Aloha, my name is Jay, and I have been an RA for 2 years. For me, the RA position has been very supplemental towards my personal and profes- sional growth. I feel like I’m learning something valuable almost every day and that the position’s also helped me practice my time management, communication, and team working skills. I’ve learned a lot about myself in the RA position and I’m excited to learn more!

Hi! I’m Brendan Urayanza, a first-year master’s student in the Library and Information Science program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I’m the Resident Assistant for the Rainbow Village residential learning program , which houses LGBTQIA2+ residents and allies. One of the most fulfilling aspects of serving as an RA has been the opportunity to connect with other members of the queer community as we come together to share a space that is uniquely ours.

Aloha I’m Madee. I am a transfer student from CA. I am a first gen- eration college student. I am Hispanic/Latina. I have been an RA for almost 2 years. Here at UH Manoa, we are a community that has a very diverse background. We are all from different environments and back- grounds. We work together to make the community inclusive and sup- portive.
