Golf Maintenance Update We are nearing the final stages of the greenside bunker renovations on the Nicklaus course. This has been an extensive renovation that includes installing all new drainage lines and bunker liner for the greenside bunkers. The Nicklaus course is unique due to the nature of the subsoil the course was built on. This soil is a clay and sand mixture that creates challenges to keep the bunkers from becoming contaminated.

The bunker liner will create a barrier between the soil and bunker sand to help prevent future contamination.

In addition to the bunker renovations we have worked with the Nicklaus design team to reduce the size of the bunkers to improve playability and reduce the amount of labor hours to properly maintain the bunkers. This update has created a new look for some of our holes and improved the playability.

Our current goal is to have all the greenside bunkers completed by the end of August. This is a much anticipated improvement that we are very excited to be able to share with our members and guests.

“The Open” Challenge Scramble We had a total of 15 players for “The Open” Challenge Scramble.

It was a great event where our members had to pick a professional from the tournament and combine their team score with the professionals Sunday score.

It was a close event with the winning team being Edwin Rivera, Walter Tsuneto, and Kris Lanman with a winning score of 130.7. They won by 1.4 strokes!

Tuesday, August 20 Summer Movie Series — Blinded By The Light Studio Movie Grille at Sunset Walk Time TBD Reservations required no later than Friday, August 16.

The film tells the story of Javed (Viveik Kalra), a British teen of Pakistani descent growing up in the town of Luton, England in 1987. Amidst the racial and economic turmoil of the times, he writes poetry as a means to escape the intolerance of his hometown and the inflexibility of his traditional father. But when a classmate introduces him to the music of Bruce Springsteen, Javed sees parallels to his working-class life in the powerful lyrics.

As Javed discovers a cathartic outlet for his own pent-up dreams, he also begins to find the courage to express himself in his own unique voice.

The Club provides your movie ticket; Members are responsible for their own transportation to the movie theater and refreshments.
