The Twizza Netball Club Championships is an epitome of what it means to #TakingNetballBackToThePeople, this is the only competition that we have that allows unknown players from the districts all the way to national platforms.

This competition has been running for the past three years and we have seen a lot of great talent coming out districts, we have seen one of the best netball being played here and most importantly, we have been able to identify areas where we need to collaborate with the district to build facilities and infrastructure

It is very important for us as Netball South Africa to appreciate the partnership we have with Twizza, they have been very instrumental in helping us fulfil our vision of making sure that we give everyone access to the sport whether as a coach, a player, an administrator, an official or even a fan Over the years, we have been able to successfully take netball back to areas which are considered to be remote and identify talent there

Another gratitude note must go to leadership of the districts, without you, we would not be able to stage such a tournament It is your resilience and determination that gets us over the line all the time, your selflessness and dedication to the sport is what inspires us and pushes us to keep going even when it is hard to do so

The events team and support staff, thank you very much for always showing up and pulling through I don’t think we pay the right and due credit to you – you make it look very easy and we know how hard it gets sometimes so let me take this opportunity to say I appreciate all your hard work

Most importantly, my last focal point is the players and teams that have played their hearts out from the first game at district level, winning there and progressed to provincial level and still soldiered on to where we are now From here, it is all in your hands, May netball be the ultimate winner at the end of it all I would like to wish each and every one of you everything of the best as you take to court this weekend, may you put your best foot forward – all things are possible from here

We have seen some players who played at this level and ended up playing in the TNL literally the next season
