Progressing a Circular Carbon Economy
RESOURCECO’S WORK IN PIONEERING CARBON ABATEMENT IN AUSTRALIA AND HELPING TO DRIVE THE TRANSITION TO RENEWABLE ENERGY HAS NEVER BEEN MORE IMPORTANT THAN NOW.
Two significant pieces of research released in recent weeks demonstrate there is still so much more to be done to combat climate change and escalate a transition to ‘clean’ energy.

Projections from the latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Report suggests we are facing worse fires, longer droughts, and more severe floods unless substantially more is done.
The most comprehensive climate report ever released, found the earth could be just ten years from heating by more than 1.5 degrees celsius.
This coupled with a report from The Australia Institute which ranked our nation poorly for our transition to clean energy when compared with 22 other Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries only serves to reinforce the importance of the need to drive more rapid change.
ResourceCo Energy CEO Henry Anning says that while there has been growth in solar and wind energy, energy-from-waste remains a relatively untapped opportunity.
“For energy hungry manufacturers, there is so much upside to encouraging a transition to a viable, cost-effective and more environmentally sound option such as heat or electricity from Processed Engineered Fuel (PEF).
“We need to continue to work with the industrial sector to further encourage alternative heat solutions to gas, coal and electricity, that are not only renewable but also divert waste from landfill and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“Change can only occur if we all work in partnership to address the challenges we can’t afford to ignore and so we will continue to play our role in encouraging the use of ‘energy-from-waste’ as a sensible option for baseload renewable energy.”
ResourceCo also remains committed to continuing its work of the last 30 years in assisting companies to achieve carbon neutral status through the provision of carbon abatement credits.
“As a natural extension of ResourceCo’s core environmental and recycling platforms, we are proud of our work in progressing a carbon economy by delivering carbon abatement solutions for end use by Australian businesses.”
