From Research to Real World Impact: IP & Commercialization Strategies This workshop focuses on strategies for commercializing faculty research, including obtaining state and federal grants to develop and commercialize innovations, finding a commercialization partner, protecting intellectual property, and developing suitable revenue sharing arrangements. The Cost of Knowledge: Opening the Doors to Research at DePaul In celebration of International Open Access Week, join the DePaul University Library for a series of lightning talks about openly published research. Learn more about library services to support open knowledge and insight on finding grant support for article processing fees. Open Access to information – the free, immediate, online access to the results of scholarly research, and the right to use and re-use those results as you need – has the power to transform the way research and scientific inquiry are conducted. IRB Requirements for Research with Secondary Data This session explores the regulatory, ethical, and practical considerations involved in conducting secondary research, including determining when IRB review is required, assessing the identifiability of data, and understanding investigator responsibilities for data access, security, and confidentiality.
