For 2026, the Creative Retail Awards are heading to The Clapham Grand, bringing the industry’s biggest night to one of London’s most distinctive and historic entertainment venues.

First opened in 1900 as the New Grand Theatre of Varieties, The Clapham Grand has been entertaining London audiences for more than 125 years. One of the capital’s surviving Victorian music halls, its history has taken it from music hall and variety performances to cinema, live music and major events, with performers including Charlie Chaplin, Oasis and Muse passing through its doors.

Today, its spectacular interior, balconies, dramatic architecture and unmistakable character make it an ideal setting for the Creative Retail Awards — an event built around originality, experience and visual impact.

There is a natural connection. Great retail environments do more than simply look good; they create atmosphere, tell stories, surprise audiences and leave lasting impressions. The Clapham Grand has been doing exactly that for generations.

On 15 October 2026, the venue will welcome leading retailers, brands, designers, agencies, suppliers and creative talent from across the industry for an evening of awards, entertainment, networking and celebration.

Independent judging is central to the credibility of the Creative Retail Awards. The organisers have no involvement in scoring or deciding the winners, with every result determined solely by an independent panel of respected industry professionals.

The 2026 panel brings together Ian Scott, Retail Consultant & Public Speaker; David Dalziel, Former Executive Creative Director; Andrew Busby, Retail Industry Expert, Speaker & Writer; Judith Kelly, Head of Retail Design and Delivery at Hammerson; Matthew Brown, Retail Futurist at Echochamber; Barbara Chapman, Creative VM Consultant & Stylist; Jack Stratten, Director at Insider Trends; Tim Nash, Shop Drop Daily Curator; and Isabella Fish, Retail Editor at The Times & The Sunday Times.

Crucially, judging takes place face to face in London, allowing the panel to discuss, debate and challenge different perspectives before reaching their decisions. It is a process built around genuine industry scrutiny, with the final results resting entirely with the judges.

That face-to-face approach also means entries are not considered in isolation.

Judges can bring different areas of expertise to the discussion, question assumptions and look more closely at the thinking, execution and impact behind each project.

It is this independence, rigour and peer-led assessment that has helped make a Creative Retail Award the most highly respected accolade in the creative retail industry.

The Shop Drop Spotlight Award gives the wider industry and public the opportunity to have their say, recognising standout retail projects that have captured attention through Shop Drop Daily.

Unlike the independently judged Creative Retail Awards categories, the Spotlight Award is decided by public vote, giving people from across retail, design, visual merchandising and the wider creative community the chance to support the project they believe deserves to take the title.

The award celebrates creativity that connects with people, making the public vote an important part of the process. It provides a different perspective on the work being recognised and gives those who follow, visit and engage with these projects the opportunity to influence the final result.

Voting is open through both the Shop Drop Daily website and the Creative Retail Awards website, making it easy for the industry and wider public to take part.
