Rethinking Economics' latest publication evidences the urgent need to reform our university economics degrees from the perspective of employers.
We present an analysis of 18 top UK employers of economics graduates; from across the public, private and third sectors, to examine the link between the current economics curricular and the skills gap graduates encounter when they enter employment.
Developed and written by one of our student Rethinkers; Allana Yurko, and publicly launched in July 2018 at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, with a panel event where speakers included Margaret Stevens; Head of Economics Department at the University of Oxford, Andy Ross; Former Deputy Director of the UK Government Economics Service and Maeve Cohen, RE's Director.
