Symon have close links with many schools and education authorities and in recent years we have provided value-for-money solutions, particularly for Academy status schools. Built on trusted working relationships, our flexible approach and quick response has led to several successful large projects and extensions to the school’s facilities. onstruction of single storey extension forming new food technology classroom and associated stores, toilets and circulation spaces including associated external works, drainage and services.

The project also included a new lift shaft for access to first floor biology labs. The new facility build was carried out during term time meaning minimum disruption was required for the construction.

his project included the sensitive refurbishment, within the conservation belt of Rugby, to restore the traditional headmaster’s house to its former glory including original features.

The design was such to make it as low maintenance and damageproof as possible for a high school isolated changing facility. The new facility included multiple changing rooms, shower rooms, kitchen and sportsmaster changing facilities.

Ashlawn School Academy Trust, Rugby Since Symon Construction undertook Ashlawn School’s kitchen & dining room renovation & extension in 2010, we have had a close relationship with Rugby’s largest seconary school, undertaking several successful projects & maintenance work.

rchard Gardens was a joint venture between Symon Construction & HB Architects for Triforium Properties to develop the land to the rear of three properties on Crick Road, Rugby into a seven-house, luxury development served by a new access road with associated drainage, hard & soft landscaping works. Wickstead Lodge

new build luxury dwelling

w

ickstead lodge was a completely unique, one-off new build property in Blackdown near Leamington. Symon were tasked with constructing this bespoke property to an exacting specification using stateof-the art materials and stunning interior design elements. The house includes one of the largest one piece double glazed units in the UK with a stone wall in front of it. The stone is unpointed to allow the light to spill through & the entire two-ton wall is motorised so it operates like a giant curtain.

Rugby Town Football Club, Rugby Symon Construction are proud to have been major sponsors of Rugby’s largest football club since 1999 and have also completed a range of works at their Butlin Road facilities.

3G Astroturf Facility R UG B Y TOWN FC

t

his project included the development of thirdgeneration all-weather pitches at Rugby Town FC’s Butlin Road ground.

This project included the development of third-generation allweather pitches at Rugby Town FC’s Butlin Road ground. The facility included two fully-floodlit rubber-crumb pitches with a new road accessing the playing areas and parking areas outside the pitches. The development involved the re-grading of a steep incline into two flat areas. The state-of-the-art sports surface requires careful 2006 installation and maintenance to give natural ball behaviour and surrounding fences with kick-boards ensure that the £1.3m facility is secure.

500-Capacity All-Seater Stand

ymon took on the task of constructing this fantastic 500-seater cantilever stand for Rugby Town FC in late 2002.

The project included the construction of the stand - with wheelchair access, as well as changing, physio and office facilities underneath the stand. It was completed in January 2003 but it wasn’t until later in the year that it was officially opened by then England International Darius Vassell with Rugby hosting Aston Villa in a preseason friendly.

The stand was part of the ‘Most Improved Ground’ awards for Rugby in the National Non-League Paper Awards in 2004.

1,300 Capacity Covered Terrace

R UG B Y TOWN FC his covered terrace pans right along the width of the pitch at Rugby Town FC’s Butlin Road ground and has an impressive capacity of 1,300 fans.

The design had to cater for the awkward boundaries to the ground while the terracing was carefully designed to ensure the maximum capacity as well as keeping the design to sports stadia 2007 guidelines. The development also included the construction of boundary walls around the perimeter of the stadium.

St Anne’s RC Church new build church

T

he new St Anne’s Parish Church was opened in November 2000 with the project included the demolition of existing church building and erection of new build church facility. The foundation stone was laid by Bishop Philip Pargeter and the completed building was blessed by Archbishop Vincent Nichols on 11th November 2000. It is is octagonal, airy, and modern in design. It has full disabled facilities, and – unlike the old St Anne’s - a community room with kitchen and toilets. It was an awkward site, but much has been achieved within the constraints of budget and location.

onstruction of new metal-clad steel-framed structure to house new electrical transformers at Ball Packaging’s factory in Rugby.

umber sixteen Bed & Breakfast is housed in a three-storey, Grade 2 listed Georgian townhouse. Number Sixteen has four individually designed en-suite double bedrooms with deluge showers. his project comprised the conversion of derelict former schoolhouse dating back to 1840 into modern office environment for Intec Business College. A stunning glass and polished block main entrance/reception welcomes you while the scheme also featured frameless double glazed units, a new mezzanine floor thoughout and a first floor bridge to link the two buildings together, utilizing an existing Gothic stone arch and replicating the proportions with a new brick Gothic arch.

hesham House, an historical listed building, was a major refurbishment project on behalf on Kettering Borough Council to create high quality office units, hotdesking and virtual office solutions. The refurbishments included all necessary mechanical & electrical installations and finishes.

efurbishment and modernisation of 1980s industrial unit to facilitate present-day working methods, health and safety considerations and new machinery in 2008. his restoration and renewal project delivered an exciting and much-needed new community facility for the Warwickshire villages of Bourton, Draycote and Frankton, as well as restoring a listed Toll House to its former glory. A glazed link forms the junction between the new and old buildings while the new hall extension is finished with cedar boarding and terne-coated stainless steel roofing.
