузовая компания, вместо авианакладной-дочери каждого клиента, высылает только лист распределения ящиков по плантациям. Такая ситуация не отражает прозрачный бизнесс. Несмотря на то, что за столько лет мы поднабрались достаточно опыта в экспорте цветов, нам очень трудно понять политику грузовых компаний и аэролиний, которые своими действиями наносят ущерб не только клиенту, но и самим себе. Мое мнение : Правильная политика залог успеха цветочного бизнесса в целом.

La mejor estrategia de protección en post-cosecha La post-cosecha es una fase del proceso productivo en floricultura que se encarga de la organización y planeación de las diferentes etapas de procesamiento, almacenamiento y transporte de los productos bajo estrictos estándares de calidad, productividad y competitividad.

Una de las enfermedades más representativas en post-cosecha es Botrytis cinerea, también llamada podredumbre gris, la cual debido a su característica de esporulación (deltas de temperatura y humedad relativa), produce pérdidas durante el almacenamiento de la flor y transporte hacia el consumidor final.

Otro de los factores determinantes de la calidad en la cadena de frío es la emisión de etileno en la flor cortada. El etileno, la hormona de “maduración”, es un gas que induce la senescencia de botón y follaje, siendo responsable del 30% de perdidas en el área florícola (EPA, 2009).

A temperaturas entre 0 y 10º C, las esporas de Botrytis cinerea pueden germinar directamente sobre las heridas y tejido muerto. Después de que se han desarrollado durante un cierto tiempo forman micelio sobre los pétalos iniciando el proceso de contaminación (pecas rojizas).

El etileno inicia el proceso de maduración y senescencia en flores cortadas. Su biosíntesis se incrementa en plantas sometidas a condiciones de estrés asociado con la degradación de la clorofila y la peroxidación de lípidos de membranas.

Un factor importante es el maltrato generado en el proceso de clasificación en post-cosecha, ya que el hongo se desarrolla principalmente sobre tejido herido o senescente, incrementándose la tasa de producción de etileno.

Transport Care es un papel encerado, impregnado con clorito de sodio (0.63 %), formulado y diseñado específicamente para ser usado en post-cosecha.

ETHYL BLOC ETHYL BLOC está diseñado para proteger las flores contra el daño causado por el etileno (cabeceo, defoliación, marchitamiento prematuro) manteniendo la calidad de la flor durante el viaje.

Este producto es una formulación basada en 1 - metilciclopropeno, que en presentaciones de sachets de 2,5 g permite una máxima flexibilidad en su manipulación: bloquea la acción del etileno, controla la maduración y la senescencia, alarga la vida útil en florero y mantiene la calidad de la flor cortada durante mucho más tiempo.

La tecnología integrada TRANSPORT CARE + ETHYL BLOC permite mantener la calidad de sus flores asegurando el liderazgo en su selecto mercado.
